“10/10 beer, really interesting stuff. Great fermented foods as well, but the beer is really the highlight here for me.I'm told that the selection changes regularly, but stuff leans on the funkier side, with complex ingredients and processes. If you want a boring macro lager, the selection may (appropriately) disappoint. This joint is not for those with narrow palates. But if eclectic combinations or more flavorful brews are your vibe, you'll enjoy the diversity and character of what they've got.“
“I don't know how it took me so long to discover this place. I used to live in NOLA for two years, and the breweries and beer/wine gardens are common places to hangout any time of the day. The good vibes at ShaKa on a Friday night remind me of NOLA quite a bit, but it's too bad yet understandable they close at 9pm.I ordered the beer flight with my cousin. We ordered two flights with the yakitori, so we got to try just about their whole selection. It's great to discover a local brewery in the South Bay and support local businesses. My favorite flavors this night were the dark matter stout, which was chocolatey, and the Yardhouse golden ale. They were fresh from the tap and had a nice crispness. The atmosphere was lively and chill. I would love to come back when there's live music. Staff were friendly and provided recommendations. It is also dog friendly here with plenty of seating inside and outside with space heaters. The parking was a little challenge. Do drive slow as the speed bumps are meant for trucks around this warehouse area and they are HUGE. I hit the bottom of my car not noticing the big speed bumps. The interior is nicely designed and thought out-- very friendly and welcoming.“
“Great vibe with tables on one side to chat with your folks, a bar area to sit and work, and an area with old school arcade games and a pool table. There’s also a cozy seating area with couches and a coffee table. Great beer that rotates and the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and descriptive about their stock of beers (shoutout to Matthew!). Would definitely recommend checking out this spot, great to socialize with a big or small group, to get work done, and to play some OG games! Really enjoyed my experience here!“
“Really love this place. The bartenders are always friendly, the beer selection is great, friendly dogs are welcome, and its an overall great hangout.I understand that some reviewers are confused as to why their under 21 year old children are not allowed inside. This is because Out of the Barrel is, shockingly, a bar.“
“We stopped here randomly to kill a couple hours. Sat and ate loaded tots, drank refreshing beer, and listened to Lavender Fields Band play. We could have sat here all night if it weren’t for our flight. Great place, I’ll come back next time I’m in the area.Parking: Parking is easyKid-friendliness: Saw plenty of kids running around while we’re here they seemed right at homeWheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible“
“Luv their menu!!! It's nice to sit outside or meet a client on the lovely patio. The fajitas are the best, the homemade chips & salsa (ask for the spicy habenero) are an extra $2, just wow! Try Taco Teusdays and Thirsty Thursdays for some deals ?“
“HUGE YUM at the beer here! I came for the first time and was quickly entertained by the Pesky Penguin. I confess, I got it solely for the name even though I'm not a fan of sours but wow did this one come to impress! The penguin wasn't pesky at all and I took two crowlers of it home at the end of the night. Overall everyone seemed happy with their drinks but I remained loyal to the penguin for the evening. The space is big and everything is really nicely spaced so you can focus on the people at your table. Even though half the space was rented for a baby shower there still seemed to be plenty of room and we had no trouble finding parking! Will definitely be back and hopefully next time I can actually take a picture!“
“Escape the hustle and bustle and retreat to this charming hideaway, where draft beer takes center stage. With a rotating lineup of craft brews on tap, there’s always something new and enticing to try. The inviting atmosphere and warm hospitality make it the perfect spot to gather with friends and enjoy the simple pleasure of a cold beer in good company.“
“My little family loves it here! I love that it's somewhat family friendly. I would only recommend if kids are well- behaved, it's right by a parking lot so there's not really space to run around. That said, we love coming here after a family hike. We grab a flight of tasters to share and some snacks. Our kids love the pretzel and we do too. We're not actually huge beer drinkers but like it every now and then so the tasters are perfect. We love the outdoor seating and the loaner games too. Service is prompt and friendly.“
“Blink and you’ll miss this elevated, second story taproom located above Whole Foods. I dropped in around 6 on a Wednesday and the place was poppin like the face of a teenager that just hit puberty. Luckily I was able to order relatively quickly and even luckier, I found a seat that overlooked the intersection with a view of the San José Shark arena, the fabled Shark Tank. The weather was great. The crowd was animated. The bartenders were tag teaming the line like the iconic WWE champs The Hart Foundation. And the Riwaka Juice Double IPA and Textured Shapes Triple IPA were delicious, golden sun goddess kisses to my lips.Notes: there’s an elevator for those that aren’t good with stairs and the restroom is on the first floor, but ask for the code ahead of time or you’ll be sorely disappointed.“
“On a trip for work stopped by for dinner and a beer by myself. SUPER friendly staff at the bar. Juan and the entire staff kept checking onto make sure I had everything I wanted. Great tasty burger and tried a few sample beers to find one I loved to order a glass. Excellent food and beer. Highly recommend“
“Great happy hour prices! Can't go wrong with a Moscow Mule or a Margarita from here. The drinks aren't overly sweet and they don't skimp on the alcohol either. Food portions are pretty big here! Like... impressively big - at least from looking at other orders of nachos and fries. I got the Buffalo Chicken Wings, which were pretty good! Not too heavy on the vinegar, but they were spicy! Very saucy as well.“
“Tucked in the cute little downtown Saratoga is this unpretentious brewery with such an inviting name, which may be mistaken for some other type of eatery or a place of family reunion. Open and airy. Today, the owner seems to be getting ready for St. Patrick's Day, wearing greens and the hat, looking unintentionally cute. I should add that they have Irish music radio on, too. Fantastic! So caring and attentive. Mixed style of furniture and a piano make me wonder what fun stuff could take place once the sun goes down. I was planning to have a pint of hazy IPA. Unfortunately, they don't have it. But the owner kindly mixed two different IPA's for me to taste. I ended up ordering their West Coast IPA, which was equally good as my imaginary hazy IPA. I will come back here for the beer and lounging experience, which is desperately needed and appreciated in the Bay Area.“
