“So much to say… but ultimately, Colossus in Long Beach is WONDERFUL!! The BEST BLT I’ve ever had. Because they use high quality ingredients! Their Soft-Scrambled Egg Toast is divine. And everything is beautifully fresh. I love their country bread, baguettes, olive cumin bread, dinner rolls… but I have so much more to try Their pastries are scrumptious: Pecan Sticky Bun, Cardamom Bun, Kouign Amann, Financier, Marzipan Croissant, Sea Salt Brownie, OG Chocolate Chip Cookie. It’s all amazing and I’ve brought a number of friends to show off this incredible Belmont Shore Bakery. On Friday nights Colossus serves pizza into the night. Again, high-quality ingredients make their pizzas delicious. Plus they have interesting and unique combinations. They are tip free because their starting wage is $21/hr. Great customer service. Cute little space with some lovely specialty spice mixes, food items, merch, and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating, and they serve tasty coffees and teas. Colossus feels like a little bit of Europe on 2nd Street.“

“Wow! An absolutely gorgeous cake for our Lord of the Rings Cosplay birthday party! Our six year old chose a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and was yummy. No organic options for the cake ingredients, but it was quick turnaround time from the day we place the order to pickup time. Thank you!“

“Love it miss it. When I lived around the corner I would go all the time. Everything they have is good. No matter what you get you can’t go wrong. The service is friendly. Make sure you bring cash. You’ll want to go back again and again. And as a bonus you also get to meet some of the people there in the neighborhood as well as some of the people you already know. Parking can be rediculous as it's mall parking, best to NOT park where Google tells you to (in front of the main entrance to PF Chang's and Lazy Dog) and go over to the side of the building by the entrance to the Mitsuwa Food Court for easiest access!

“Marsha was incredible. We were looking for someone who could provide all the dessert for our wedding, bring us something other than a traditional wedding cake experience, and also bring some extra flair to our big day. Marsha did all that and more. Our cake table was decorated so beautifully! She made the most delicious cupcakes of all different flavors for our guests to enjoy. She even made an ADORABLE cake topper for us that everyone raved about. In addition, Marsha made us a gorgeous, delicious, moist 3 layer cake , and she even was able to bring a ROLLED ICE cart too! People could not get over how cool it was to have rolled ice cream at our wedding, especially because Marsha had extra cupcakes to put in with the ice cream. She was so collaborative, easy to work with, and fun. Everything we asked her to do, she accommodate, often gently giving her sage advice along the way. We could not possibly recommend Marsha any higher than we do. She is absolutely incredible and soooo many people raved about their experience with her at our wedding. 10/10 for everything!!“

“What a cute bakery! I got an iced masala chai, a fruit tart, and a pepperoni mozzarella bagel and I don’t know which one I loved the most! Probably the fruit tart because it was SO FRESH! The chai tea was delishhh and the bagel definitely filled me up! Support this business, BUY LOCAL, BUY SMALL-TIME!!! We have to support people who are truly making a difference and going above and beyond!“

“Came here for Brioche with ricotta, honey, and pistachio. Got two croissants which were Strawberry & cream and Bacon & onion for togo. For Brioche I requested for honey on the side because I prefer to adjust the sweetness by myself and it was perfectly scrumptious. Millions out of ten! Brioche itself was soft, buttery, and tasty so it complimented very well with ricotta and honey plus a bit crunchy from pistachio. Oh one bite and I was blown away. My taste buds were dancing happily. Let’s talk about croissants. Normally, I tend to like savory croissants more than sweet croissants. However, after I tried both of them, strawberry and cream is the winner. I really like the filling. I’m not sure if it’s mascarpone or something else that went really well with strawberry jam. It’s so freaking good! Bacon and onion croissant was not bad at all but as I stated earlier, strawberry & cream is the winner for me.“

“I ordered their mocha for the first time and I was so so sad that I didn't try it sooner. Heaven in a cup! I used to say that about the flat white from Offset Coffee until this year. “Great small location with delicious pastries. I've had most of them and I can't quite choose a favorite because they are all so good. Give this place a try and visit too. Don't forget to order their fresh brewed coffee as well. Yummmm!“

“This tiny bakery is THE best! The conchas and elotes pasties are my standard order here (but you really can’t go wrong with most anything else behind those glass cases. The cream cheese and pickled jalapeño bolillos are fantastic!), but they sell out quickly, especially the vanilla conchas. When I fly back home (Albuquerque), I’ll call night before, or super early morning day of, and they very kindly set an order aside.
I’ve also ordered the Tres Reyes cake here, and it did not disappoint! I’ve never NOT been stuck with a whole round of this cake, when I’ve picked one up from the grocery store. But Ramirez’s had people going back for 2nds, in spite of increasing their odds of getting “the baby” folded into it, and therefor having to host a party -it was soft and pillowy and tasty.
This place is a true gem. Definitely try them out, but be sure to bring cash, as they are cash only -strictly. But if you forget, there are a couple of stores in the strip with ATMs.

“Cara Mia catered my mother-in-law's memorial service beautifully and on quite short notice. The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. They went above and beyond to help make this difficult day easier and we were blown away not only by their compassion, but the quality of their baked goods! The memorial guests devoured everything and many of them remarked to us how great the food was :) I can't recommend Cara Mia enough and hope to visit again under happier circumstances. I do want to try one of their smoothies next time. Total cost for 1/2 dozen donuts, two blended mochas, and a #7 was about $21 if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, hella worth the price.“

In our exchange, I saw all the beautiful sweets and goodies she makes and she was so generous as to send me a cake to try!
