“Came with a few friends, clean quiet place to eat, waitress was nice and friendly. Took a while for the food to come but overall it was good. Would recommend most rolls except the surf and turf, weird flavor combination but still decent. A little pricy but a good experience to go and eat. Would come back again.“

“Umai Sushi is a hidden gem! The sushi is always fresh and delicious—especially the baked salmon roll, which is hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The staff is super friendly, and the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Great service, great food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!“

“My family and I have been dining here almost weekly for the last 7 months. The food is phenomenal. It’s fresh, the dishes are innovative yet they offer traditional rolls. Honestly, their ribeye is my favorite dish. Ask for extra mushrooms and sauce- you’ll thank yourself for it. The owners are working there daily and are the sweetest people. My kids are sushi connoisseurs and have declared this their favorite place.“

“My brother, husband, and I have been coming here for years. This is our local spot for sushi, and we will be lifelong customers for sure! We love their happy hour specials (from 3:30-5:30). When we can't decide what to eat, we get the lunch bento box combo and it hits the spot every time! I think I've tried every non-spicy roll on their menu. If you're down to get something that tastes as fantastic as it looks, go for the Cucumber Special Roll. It won't disappoint!“

“Funny af they play country music & Mr. Brightside here cuz it’s westernized. But a bit pricey. Also their neon sign is so funny but camp. They also have this $180 Godzilla Challenge where if you eat 3 lbs of meat plus all veggies in 30 mins or less you get all that for free. Seems like a great place for vibes. Bar searing. Wine Wednesdays. Lunch specials. I was sus at first when I read it was westernized hot pot and was like there’s no way they can mess up boiling raw ingredients in a soup right. Actually not bad.“

We tried to get in 2 different times but they were full.
On the 3rd try we understood why it's so crowded the food was fabulous. Hubby got drunken noodles loved them and I had Crispy Chickee and loved it also.

“Honestly, this was some of the best freaking sushi I have had in a while. I am traveling for work from Manhattan and I can’t get fish this fresh and delicious for under $120 and even then portions are miniscule. Absolutely blown away, stuffed, and dreaming of more for under $75“

“Really good food. All the fish was very fresh. Not a very large place, but certainly better than some of the better known places in terms of food quality. Ushi is expensive for sure, but it seemed better value for portion size. This is my wife and my new favorite for sushi in Escondido.“

“The food was absolutely phenomenal! They had both Japanese and Korean options to choose from with both of foods being executed extremely well. They had a great quantity of food with the sushi combo and bibimbap. Furthermore, they were able to accommodate substitutions within the sushi combo which is great for those with allergies. All around would recommend and will eat there again!“

“Fish Boon is very unique and really well done. You know your in for something good when your informed about the menu and there approach to dining when you first sit down. The surf and turf roll is amazing, best selection of Saki I have seen and really great service. This will be a regular destination of ours for sure.“

“Ordered the Alaskan Roll for pick up. Excellent online ordering system with easy payment (and flexible options). I was concerned that the salmon would be smoked (I’m not a fan of the smoked variety), so I made a note about it. They prepared my order perfectly and included a note, “Not smoked… enjoy!” They even included the extra ginger I requested. Easy pick up and the sushi roll was excellent and very tasty! When I went inside to pick up my order, it was packed and the energy in the room was very happy and warm. Highly recommend this place!“

We ordered miso soup, spider roll, lemon roll, and the Gloria-everything was perfect. Each roll is really thought out and tastes amazing. Quality is above the rest. Prices are great. “Can’t say enough about the goodness here at my first visit. My son who is 7 took one bite of my me so hot and it was his. The noodles were cooked perfect and the broth was to die for.
A bit out of my way but I found my new ramen obsession!!“
