My Happy Donut
Stopped by this location on the corner of Kearny & Columbus. Service was just okay—staff didn’t seem too welcoming, which caught me off guard considering the name.
That said, the food did its job. I ordered a ham sandwich, a chocolate buttermilk donut, and a small coffee—came out to about $18. The donut was solid, and everything hit the spot. Nothing over-the-top, but definitely satisfying.

My Happy Donut is a friendly donut and coffee shop known for its fresh, high-quality pastries and welcoming atmosphere. The glazed donuts are a popular choice, and the shop offers affordable prices, making it a good value in the SF area. Customers can enjoy breakfast dishes like the egg, cheese, and avocado sandwich, which received praise for its delicious taste. The shop is open late and early, catering to those craving sweets or a hearty breakfast at any time. Kids enjoy the donuts, and the place also features a small selection of sweet and savory foods, including sandwiches and bagels. The staff is friendly and even brings food to the table. Drinks can be quite hot when served, so they may take a moment to cool down, and drink sizes are not always clear. The interior is a relaxed space where customers can sit, play the lotto, or read the paper, making it a convenient and comfortable spot to unwind. Although it has a limited menu, the donuts are all legit and solid, with the donut holes being especially underrated. For those near North Beach or Chinatown, this place is a hidden gem that’s easy to overlook, but it offers reliable, substantial options that satisfy a sweet tooth or hunger at any time.
