“I don’t know who these people are that are giving XLB anything less than 4 stars but we’ve been here countless times and it’s our favorite dim sum in the area! Get to know the owner and you’ll be glad you came here often enough to get to know her. She’s the best! We come here often on Sundays but we also come for lunch on Christmas Eve with our family. Our favorites include the Mixed Cilantro with Dry Shredded Tofu, Mixed Fresh Cucumber with Garlic Sauce, Szechuan Chili Oil Wonton, XLB, Green Onion Pancake, Pea Shoots.“

“okay, I love Sichuan and Hunan style because they have so much flavor. there's also Shanghai cuisine, which has flavor without the chillies of Sichuan/Hunan.
today, we went to Fremont to Shanghai Flavor. it's a super good Shanghainese restaurant.
it opens at 11.30 on Saturday. within 20 minutes, it was full. folks, it's a small place, but that's fine. great service.
if you can, get an order of moon cakes. only available on special occasions.
if you're on the peninsula, we're lucky to have Chef Zhao Kitchen in Palo Alto.“

“I was surprised by the large portion sizes. The waitress made great recommendations! Everything looks great, tastes great and this is a great go to spot I’ll go to whenever I am in town!“

“Came here for a casual date night on a Friday. Place was pretty empty for a Friday which meant we got seated right away, and staff was friendly throughout. Portions run small so plan to order more than you think you need. Still a great value. For the food itself:
The Dan Dan noodles are the move. Oily, salty, spicy, and the Sichuan peppercorns actually numb your face and stick around. Makes sense they're the most popular thing on the menu.
Chicken xiao long bao were good but the broth inside was weak compared to other places I've had them. Still good though.
Chicken potstickers were well executed, good crisp on the bottom, but nothing standout about them.
Sweet and sour cucumber was a solid starter and looked nice, but the slices were too thick to actually be able to rip out.
The egg fried rice is really good. Oilier than most but that's exactly why it works.“

“Fantastic spot for Shanghainese food. Went here for dinner a few days ago and got sauteed sliced pork with pepper and chili and sauteed eggplant with potato and green bell pepper. Both were very flavourful, fresh, and well portioned. The pork was especially good, being very tender and flavourful. I'll definitely be back.“

“I was very surprised by the food quality and items they have on offer.
I live nearby but never came in because I thought the food here would be another one with offers of many heavy fried dishes.
I wished that I came by to try here earlier than now. The food is authentic and tasty.
All those times I'm looking for good casual Chinese places but have to settle for something below par? Well, no more, I will just come here instead.“
