Panda Express in San Jose

“Update: A manager reached out to me directly and gave a very positive and thoughtful response. They took my concerns seriously and let me know they’ll be working with the team on additional training, especially around customer service and mobile order verification. I really appreciate the way this was handled and feel much better about the situation now.

Here’s what happened:
I only went to the restaurant after Panda Express texted me saying my mobile order was ready.When I got there, I showed Trisha, an employee at the store, everything she needed to verify it — names, my phone number, exact order number, order details, and the full order page showing in the Panda Express app.

I even pointed out a prepared order that I thought might be mine and asked her to simply validate whether the information matched. She wouldn’t even look, and she turned away every time I asked.

So there I was, left standing there with my phone in my hand for nearly 20 minutes, trying again and again to get her to check my order while she kept turning away and helping other customers. Several people who came in after me were helped while I was still standing there. (Also - Isn’t it supposed to be first come, first served? 🤨)

I asked for the manager too, but she wouldn’t even care to get me a manager. At that point I honestly didn’t know what else I was supposed to do but standing, so I had to call Panda Express Guest Care while I was literally still standing inside the restaurant just to get someone to help me, just to pick up the order I literally placed on the mobile app and with all the info provided 😦

Eventually, a woman who wasn’t wearing a Panda Express uniform - so I honestly don’t even know if she was an employee (but I really appreciated it) - stepped in and helped me. By then, I had already gone over my lunch break and missed a work meeting.“

“Now, let me tell you this Panda Express like it’s counter parts did not disappoint. Many times when you get a manager scooping your portions, it tends to lack. But this location did a tremendous job at making me fat and happy. Mye was great and Luis and Shaoen as well they were welcoming and accommodating and deserve all 5 stars they receive. I would never write this if I didn’t feel strongly about my experience being as pleasant and uplifting as it was well done panda you really express“

“Kudos To Myhanh V. She is always so welcoming and kind. When interacting with other employees, they don’t seem as approachable or as if they are annoyed, however Myhanh ALWAYS has great and positive energy, regardless of how customers act towards her. I hope the Panda Team sees how hard working she is, and hopefully they give her a raise. She is Manager Worthy!!“

“Huge shoutout to Jocelyn and Maya, they were actually holding it down during the rush my friends and I walked into. The only thing that I felt everyone could notice without telling each other was who seemed like the owner/manager Rick was not massively helpful while those two were highkey handling everything. Bless up you two the food was great“

“Really enjoyed the food here! Everything was served hot and tasted fresh, which was a great surprise. The quality was better than I expected, and each bite was satisfying. The Teriyaki Chicken was especially delicious and easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. I also appreciated that the food came out nice and warm instead of lukewarm. Overall, it was a great experience with tasty, freshly prepared food. I’d definitely come back again and recommend trying the Teriyaki Chicken.“

“My visit from our of town was better than going to my local Panda. The young lady at the register adhered to her training as she attended to the seating areas when idle at the register. Also checked in with customers to assure all was well. Only issue was tofu was either left under heater to long or overcooked. I'm going to assume later as the eggplant was fine.“

“Panda Express is still family owned and operated which is pretty rare for a chain of this size and they also give back to the community. I live nearby and I'm glad they're reasonably priced and they're open so late. I can actually go after work and get a decent meal. My favorite is the double portion chicken teriyaki with chow mein which for me is 2-3 servings. When I eat there I like seeing them cutting up the chicken with skin right in front of me. The food is well seasoned and I don't need any sauce on it. When I visit Panda Express, I see a friendly, hard-working group that gets the food to the customers as quick as possible. I appreciate that.“

“The staff was very welcoming and extremely friendly. From the moment I started my meal with Kim to the cash register with Theavy. The portion of my food was well served and felt like I paid a fair price! I also used my rewards which gifted me an appetizer that was selected and recommended by staff and well enjoyed.“

“I had to place a massive catering order for 60 individual combos for the River of Life Foundation this past Friday, and the team at this West San Jose Panda Express exceeded all expectations!

From the moment I placed the order to the pickup, the service was seamless. They had everything packed incredibly well in sturdy boxes and bags, making transportation a breeze. Not only was everything ready exactly on time, but they also went above and beyond by providing extra supplies and ensuring we had everything we needed for our event.

“Good Panda Express. Quick service and the facilities are well maintained. Employees seem to work as a Team. Shoutout to Kylie, every time I visit she always be hustling. Forgot part of my order today during the rush and they were very apologetic and made up for it.“

“Great place to get fast Chinese food if you're a meat eater. If you're vegetarian like me, you have only 2 choices. Tofu with eggplant and or veggies. I hate eggplant and they won't do just tofu so I have to buy the mix dish and throw away the eggplant. I guess not enough vegetarians come to Panda Express. The staff was quick but not friendly.Features: No social distancing. No masks.“

“This is a great place for fast food! Friendly service all the time. The food is great and the right temperature. The atmosphere could be a tad bit cleaner. The floors to be specific. I have never used the bathroom so I wouldn't know how clean it is. But this definitely does not stop me from going there. I love this place.“

“Consistently Fresh and Clean Service,*Request for Hot and Sour SoupThis restaurant consistently offers fresh food, even during late hours. The service is unfailingly clean and courteous. It would be a great addition to bring back the hot and sour soup. Listing it on the menu with an enticing picture could certainly boost sales.Furthermore, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of perfect. The server was exceptionally kind, every order was accurate, and the presentation and taste of the food were both outstanding. Thank you, Panda Express, for a wonderful dining experience!“

“Quang Tonny Kadd Ian and Lara were a smooth oiled working machine tonight. I just stood in line impressed by how well they flowed together. It was almost closing time too and the line was long but moving! Great job guys! Just had to say that.“

“After trying almost every panda branch in bay area i confidently can say this store has the best tasting menue out of all of them , even though they all share the same recepie, this store is the most consistantly great tasting items all around, even though they are located to a mall and have less room with less time, like any other mall, only landa store i drive 10 miles for almost everyday“

“Strangely enough Panda Express is now a good value option especially for how early they open compared to normal Chinese restaurants.

The bigger plate is a solid lunch and then some for some people, while their sides are really hit or miss, their entrées are usually on point.“
