“Moved out of San Pablo for awhile, came back and I knew first thing I wanted to eat was the pad Thai, chicken satay and to finish it off a plate of mango w/ sticky rice and coconut milk with a glass of Thai ice tea. Was literally like $35. Pretty cheap for really great food I’ve seen worse prices lol
Also the owners/staff is always always great. Don’t listen to these people they’re not rude, I’ve been coming here since I was 12 years old I’m 24 now. Do I know their names? Nope. do they know me ? Nope. Just go already Jesus Christ. It’s delicious. Don’t get too spicy if you do good luck.“

“We’ve been coming to Noodle 21 for over 5 years now, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots! My husband introduced me to this place, and over time I found my perfect pho order — #21 with thin egg noodles, no bean sprouts, and soup on the side.

Back in August 2024, the original owner told us he was leaving and passing the business on to his partner. He was always so kind, always made time to chat with us, and greeted us warmly every visit. I was pregnant at the time, so sadly, he never got to meet our baby — but we’re happy to say we’ve kept coming back and still love it just as much as day one.

The staff now is just as welcoming. They remember us, they remember our baby, and it truly feels like a place that values its regulars. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is comforting and familiar. We’re so glad this spot continues to thrive, and we look forward to many more meals here as a family.“

“I have been meaning to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Located in a beautiful white store front the food is just as good as the whole aesthetic of the restaurant.

I got Khao soi curry and a seafood noodle dish. It was fast delicious and fresh.

The service also was incredible. Totally mom and pop vibe where everyone hustles, is friendly and delivers just a great experience.

“This restaurant is out of the fray of crazy Berkeley traffic, in a quaint brick building off the beaten track. Parking was easy and we walked into a warm atmosphere with high ceilings, long tables with comfortable chairs and professional service. “First time eating in this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We had the steamed dumplings with crab, garlic fried rice, whole branzino with fish sauce and green beans with mushrooms and half half purple rice and jasmine rice. They were all delicious.
The steamed dumplings came out right away but we had to wait awhile for the next dish. Then the green beans and mushrooms came out which were perfectly crispy and in an oyster/fish garlic sauce. The next dish didn’t come out for a long time. We were so hungry that we essentially ate the entire side before our second two dishes came out.
It was obviously not our server’s fault. The kitchen could have timed it better.
We did not have any beverages nor dessert. The bill to $148 with an above average tip. We will be back but it’s not going to be a regular thing due to the price.“

“This is my new favorite restaurant. I am always thinking about the food the day after. Lately whenever I am in Berkeley I stop here if I am hungry. The flavor of the food blows me away every time. I've been to about 10 thai restaurants around the bay and this is so far my favorite. I've had 6 different dishes off the menu and each one really impressed me with the flavor. Vegetables are very fresh and cooked well. The flavor of the sauces and how they season their food is just so good. The food is truly delicious. I can tell there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options but also plenty for the meat lovers. Lots of seafood and even some duck. Ive had the pork, chicken, and beef. All delicious. The yellow curry was amazing. Nothing is too strong. The flavors are strong but balanced. Amazing food.“

“We've only done takeouts from this spot. They have some tables for dine in but it seems most people get takeouts or delivery from here.

The Khao Man Gai (Thai style) favor is good and their soup is one of the best chicken soup I've had. However, they reduced the amount of the chicken recently (compared to when they just opened), and the thickness of the meat is also much thinner(1/4 or 1/3 of an inch at almost at the thickest part). I don't like restaurants that do this and would prefer they increase the price. Otherwise you get the food and realize it's not as filling as it used to be.

Considering it's just rice, sauce and cucumber as the other ingredients, I think the price they charge warrants more chicken meat.

5 stars for the flavor but minus 1 star for the portion size.“

“I definitely enjoyed the Mango Fried rice dish along with the garlic noodles. Had Thai Iced Tea, which is always a treat. I did call this order in for pick up. When I got there I had to wait a minute, because they were busy but it wasn't long. They gave me an extra Thai iced tea on the house, I didn't need it. Yet it shows the type of business I'm eating at. The ambiance is very welcoming. The art work on the walls of the culture is beautiful. My family and I have Thai food at least 2-3 times a week, so we have tried many (and I mean MANY) Thai restaurants over the decades, and without a doubt we all agree that Bua Luang offers the freshest, tastiest, and most delicately prepared Thai cuisine of all. Every dish is packed with the freshest ingredients. The flavors and textures are amazing. Restaurants in Thailand don’t make a Pad Thai as delicious as the Pad Thai at Bua Luang—believe us, we have tried Pad Thai all over Thailand and we still longed for the Pad Thai at Bua Luang. The chef at this restaurant is a culinary master!

Not only are the dishes at this restaurant superb, the atmosphere is serene and delightful. The indoor space is clean, cozy, and modern with soft old-world touches and whimsical lighting. The ambiance music is very pleasant. It’s not too loud, and it’s easy to talk with and hear others in your party. Service was very slow for our order which seemed pretty straightforward: a soup and padthai. Other guests were served more quickly; people at the next table ordered just before we did, got their food, ate and left beforewe got our food?!? On another note, we were not able to dine on the terrasse since it was a bit chilly and there is only one heater that is broken. Buying more heaters should be made a priority. “The Noodle is a fantastic Thai restaurant that brings authentic Thai food to Berkeley. It's small and casual, making it a really great place to bring your friends. It's also delicious and affordable, making the food addictive. My family and I have eaten here many times for all those reasons.

The menu at the Noodle is extensive, so much so that it is hard to pick a favorite. I've been here enough to summarize the following menu highlights. The fried spring rolls, fried calamari, and larb are the best appetizers I've had in this town. The Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew here are fresh-tasting, delicious noodles you've got to try. If you can handle a little spice, then try the Pad Kee Mao as well. If you like fried chicken, the fried rice with fried chicken and the crispy mango chicken are incredible! And I would also recommend a tase of the Massaman Gai curry before you top everything off with the fried ice cream or the sticky sweet rice with mango.

If you haven't tried it yet, I would definitely try it. I know I'll be back for more!“
