“Stopped in to watch some football and grab a bite n' a beer. The food and beer selection were excellent. They had several hazy IPA options available, which is always a plus in my book. Both the staff and regulars were all fairly knowledgeable regarding football if you're into that.

We spoke to a gentleman about the last minute issue and he was more than willing to accommodate us to get an order out on a 48 hour notice - I am so so so grateful

So we ordered a greek salad with feta which arrived very fresh and it was delicious!! We had a charcuterie type tray along with the 3-cheese pasta. We also had a tray of garlic bread which we forgot to get a picture of. Our team really enjoyed the food and we are definitely going to add this caterer for future orders. “Their Eastern European beer selection is fantastic! Which is better, Lithuanian or Ukrainian beer? It might take me 10 years and hundreds of liters to decide, what with all the Polish, Czech, German and Latvian beers confusing my decisions. And most everything in the deli case goes well with beer: chebureki and piroshki pies, hearty picnic salads and slaws. Their wines are diverse and interesting, the cookies are good with their teas, and the frozen pilmenyi and varenyki make a good change from ravioli once in a while. I avoid the cakes and sausages, although they are delicious I need to diet after all the beer and siberian pilmenyi. Well, maybe one sausage...“

Our group of 6 was easygoing about not being able to order some things we'd wanted. The disappointment didn't last long because what was available was very good.“

“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

First off the food is top notch it’s so delicious and creative. There has not been a meal that has not been amazing. Mary herself is an amazing top notch person who goes the extra mile to alter the menu to your needs. She offers so many options to help cater to her customers. “First visit, weeknight, not crowded. Food very good to excellent. Beet trio appetizer superb. Not clear if the 3 dipping sauces were for beets or brisket but good either way. Fiancee had wagyu burger, excellent. I had the combo plate…brisket a tad dry, fried chicken very good, corn bread muffin & cole slaw great. Extensive wine list, top labels. We shared a flight and each had a glass of bubbly. Portion size good … I had leftovers for breakfast. Server Jeff casual but on the ball with advice. Menu somewhat limited, especially for vegans.“

I got stuck in this commercial cesspool for four and a half hours and wandered around for 3 of them trying to find decent food worth the price or some store that wasn't marked up for garbage. No dice. Finally found this place tucked away, so thankful. Had a couple drinks and chatted with old locals. Definitely support this place.
