“Whenever I find myself in Pasadena, I make it a point to stop by. As I step through the front door, the aromas are welcoming, the setting comforting, and with it a slew of memories rushes back. I discovered Jones in the early 2000’s during business trips to Pasadena. Through the years it became a must have visit, even during family trips. Leading the way is Rafael. He’s calm and welcoming and his presence is felt every where. In fact, during a 2021 visit he spotted my family and me, came over to greet us, and fondly recalled my children who he hadn’t seen in close to 8 years. It’s that type of personal attention , and good product, that has kept me coming back. Enjoy!“

“Tucked away inside Hill Street Bar & Restaurant, this little hidden coffee spot is one of the best-kept secrets in DTLA. The vibe is quiet and cozy, and the coffee is easily some of the best in the city. Service was excellent—friendly, quick, and welcoming.

The menu is packed with great options, including some unique specialty drinks you won’t find everywhere, like the Café de Olla latte, brown sugar latte, and honey almond latte. Don’t miss the iced hojita—it’s a standout—and the breakfast burritos are just as incredible.

Overall, this place is a true gem. If you’re passing through downtown, definitely stop by—you’ll be glad you did.“

“Our morning ritual used to involve bludgeoning ourselves into a semblance of consciousness with the heavy-hand of a generic dark roast. It was an effective if inelegant solution to parenthood. Aqaurela's beans provide a different experience. We are by no means coffee experts, but my wife and I were surprised by the nuances in smell and taste when we tried their Deus Me Livre for our morning espresso. It's a lighter feel; almost refreshing. The morning cup feels a bit indulgent, yet not so rich as to make your mouth feel overwhelmed. We could see this pairing very well as an after-dinner treat with any manner of desserts. The best part is that this is simply a fantastic company to work with. Quick, fast delivery. Prompt follow-up to make sure we were completely satisfied. And all questions answered - when we noted that we typically prefer darker roasts, one of the owners explained that their goal was to make a medium-roast whose flavors would still hold up to a coordination with cream and sugar. It's a throwback to days where customer service and the personal touch were still important. This is a small business whose goal of promoting independent farmers is admirable and worthy of our support. Thank you!“

“Very cool spot, right by a metro station so you get to see a train 🚃 rumble by when you're in their second story window. Perfect for people watching, small gatherings, and getting quality work done on a book or laptop.

The coffee was earthy, refreshing and flavorful so I was definitely going to bring a bag of their roast home with me too. And they even have 🍨 ice cream for affogatos and a scoop for a quick bite.
