“If you’re looking for authentic Japanese traditional sweets in Gardena, Chikara Mochi is a must-visit! Their yaki dango (similar to mitarashi dango) is absolutely delicious—soft, chewy, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet.
They also have a beautiful selection of wagashi and mochi that are almost too cute to eat. Everything is colorful, photogenic, and clearly made with care.
The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the different sweets, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back and try more!“

“Absolutely loved this place! The Japanese sweets are authentic, beautifully made, and wonderfully high quality. I especially appreciate that they’re not overly sweet, which lets you really enjoy the delicate flavors. The portions are on the smaller side, but the quality and attention to detail make them well worth it. A lovely spot for anyone who enjoys refined Japanese-style sweets!“

“I ordered Doordash delivery (two drinks and a small cake). The cake was not delivered. I planned on canceling the order, but the owner of Smoking Tiger called me, apologized profusely, and delivered the cake to me herself! She was so kind and generous and I didn't expect that at all.
The jeju matcha and misugaru were delicious. I don't know of any other teahouses in the Gardena area that serve misugaru, so that's a great treat.
Great food and drinks, and outstanding service. You have a forever customer, Smoking Tiger. Thank you and God bless you!“

“I wanted to try this out because when I went to Japan they had spaghetti in the 711 and I kid you not one of the best spaghetti ever and eating this spaghetti did the same thing was amazing and I would eat it again. If I lived near by the area I would definitely make it a habit to visit. As I don't. Unless I'm in the area I won't drive out this far but 100% worth the drive if it's near by you.“

“As others have said, don’t let this inconspicuous shop fool you. These mochi have incredible flavor and texture, and while they are a few dollars a piece, I think hand crafted sweets deserve a little support, no?
The person that helped me was friendly and explained the various flavors so I could fill a 10pc box with a variety. My favorites were the pink mochi and imo manju. Bring cash!“
“Located inside the smaller Tokyo Central on Main, this is one of those places that you want to gate keep to yourself because you don’t want this place going viral.
Hands down one of the best Japanese bakery in the greater Los Angeles area. Everything is made in house. The soft and fluffy texture is what makes their bread really special, and everything is super fresh.
My favorite is the curry croquette roll ($3.25), French toast ($2.75), mini cream puffs ($4.50), melon pan custard cream ($3.50), and fig walnuts bread loaf ($5.30). Everything is so good here, I always end up buying way more than what I intended to buy.
The cashier lady working is so kind and if she has any extra bread, she will throw in one for free with your purchase.
Make sure to bring your own bag as they will charge for a plastic bag.
Free parking in the shared open parking lot.
Highly recommend.“
“I love buying custom cakes frm Maggy. She is always very detailed, easy to talk to and makes the best cakes. Everyone loves them, she did my daughters birthday cake and I called her last minute. She went beyond my expectations for sure. She made another amazing cake which was yellow cake with Chocolate Ganache. As you can see we have enjoyed the cake. It was Inspired by the Holidays and she went above and beyond. Don’t hesitate to call her for your cake needs. She makes very delicious cakes, and they all are very unique.Thank you Maggy.“

“Refreshing Korean shaved ice with fruits. (Not to be confused with Hawaiian shaved ice.) The price tag appears a little steep for ice at first glance, but it is more substantial in content and presentation, so it is not as bad in the end. A better price point would be a dollar less.“
“i have to say La Mousse has some of the best deserts I have ever had. My only problem is that I always eat too much because they taste so good.“
“I came here to deliver 5 pallets of refrigerated yeast at LITTLE BROTHER BAKERY there are two companies here make sure you know which you delivering at FCFS from 7am to 12pm in a 53 ft trailer. “Beard Papa makes delicious cream puffs. They have an assortment of shells and fillings which you can create delicious treats. These cream puffs stay firm, days after they’re filled and still delicious. These make terrific sweet treats, gifts or a simple dessert. Next time you’re thinking of buying a cake or pie, get a box of these instead, you’ll thank me. The store front counter is right in front if you, its always clean and the staff are very polite. This is inside a Japanese market, you can shop for groceries and other food stalls too. There is plenty of parking in the lot.“

“The Chili and Cornbread was delicious. Chili was a nice mix of Meat and Beans, just right on the seasoning.
The Chicken Pot Pie was perfect, really nice thick crust and pie filling wasn't soupy like the way a lot of restaurants serve it.
Service was excellent.“
“Nice little Mexican bakery I ran into on Gardena blvd. Missed breakfast and was looking for something quick. Picked up a small half round bread with some sugary topping and another one with some chocolate in the middle of a croissant looking bread. It was good for a buck.“
