“I had such a great experience at Orange Square! The atmosphere is warm, modern, and welcoming — a perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the service felt genuinely thoughtful. I especially appreciated the small touches — clean space, good music at the right volume, and the kind smiles from everyone there.“

“I am only rating the popcorn chicken. It’s legit. There’s a wait because it was made fresh and they did provide a warning. It was good. Juicy and for a walk around snack to share between people….it works. I’ll take this snack over the pretzel. However, I can’t provide an opinion on the other items.“

“I can tell from the quality of food, decor, cleanliness, and environment that a lot of thought was put into this restaurant. The food was incredible - very fresh and tasty. They were also kid-friendly (small details like corner protectors on the chairs). Our kids enjoyed the toy dispenser and the kids meal. Staff were friendly too. We will definitely be back!
Kid-friendliness: Kids meal, toy dispenser, clean restrooms, and even corner protectors on the chairs!“

“There are quite a few repetitive hot pot ingredients, it would be nice to have more variety. The overall flavor is fine. However, the extra meat slices I ordered weren’t very impressive, they were just boiled and completely unseasoned. It seems they’re meant to be eaten with the hot pot but it would be better if they were served together with the hot pot instead.“

“Another authentic Taiwanese bento place located in San Jose area! Simple, no frills meal but represented traditional Taiwanese "bento box" style meals. Similar to Japanese bento boxes but Taiwanese preferred the bento to be hot so most of the items tends to be hot/warm.
Choice 4 side dishes plus an entree and there goes your quick meal for the day.
Cash or cards.“

“My daughter and I love to go to this place for a quick bite after the grocery shopping. “Mr. Lau's Steak House (劉月鐵板.居酒屋) provides authentic Taiwanese-style steak meal, which left me feeling happy after eating it. The set meal includes black pepper rib eye steak (8 ounces, medium rare), lettuce salad, garlic bread, an egg, and spaghetti. The price is so inexpensive and the meal is so delicious. I definitely will be coming back again and again!“

“This place is spacious inside. If you come during peak time, there's usually a line. Their food comes quickly, so the wait usually isn't too bad.
The XLB is juicy inside and the dumpling size is bigger than Ding Tai Fung's. I'd say the skin is as thin and comparable to Ding Tai Fung's too. We tried all three kinds: the regular pork ones, pork with crab meat, and the shrimp with loofah squash. They're all good.
The flavor of the three-cup chicken is good, however, too many bones. They chopped the chicken with bones and there were fragmented bone pieces. You'll need to be careful when eating this dish.
Their steamed beef dumplings are good, but a bit on the salty side.
The sliced beef and cucumber roll with green onion pancake is so-so. Only has one thin slice of beef and there's not enough meat inside, compared to other restaurants I tried.
Their fried rice are tasty. We tried a few before and they're all decent. The picture below is the Sakura Shrimp fried rice and it's very flavorful without being too salty.
The steamed sole fish (filet) is surprisingly good. Worth a try if you haven't ordered this before, and no fish bones!
Their scrambled eggs with prawns is good. A lot of prawns and tasty eggs. A good protein dish.
Their sauteed veggies are pretty good too. We tried the sauteed A-choy and bitter melon with garlic. Both dishes are decent.
The boiled tofu with house special sauce is excellent.
If you don't want to wait for long line at Ding Tai Fung, this is the place to come. Of course if you want way better (Americanized) service, go to Ding Tai Fung. This service at this place is like typical authentic Chinese restaurants, don't expect too much.“
“Great spot for Chinese food in downtown San Jose. I've been to their Fremont location a few times, but I think this location is a bit better since the portions are bigger, and the food is a lot less oily. My personal go-to dish is the beef wrap and mapo tofu, both of which have been fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned everytime I've been here. Staff are polite and service is pretty quick. The restaurant itself is clean and can get pretty crowded during lunchtime. Overall, definitely worth going to this place.“

“I love eating at red hot wok, probably one of the best Taiwanese restaurants in the area.
Recommended dishes: sizzling lamb with black pepper sauce( you can choose any protein with the sauce, personally I prefer lamb), three cup chicken, stir fried lamb with bamboo shoots.“

“The wonton soup is beyond amazing! Truly the star of the restaurant. I regret getting a combo plate that included a small wonton soup. This is by far the best wonton soup I have ever had.
The popcorn chicken, pork belly, and rice are all just fine. Not nearly to the caliber on their wonton soup. The five tofu was my second favorite dish we ordered. Would recc just doing wonton soup and tofu.“

“4.5 stars. These aren't really burritos, but more like large rice balls with a filling inside. That said, it is really tasty. It's not really enough for a full meal, maybe a quick breakfast or a light meal.
Also, keep in mind, there is no seating whatsoever. This is just a place where you pick up and go. I really recommend ordering in advance, because they are usually extremely slow.“

“I literally stumbled upon this place. Hole in the wall type of place. Looking at the menu outside I seen they had Kung Poa Ha. I ordered this item to take home. The looks of the restaurant wasn't great but the food was amazing. Been looking for a Chinese place to replace my favorite place of 15 years ago. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes from this place.“

I wish the green onion pancakes were vegetarian but I'm very excited to try the rest of the vegan menu and appreciate that they have it!“

“A cozy authentic Taiwanese restaurant in an area decimated by a declining Taiwanese population. This is an absolute gem, the cook should be commended!!
Southland taste recently closed ending 2 different families owning a south bay institution of Taiwanese food. If you are craving that taiwanese omlette rice or minced pork over rice I can vouch!
Wa shi Daiwan Lang. You can trust me if you are a Taiwanese foodie.
Omg update 5/15/25
I just tried their popcorn chicken and its AMAZING. SUPER THING CRISP CRUST AND THEN ALL CHICKEN BABY!!! WHAT THE AMAZING!
Cmere trust. Eat. Profit
Its between Old Republic Title and Chicago Title near Peets coffee, across the street from Jakes!
Re: negative reviews are poorly written and lack any thoughtfulness.
I've been to Taiwan 7 times in the last few years as well as am familiar when Cupertino was taiwanese before all the taiwanese, Koreans and Japanese fragmented left the area in large numbers or moved abroad.
You have to understand that the palate of people that enjoy other DIFFERENT Chinese cuisines will never agree with another Chinese cuisine, same with folks that hate on legitimate American Chinese food which is its own cuisine, there's British Chinese cuisine, Malaysian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Venezuelan Chinese, Chilean, Mexican Chinese etc.
Anything below a 4 is a garbage review with no effort they're either attack reviews from competitors or people that just can't appreciate the mom and pop style of taiwan.
Book a ticket (Taiwan) and eat in Tainan, Khaosiung, Taipei, changhua, jeelung and other places and you'll see what I mean.“

“This is the best Taiwanese night market food I have ever had. Its also the only Taiwanese night market food I have ever had. And now I want to go to Taiwan and visit the night markets. Everything I have ordered from here has been fantastic. The size and quality of the steak has differed slightly from time to time, but I have never been dissatisfied. The sizzling steak plate is really good. I prefer the pepper sauce to mushroom sauce, but sometimes I get combo.. The corn soup and noodles and egg are always great. They don't have any gluten free options (would be great if they offered a rice noodle) , so my wife can't eat here, but when I am dining solo its sort of my go to now. They are fast and efficient as well. the restaurant itself is small but tidy. I can't recommend this place enough, and looking forward to exploring the menu further.“

“It's an older (almost hole in wall) type restaurant
I think it totally depends on what you order some things are solid (4 stars) and others are a bit lower
For example, I had kung pao, 3.5 before. Most of the dishes are 3-4 stars. Mongolian beef 3.5
Pork chop bento 3.75 stars
Today 10/2/25
We had beef stew and tendon 3.75 stars
The meat was really good but the broth, to me was ok. I have eaten at other Taiwanese beef noodle places. I just think their broth is better. It is very authentic but the flavor profile is not as tasty to me as other places
The general chicken was good solid 4 stars
Haven't had dim sum or weekend specials
Small place not too many tables 10 inside and 9 small two seaters patio outside“

“Chi Xiao Guo seems to be gone. Now it’s Liu Yue Teppanyaki Cuisine. They don’t sell hot pot in summer, but the Teppanyaki cuisine is also delicious. It’s very similar to the signature Teppanyaki Noodles at Taiwan’s night markets. Love! Definitely will come again : )“
