“The food and the variety of rolls are very good. I tried the toro and it was so fresh and melts in the mouth. The restaurant is located in a busy plaza, so recommended for dinner more than lunch to find a spot for your car. Their service is fast and they have that nice ship which gives an amazing presentation to “
“Yi Sushi is my fiancé and I’s absolute favorite sushi restaurant! We order to-go probably once a week and come dine in every so often, and every experience has been delightful! I LOVE their sashimi, always super fresh and good size pieces as well.“
“Calm atmosphere. There's a good selection of rolls ? and Japanese cuisine. I had the Sunset Roll, Seared Ahi Roll, Udon soup ? and gyoza/tempura shrimp ? appetizer. My only real complaint is that the Wasabi does not have any 'kick' at all, very, very mild.“
“I ordered a crunch roll that was very good but it said it had crab meat which to me was false advertising since imi is three letters and they coulda written that or told me when I asked “it has crab meat it?” Still would recommend ??♀️“
“This place was a pleasant surprise for me. The food was very delicious and we came on a great day where it was cold and rainy outside. It look a little but longer than usual to receive the food and bill, but the taste of the food, friendly service, and great atmosphere made up for that x 10. I wish I lived closer to keep eating here!“
“National City & the South Bay area are quickly becoming a foodie paradise. This place is new to me but I really liked their menu options. We had a unique Sushi n Gone roll, some delicious soup & a nice side salad. Come early because parking is limited during peak hours. Family friendly tho they do serve beer. Great staff.“
“Small neighborhood sushi spot with great sushi and sake! The sake specials are something to definitely take advantage of! Unfortunately the bang bang corn was not in season during my most recent visit, but we’ll be back in no time. It would be best to call for a reservation, as they do get busy.Parking: Parking sports in front of restaurant and neighborhood parking.“
“We visited with friends and ordered a wide assortment of dishes: rolls (Tommy roll, Lemon roll, cut roll) udon, poke, miso soup, and also tried several appetizers: crispy salmon skin, edamame, and spicy edamame, fried gyozu, and assorted fried vegetables. The food was surprisingly well done, it was clear that great care went into their menu and dishes. Everyone was very pleased, and feeling very glad we gave this place a chance -- we'll be back!“
“This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. The staff is friendly and attentive. The place is comfortable. The food is good, my favorites are: no rice roll #1, #2, cucumbers roll no rice and one of my new favorite is the hot & hotter roll (shown in picture). I tried the sashimi and it is very good.“
“Just stumbled upon this place after going to AMC for movie night. Was pleasant surprise. Service amazing. Had dragon roll, lots of eel. Had miso ramen. Better than most specialty ramen places. Great flavor and lots of meat and garnish. Bento box with chix teriyaki good. Recommend“
“I was recommend to this place in by someone who used to work here. All their sushi rolls are delicious and come with so many pieces. The amount of pieces per sushi roll is worth the value. Each roll comes with approximately 12 pieces. For the quality and amount per roll I highly recommend this place. This place is my go to spot for sushi.“
“First Time great. Second time even better because the man in charge remembered me and he was not even working.Awesome tasty food and portions are worth it by far. I buy what I buy from other places in San Diego- no comparison they are on top of their game.“
“I'm so addicted to the Torched Salmon Aburi bowl here. I add avocado and it's really worth it. They recently moved 2 stalls over in the Market on 8th food hall and share space with Cafe Indonesia now. Everything I've tried has been good and I keep wanting to try new things on the menu from them and from the Cafe Indonesia menu too, but it's very hard to not just keep ordering my usual.“
“Love this place. San Diego has no shortage of Sushi, but we make a point of coming here as often as we can! Service is great, the staff are attentive and friendly, and they ever remember our favorite seat and order when we come in Nothing quite like a comfy local restaurant like Kaki to make you feel right at home. I highly recommend the Black Dragon roll, Salmon Sashimi, and some hot green tea“
“This is a restaurant I found while on a business trip. The ramen is seasoned well and tastes better than what I ate when I studied abroad in Japan. There are a lot of them. If there's one thing that's disappointing, it's that the noodles aren't fresh, but the owner was very kind, and I'd like to visit again if I get the chance. From Korea to Japan“
“Came in for a quick father-son dinner. Waitress (older Hispanic female) didn't seem too interested to service us and checked up on us maybe twice during the entire meal. Cameron, the other sushi chefs behind the bar, and other wait staff took care of us and gave us a better experience. I regret not having cash on hand to give them the tip they deserve. If I come back, it'll definitely be because of them.Food was fresh and delicious, definitely no complaints there. Food came out at a reasonable pace, considering how busy the restaurant was.“
“Great sushi spot in Lemon Grove. Decent prices and fresh made sushi with good service. I’ve been several times over the past few years and would go back for sure.Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian rolls. I’m actually vegan and I still thoroughly enjoy eating here. The veggie roll is delicious.Parking: The parking out front stretches along the shops. Easy to park usually.Kid-friendliness: I’ve taken my son as a baby and most recently as a 7 year old. He loves it. His favorite is the Japanese chicken nuggets“
“This place is seriously a hidden gem. They have a wide selection of sushi and other dishes, the price point is super reasonable, the service is outstanding, and the location is very convenient. My go to takeout order is the udon and garlic tofu. I love how they give big portions as well. I will definitely be returning here and making it a point to try some of their other dishes as well!“
“I was walking back from a different restaurant already full and I noticed a sushi restaurant. I walked in and the jack of all trades Kei was the worker who gave me recommendations and made sushi. The best California roll I ever had and I've been to japan. Definitely recommend stopping by if you go to SDSU or live in the area.“
“I actually like the spot except the orange chicken which was a nasty or old and we also placed an order online and decided to pay the restaurant when we got there so then they call me and say it's a big order we need a credit card over the phone and they also said, do you wanna leave a tip? Order was only like $60 I guess but should I be tipping if it's a pick up order?“
“What a delightful & delicious addition to the Grossmont's FoodCourt Center !!! This eatery spot only opens 2 days a week and the rest of the days you can catch them at a Farmers' market! so catch them whenever you can! Don't miss out on what they have to offer! The 2 entrees my husband and I ordered were flavorful and well seasoned. We both finished and left our boxes emptied and cleaned . The owner did an exceptional job by making sure if we had any food allergies when taking our orders. This is something that rarely happens where business owner take the cautious and careful step to ask and make sure customers are safe. So we really appreciated that very much! We can't wait to come back and catch you on the days the eatery spot opens! A MUST TRY!!!! :D“
“This has been a favorite of our family. My mom is Japanese and we have gone to others. But she says this is the best one!!I would also go get lunch and take it to one of my mom's Japanese friends. I was taking care of her and she was a picky eater. This is where I go every year for my Birthday, when my son & grandson take me and also for mother's day. Also the service and prices are excellent.Parking: Located in the Town & Country strip mall.Kid-friendliness: I have always taken my kids and now my grandkids!“
“Best sushi place ever! The food and service is amazing!! everyone is so nice and friendly. our food came out so fast and was soo good. The spicy garlic edamame is the best I’ve had and the Samurai roll was amazing ?? overall the place is so good me and my friends loved it! I recommend everyone to go!!“
“What would I would without Sarku japan! Fresh Chicken or Beef Teriyaki cooked right in front of you - The combo comes California rolls using real avocado. Honestly better sushi than I've had in actual sushi restaurants, and the price is on point! I would even order extra sometimes. Polite staff too that work hard and fast. Definitely worth it 110%.“
“This was such a random sushi spot that we stopped at. But man was it the place to be! I didn't know that it would be that popular on a Friday night but our party of 6 didn't have to wait too long. Also - parking was really easy but I'm serious - random high rating sushi spot. I opted for the salmon teriyaki bento which was around $20. Honestly not a bad deal at all. I was full! It had a generous portion of salmon (albeit a little dry but the teriyaki sauce was good)The tempura pieces included salmon, carrot, cucumber, onion and a few pieces of sushi, and salad! It was just so much food! There was also a deal on beers and the sushi came out really fast and looked delicious. I'm not sure when I'm making my way out here again but I did enjoy the time there. Also they played a lot of good music.“
“I was hungry and driving around looking for food. I was open to trying out a new place. This place exceeded my expectations, great servings, great price, and great flavorful food.Husband had the Ramen which he loved.I had the Teriyaki Chicken & Cali Roll plate. Started with the Miso, which was as good as it gets. Then came the Cali roll, it’s a simple roll and was executed correctly. Then came a generous portion of Chicken, Rice, and Potato Salad. Loved the chicken and rice. Salad was good. Potato doesn’t make sense for me but it was good. Lastly, I appreciated the small details they added to enhance their plate presentation like adding a pineapple & leaf. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.“
“My favorite cost-friendly sushi place. I lived in SD for 18 years then moved. Every time I visit, I must go back to Osaka’s. Please try the Osaka and Homie roll!!! Plus the house salad is excellent. The servers still recognize me after so many years.“
“My pops and I come here a lot on Saturdays when we are both off of work. The first time he ever tried wasabi here was the most memorable, funniest, happy-sad memory I have ever had with my Dad. The sushi is really good, the service (No table service, but you can dine in) is great. The atmosphere is amazing with most people ordering take out, and only a few tables available. No table service, which I have found great as I'm used to - sort of a Mexican thing. Y'all pick up after yourselves and don't forget, ever, to push in your chairs after your done eating ! ?Parking: It's right in a shopping center, plenty of parking right up front.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is handicap parking ?️, plenty of it right up front, including van access ♿.“
“I love this place it is our friday spot. A couple of years ago i made the mistake of talking my 3 kids into trying sushi. Since then going to Ahi became more costly. This place is a great value for sushi loving families and the food is great. The service is awesome as well. You could find a more expensive sushi joint if you wanted to but why?“
