“There was a long line and Evan was the only one in register, there were more people in the back and they were doing nothing but staring and laughing at him. There was a white, short girl with glasses that was literally just standing there and not getting in register to help. The food was great and despite being in a rush, he was great to us. When we got our food in our table I tried giving the short, white girl with glasses our tray because I didn’t need it and she tried telling me to keep it or to put it away myself instead of just doing her job. Evan was great“

“I’m just going to say it: the Sweet Country Blues Sandwich at Rise Southern Biscuits in El Cajon is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had.

A sweet blueberry biscuit, savory sausage, American cheese and a fried egg. That combination sounds simple, but it is ridiculously good. The blueberry biscuit is sweet, buttery and soft, and that sweetness against the salty sausage, melted cheese and fried egg is absolutely perfect.

This is one of those rare things you order that halfway through eating it, you’re already thinking about when you can come back and get another one.

My advice? Skip everything else on the menu and get this. Don’t overthink it. Get the Sweet Country Blues Sandwich and you’ll thank me later.“

“Food is always on point and the people very friendly. But I wonder how important cleanliness is, it feels that everytime I go, the tables and floor are a mess. I get that a lot are disgusting and don't know how to clean after themselves, but as a restaurant, they should consider cleaning the dinning area. Hope this doesn't come off in a wrong way, but that's an important part in my opinion.“

“Today (8/6/2026) at approximately 12:00 p.m., I went through the drive-thru. I'm not completely sure of the employee's name, but I believe it was Brenda.

I stop by this location almost every day, and I'm usually in a hurry. Brenda is always friendly, professional, and efficient. She consistently gets my order right, and her positive attitude makes every visit a pleasant experience.

Employees like Brenda are becoming harder to find. She clearly takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about providing great customer service. She is a tremendous asset to your restaurant, and I wanted to make sure her hard work and dedication were recognized.“

“The clerk was a nice guy but not keen on the obvious. I ordered a 15 piece wing combo and he asked if that was for here or to go. Who would dine in and eat 15 wings by himself? Chuckled all the way home. Poor guy.“

“This was my family's time first trying out this place and I've got to say the chicken has a unique crisp to it and is very flavorful and it's one of my favorite.

The wings I've had in a very very long time everyone loved him including my kids and the non spicy options were great for them we got the secret sauce as well as the Galbi wings.“

“I ordered something a specific way and it was not what i received, upon stating so to the person that took my order i received what i felt like said- i was putting them out for a shredded chicken instead of chopped. I shut my mouth and sat and ate and about half way through my meal she brought over the original ask. “Great food, loved the chicken I had. Had the hottest of their offerings and loved it. Just a perfect amount of spice and loaded with flavor for me. Jalepano hot I would call it. “Stopped by this location at 2nd Street in El cajon one evening for dinner and my order was messed up only to return the next day and receive a complete new dinner and apology by Karen. Make sure and ask for everything you want, including condiments because California has restricted them on giving them out automatically!! Have always loved Kentucky fried Chicken and will continue to love them excellent food, excellent prices, and incredible customer service. The colonel is only one of two fast foods I will consider to eat because it is such high quality and definitely healthier than most fast food. Thank you and we will see you soon!“
