5 Best Wineries near San Leandro

Blindwood Cider Company Winery •
2547 Williams St, San Leandro

“Nice selection of ciders and very friendly owners with a small but inviting taproom. We've had their Honey Sage, Peach & Lemon Verbena, and Hibiscus Mint at other local breweries and really enjoyed them, so decided to stop in upon learning that they had a taproom. We got a flight of their Puns n Roses, Zin, Ginger Peppercorn, Arkansas Black, Nehou Normal, and Jonathan, of which we liked the first two. Also got a bottle to go of their Coffee Chaff and Bourbon Barrel, which was very different from any of the other ciders we tried. We had a good time and look forward to coming back!“

Prima Materia Winery Tasting Room Wine Bar •
482 #B, 49th St, Oakland - 9.61 miles

“I really dig Prima Materia wines -- particularly the cab and Grenache. I also like buying the variety pack cases, which brings the cost per bottle down to about $22. And it's fun to learn about varietals with which I'm unfamiliar, like agalianico.“

TwiningVine Estate Winery Winery • $$
16851 Cull Canyon Rd, Castro Valley - 5.67 miles

“Like other reviews have stated, TwiningVine Winery is a hidden gem in the Bay Area. My husband & I were looking for a winery to try out near Lake Chabot to take a friend to who was visiting from out of town. A morning hike around Lake Chabot followed by wine tasting at this boutique family winery turned out to be such an awesome day! Friendly tip: If you plan to visit TwiningVine, be sure to check their website for up-to-date visiting info. They're only open the 2nd & 4th weekend of the month from March through September for wine tasting. We were lucky enough to go the last Sunday of August, and it was a gorgeous, sunny day! Their wine tasting experience is set in a beautiful area outdoors in the shade of a beautiful oak tree near their big red barn. You have your choice of sitting up at a bar area, tall tables with stools, or various cushiony patio furniture spread out amongst the trees, plants and water fountains. It's really relaxing and picturesque! Javier was our main server/wine tasting expert, and he was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable of the wines. Ruby also stepped in towards the end and was great too! They even introduced us to the owners of the winery which was a nice little treat as well! Javier told us that they had just bottled a new Chardonnay, and gave us a taste of that first. I think it was my favorite, but that may also be because it was warm outside and the rest of the tasting menu were reds! Either way, we loved the tasting experience here and would definitely come back next season. Cheers TwiningVine!“
