Staff always attentive and in particular a member of staff who came to my son who had made his confirmation, had a chat with him, went away and came back with a selection of desserts for him to take home. We spoke to a gentleman about the last minute issue and he was more than willing to accommodate us to get an order out on a 48 hour notice - I am so so so grateful

So we ordered a greek salad with feta which arrived very fresh and it was delicious!! We had a charcuterie type tray along with the 3-cheese pasta. We also had a tray of garlic bread which we forgot to get a picture of. Our team really enjoyed the food and we are definitely going to add this caterer for future orders. “This store is owned and operated by people who enjoy food and enjoy other people. The foods are marvelous. The store is small, But instead of feeling crowded and cramped it feels magically welcoming and intimate. I took home wonderful brown bread, sausages and lunch meats, real kefir and KVASS! ( If you don't know what that is, you've never lived) I took home yummy cabbage rolls and real blitzes.

But the really special thing I took home from the store Is a magic potion called welcome. In that little space I wasn't just another source of money I was a friend that hadn't happened yet. The smiles, the helpfulness,,the readiness to answer questions and explain made me instantly at home.

I now know three grocery stores that offer delicious and rare eastern European foods. The one in San Francisco is large, has almost everything and is very efficient but it's a rare treat because of traffic, tolls and scarce parking. The one in Concord is closest but I never felt welcome there. This one is worth the extra drive!“

“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

We shared a flight and each had a glass of bubbly. Portion size good … I had leftovers for breakfast. Server Jeff casual but on the ball with advice. Menu somewhat limited, especially for vegans.“

I got stuck in this commercial cesspool for four and a half hours and wandered around for 3 of them trying to find decent food worth the price or some store that wasn't marked up for garbage. No dice. Finally found this place tucked away, so thankful. Had a couple drinks and chatted with old locals. Definitely support this place. In general I'll be avoiding the area but if I ever find myself there again I'll definitely go in for a drink and to get a brake from the depressing retail area outside.“
