“I just happen to be in the area and came across this cute little wine store and tapas restaurant. I love the warm and inviting atmosphere, very clean, and the staff was friendly, dressed nicely and attentive. My friend and I ordered some delicious Zinfandel and the hummus plate was excellent. “I think the best way to start this review is to be honest about my obsession and the chokehold this place has on me. It's borderline unhealthy at this point. I can't seem to stay away. LOL. No but seriously, I am completely and utterly in-love with this place. I am a huge sandwich person but so I am particular about where I go. Has to ya know, check alllll the boxes etc. Ernie's has stolen my sammy-heart. I believe I've had every single sandwich on the menu at this point and I enjoyed every single one of them. If I HAD to choose my favorite sandwich, they would be these:
-Italian on Dutch crunch roll
-Crispy chicken caesar on Dutch crunch roll
-Curry chicken salad on focaccia
-Tuna on sourdough ( always add the hot pepper salad)

*I love the dutch crunch roll for any of the sandwiches but the focaccia also steals the show quite often.

I've been here for dinner as well and my recommendations would be:
-Charcuterie board
-Bruschetta boards ( you pick 2) but my faves are the prosciutto one (the prosciutto is chopped up super small so it's perfect and not all stringy like it can be at times) which comes with mascarpone, pistachios, arugula and lemon curd. My other fave is the brie, green apple with honey and sea salt. Another thing to mention is I'm not a huge brie person BUT I adore it if it's triple cream brie. This my friends, is triple cream so it's fantastic.
-The fries are also fantastic and the chocolate chip cookies are fire. I'm not even a sweets person but I inhaled it when I tried it. It was delish.
-Italian chopped salad- so good and really light but somehow filling at the same time. In the best way possible. I get it all the time.

They have a huge wine selection both at the bar and in their fridge section which you can browse while you're in line. They have a wine club as well!

I always love a more local mom n pop type place in general vs chains and this place is just a vibe no matter what time of day you go. The word is definitely out though so it can get busy so cozy up at the bar for a cold one while you wait if you run thirsty like me, ha! Or they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want a nice breeze. The owner is rad, the entire staff is sweet, accommodating and overall they just absolutely nailed it here. Go see what all the hype is about, you'll leave with a full belly and a smile.“

“I booked Davina’s Glow and Paint for my birthday last night and it was truly unforgettable! From start to finish, Davina went above and beyond. She was incredibly accommodating with all the last-minute changes our group had, and she handled everything with such patience and grace.

“I wanted to surprise a special couple with two bottles of wine--one specifically for her and one specifically for him. I surreptitiously found out that they like going to La Costa Wine Co. and that Connor knows their profiles. So, I called the shop, asked for Connor, and explained what I wanted to do and who the bottles were for.

Ten stars to Connor! His passion for what he does was palpable through the phone. Almost immediately after I told him who I wanted to buy wine for, he told me they'd just walked into the shop. He went into a different room so they wouldn't overhear our conversation. Connor asked me about the price range I was interested in, we discussed a few options, and we landed on a red and a white that he was confident my friends would enjoy. When I asked if they like to munch on anything while they're drinking their wine, he said, Yes! The truffle popcorn. So, I added that to the order. The next day, I picked up the bag with the bottles of wine and the popcorn, and delivered it to her where she works. The best part of the surprise was that my friends loved the wines and, of course, the truffle popcorn!

My next visit to this shop will be to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine :)“

“My husband and I have been here for the very first time and we immediately fell in love with this place. The staff is amazing, they know how to treat you and make you feel at home. Alice is very passionate about her job and we loved her homemade desserts sooo much. A special mention to Michele, a very young yet extremely professional waiter, who contributed to create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere! As Italian, I can say it's hard to find place such Alice's where you feel so vividly the warm of our country. We will definitely come back!“

Corner Pizza has imaginative blends of fresh spices and ingredients that make each pie a special occasion. Add to that their excellent selection of local craft beers and wines, and it walks ahead of any other local pizza restaurant. Music and a mellow laid back patio tops it off. This is a very good place. You should try it. You'll be back.“

“Went with a group of friends for an evening out and did the wine pairing to maximize the experience. The service was great, the wine pairing wines were well selected, but a few of the dishes missed the mark. Struggled between giving a 3 or a 4 rating because of the mixed dish experience but know restaurants live or die by these reviews so erring on rounding up to a 4.

Nectarine bruschetta: 3/5 delightful and fresh start but the toast was a little burnt and very crunchy.

Beef carpaccio: 4/5 well seasoned and delicious but found the bell pepper curd a little strong and overwhelmed the palette.

Poached Sea Oof this one was a struggle. I really wanted to like it but found this to be a huge let down. Sea Bream is a delicate and delicious fish but didn't find much flavor in the fish, sauce, or vegetable accoutrements. My fish filet also had many bones which really hurt the experience. The whole table was not a fan. Giving a 2 because it was beautifully cooked but missing flavors and textures (other than the bones).

Chicken best dish of the night. A few of the mushroom bites were a little tough but cleaned my plate and found everything else delicious

Cherry tiramisu: 4/5 cherries to tiramisu ratio was good and gave a rich bite but wasn't anything groundbreaking.

Ultimately, I did not leave hungry (which has been my experience with a few tasting menus in the past) but wasn't wowed. Maybe when the menu changes I'll have a change of heart but probably is not a repeat experience“

“Carvers Rancho Bernardo is about old values and quality! We, Realtors, give a very high rating, all around, especially to the friendly and professional Staff. Unfortunately, We can not say the same for Manager. It’s obvious, he needs to learn some culture and manners from the Staff Members. We just recently heard, he verbally hurt a number of loyal Carvers’ customers, including few of us, with his dishonest and rude behavior…for no reasons, at all. To make it worse: He walks away, and does not allow the smallest comment. Mr. Manager, while you were in the first grade, we, the old Patrons created the “Desired Image” of Carvers, by our frequent attendance and positive word of mouth among Newcomers!“

“iI you are looking for a fun atmosphere with yummy food and drinks, this is your place. This was our impromtu date night and we will be back. We had riesling, beer, spicy chicken wings, garlic noodles, and the yummiest over baked and glazed brussels sprouts. To top it off, we ordered the bread pudding cream brulee and I must say the flavors of the vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, chocolate, and creme brulee all melts in your mouth. get ready for a party 🥳 in your mouth. Highly recommended.“
