“SJ’s BEST CHILAQUILES?! Consider this Part 4 of my quest for the best chilaquiles in the valley and I think we found our contender. Taqueria Azteca is the epitome of a sleeper hit, it’s so GOOD, you can’t miss this. It’s authentic and the closest I’ve gotten to San Diego level of yummy Mexican cuisine. Trust me when I say I know my Chilaquiles at this point, I’m a little obsessed with this place.

Ever since I got more into chilaquiles last month, I’ve been hunting down great, local Mexican businesses. San Jacinto is winning with this place. Located at the heart of little Main Street, I walked in and found my self craving a late Mexican brunch. I ordered the red chilaquiles which came with beans, an overeasy egg, and I of course paired it with a large Jamaica drink. It was perfect!

My order was taken by a shy, slightly awkward guy who was very professional and quick. I was on a time crunch and they whipped up my meal in a flash. The ingredients are fresh, you can taste it. It’s incredible that this place is so efficient AND effective. The place is calm, clean and inviting. Had I had more time I would’ve spent the afternoon here.

There’s tables inside and a nice little nook with stools facing the street. It’s definitely my vibe and reminds me of a cool joint you’d find in Mexico. I LOVE it.”

“We went in around 1pm. Not many people in there yet, which was nice for us. The waitress was very nice and served us well. The food was good. I got the honey walnut shrimp, and they were pretty huge shrimp. The orange chicken was pretty good. I got the chicken without spice for my aunt. The soba noodles were amazing, and the people I came with had the calamari and wings. They give you a stainless steel chopstick option in your silverware. I kept hearing these little things and realized it was everyone's chopsticks. I actually enjoyed the sound and added to the ambiance of the restaurant. You're right on the edge of the walkway, and people can't help but look over at what you're eating. I would definitely go back. I didn't get a before picture, but at least you can see how much we liked the food.”

“Truth be told I have not been to a der wienerschnitzel since I was much younger and with my dad. He would have the Polish sausage sandwich with a split dill pickle mustard and cheese on it or of course the rye bread. The thought of that one item alone was enough to bring me right through the drive-thru. I added a chili cheese dog fry mustard dog and a drink almost just to create a taster test environment. I was a little disappointed in a couple things The mustard dog especially for being poster child of a mustard dog, sadly didn't have much mustard on it at all. The rest was good but not as good as I remember, this may be unfair and unrealistic but it's what I have to offer. Thoroughly enjoyed it I would definitely go back the real negatives weren't even that negative at all. Highly recommend I will definitely go back soon.”

“MY COMFORT COFFEE! It’s a pleasure to visit Soboba and stop by for cup of cold brew and a baked treat every time I’m here. The coffee is fresh and I’ve never had any issue with any of the brews. The frappes and cold beverages are all amazing! The hot cocoa is a little watery, so I don’t recommend that. However, everything else is wonderful. I want Koffee Kiicha to bring back the refreshers, they had really tasty themed refreshers that really hit the spot before but they’ve seemed to disappear? We want our refreshers back lol! All the baked treats I’ve had here are yummy and satisfy my sweet tooth. I just had the Tres Leches Cup and it’s was surprisingly moist! Koffee Kiicha is located towards the back of the casino near the Fairway Cafe. It’s open 24 hrs on the weekend only (Saturday it’s closed a couple of hours for maintenance). I hope it’s open 24/7 soon because it would be wonderful for all the resort guests and visitors, it’s clearly needed!”

“We have been in this valley for over 20 years now. If you want big portions and authentic Mexican food, this is your place. Salsa bar is always full and clean and the staff is pretty quick. I like their tacos because the meat is flavorful and plenty of it. You don't even need their salsa, the meat is so good without it. The salsa is so good that it just complements the meat. Together, you have a "fiesta" in your mouth. Darn good food; what ever you order. The prices are quite reasonable too.”

“I'd heard this place is supposed to have great pupusas. It's true. One of the best pupusas I've ever had. (and I used to live in little El Salvador)
It was a 45 minute wait from when we ordered so not the place to go if you're hungry "right now". Nonetheless it was well worth it.
I ordered four. 2 frijole y queso, and 2 revuelta.
I couldn't understand why it was $30.
Each pupusa was 2/3 the size of a large dinner plate, and weighed approximately 2 Lbs.
The cortido & salsa hitomate was spot on ??
Next time we know to only order 1 per person, and to order by phone.
I recommend ordering to go, especially in the summer. They have absolutely NO air conditioning at all.

They were all working , but Maddie stood out to me .she definitely loves her job. In todays society you just don’t see that! Fantastic job Maddie. “The main items that they have are pretty good for a fast food Asian restaurant. You have to direct them to how much rice or noodles that go into your take out container, otherwise you will get 2 lbs of rice/noodles and 8 onces of the item that you order. I like the new front end staff they have serving the customers for the last year. Years ago the older ladies they had were very mean and rude. They acted like they were doing you a favor serving you that day. Anyone that has been going there for the last 10 years or more will know what I mean. Their food has kept people coming back.”
