“Consistently wonderful service and food! The lamb was some of the best I've ever had - perfectly seasoned and cooked. Both appetizers we had, the crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms and slow roasted meatballs, were fabulous with big flavor. Portions were nicely sized and we felt we got great value for our money. Beautiful restaurant with a modern twist on old-time dark wood steakhouse decor. Great, lively bar with great wine selection as well. The Caymus Wine Flight was delicious and great value. “Rosinas is consistently excellent authentic Italian food. The only food downside ( which is why I gave Food a 4 out of 5 rating), is their Ceaser salad...it is consistently bland, really watery, and tasteless...such an unpleasant surprise given that ALL of the other salads are so delicious, and ALL of the other food is delicious. Rosina, PLEASE update the Ceaser salad..it is really awful.“

“My husband and I have been here for the very first time and we immediately fell in love with this place. The staff is amazing, they know how to treat you and make you feel at home. Alice is very passionate about her job and we loved her homemade desserts sooo much. From the moment you walk in, there’s a genuine sense of community. I met some amazing people and truly felt the family atmosphere that the owners have created. A big part of that comes from the team—Alessa, Reggie, Fernando, Andrew, Connor, Trianna, and Shawn—who were all fantastic: welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging, making the experience feel personal and relaxed.
The space has a modern wine-cellar vibe, complemented by a really well-curated mix of music. You can immediately tell the owner is hands-on and has a great eye for building a team that fits the culture—friendly, passionate, and never pretentious.
I visited a couple of Sundays in a row and found it to be the perfect balance: not overly busy, but lively enough to feel engaging and social. “We came up to Del Mar for the day, as newbies, and found the Monarch from reviews. We accidentally entered on the rooftop patio area, where you can order food and drinks at the bar (rather than doing table service inside), and we're so glad we did! We shared a turkey club (delish) and got two very tasty (and strong) drinks for some pre-shopping energy. Highly recommend the Mai Tai🌸. You can't beat the view!“

“Fettuccine Ortolana was very good, pasta is fresh, cream sauce was just right. Our server Danko knew the menu well and recommended their special of the day, risotto with scallops, calamari and lobster on top. It was very good. Plates are a good size portion, not too little or too much. Their house made Belgium chocolate bread pudding with ice cream alone would have me coming back. Prices are fair. overall we’re glad we chose this spot for dinner and would definitely come back.“

“This wasn’t some nice restraunt it is literally just a bar but the waitress was amazing and made sure we were taken care of the whole time even we it become busy. The food was pretty good. They had sports on the tvs as you would expect. Cleanliness was okay. The drinks were good and they gave us samples of whatever we wanted. Overall I was pleased with the experience.“

“The food here is something unique when it comes to pizza. The pizza varieties are excellent, and the dirty crust option is a must! The Ceaser salad is great, but what happened to all the capers? They are almost nonexistent in the salads now. Lately, the pizza has been burnt or undercooked, super bummed about that, and hoping the consistency returns.“

It’s a warm, welcoming pizzeria and Italian restaurant tucked away in La Costa, and it’s quickly become one of my new favorites. “Been going to Ruth's Chris Del Mar for 20+ years. It had always been the family's go-to steakhouse. Lately, however, the quality of the steaks have been off-- don't taste as fresh. Several times, the steaks have been overcooked (and undercooked) and have been recooked entirely. The management is very good about replacing if not fully satisfied. The service is always wonderful. Just wish for the melt-in-your-mouth quality steaks of the past.“
