“As always, another wonderful meal in Bijou. Staff always attentive and in particular a member of staff who came to my son who had made his confirmation, had a chat with him, went away and came back with a selection of desserts for him to take home. He made him feel very special on his big day. Unfortunately I don't know this staff member's name but we recognise him from previous visits where he has always gone above and beyond.“

We spoke to a gentleman about the last minute issue and he was more than willing to accommodate us to get an order out on a 48 hour notice - I am so so so grateful

So we ordered a greek salad with feta which arrived very fresh and it was delicious!! We had a charcuterie type tray along with the 3-cheese pasta. We also had a tray of garlic bread which we forgot to get a picture of. Our team really enjoyed the food and we are definitely going to add this caterer for future orders. “In case you're not familiar with this place, it is tucked away down an alley from Redwood Road, which can make it a little tricky to find. Beyond that, they have items from places like Germany, Poland and similar countries from those regions in Eastern Europe. What makes this place stand out from some other European markets that I have seen, is they make many of their pastries onsite. On top of that, they have a decent refrigerator section with meats and other items that might be difficult to find at other places as well, and the staff is really helpful too. It's one of those places that make exploring other food cultures fun and interesting or just familiar for those who already have this established in their life.“

The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

“After searching for healthy options in the area this came up on my search and found the website and after reading Mary’s story I was game to give it two weeks. First off the food is top notch it’s so delicious and creative. There has not been a meal that has not been amazing. Mary herself is an amazing top notch person who goes the extra mile to alter the menu to your needs. She offers so many options to help cater to her customers. I wish her and her business the absolute best. “First visit, weeknight, not crowded. Food very good to excellent. Beet trio appetizer superb. Not clear if the 3 dipping sauces were for beets or brisket but good either way. Fiancee had wagyu burger, excellent. I had the combo plate…brisket a tad dry, fried chicken very good, corn bread muffin & cole slaw great. Extensive wine list, top labels. We shared a flight and each had a glass of bubbly. Portion size good … I had leftovers for breakfast. Server Jeff casual but on the ball with advice. Menu somewhat limited, especially for vegans.“

In general I'll be avoiding the area but if I ever find myself there again I'll definitely go in for a drink and to get a brake from the depressing retail area outside.“
