“A traditional Korean BBQ restaurant, Sot excels in their high quality meats and generous sides. We tried the prime sampler which came with a variety of beef and pork cuts , cooked by the helpful staff to perfection. The restaurant is spacious and elegant. While it gets busy on the weekends, weekday lunches are more relaxed. Prices are reflective of the high quality of meats.“

“I’ve tried quite a few Korean spots in San Diego, and Song Hak is definitely one I’d come back to.

Their Korean food is really good overall, but the stone pot bibimbap was probably my favorite. It came out super hot, and I loved how the rice at the bottom got crispy from the stone bowl. Mix everything together with the sauce and it’s just so comforting and satisfying.

Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful, and it honestly felt like one of those meals where you keep eating even when you’re already full 😂

My most favorite part that I love about this place is that you get the opportunity to be creative and become your own chef. Another great thing is you yourself get to serve and pick what you want since it’s buffet. Have fun, enjoy, and have a good time whether it’s for a date night or with a group of family or friends. Definitely a place I will go back.“

“Small learning curve for someone with my cultural background, but once I found the right cuts and grilling technique it was game over. If you aren’t sweating by the end of a meal here you aren’t doing it right. Really excellent value all things considered! Would happily come back!“

“Our experience at Buga was a bit mixed. We visited on a weekday in the early afternoon when the restaurant was practically empty. Initially, service was excellent. Our server was attentive and eager to help, and within minutes, our side dishes and first round of meat arrived. Everything seemed off to a great start.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Getting additional meat and other items felt like an exercise in patience. We often waited a long time and practically had to wave a flag to get someone's attention. We eventually discovered a service button that rings a bell, but it would have been helpful if someone had explained that to us when we were seated.

The food itself was very good. Both the short ribs and bulgogi were delicious, and the quality of the meat was a highlight. However, the overall service lacked the friendliness and attentiveness that make a Korean BBQ experience enjoyable.

Overall, Buga has good food, but our experience was pretty average. With more consistent, welcoming service, it could be a much more enjoyable restaurant.“

“I’m new to Korean bbq. My cousin took me here. The food was really really good. They seemed to be having an off night, only one server, so the service was a bit slower than expected, but my cousin said that wasn’t normal at all. I’d come back again next time I’m in the area.“
