“This place is pretty decent. All I really get here are fish and shrimp tacos. And I think those are pretty darn good. If I'm going out on a limb I get a bean and cheese burrito. No fluff, no nonsense, just a burrito to the dome that makes me fart. 🙂 Anyway, I think it serves better food than the other place in Sierra. Madre that's just my opinion. Service is fast and there's some good people working here. So come here eat a fish taco and shut up. Love, me. 🙂😘“

Rice and beans were perfect addition to smear on the flour tortillas. Good music and good ambiance. Staff are very polite and professional. My iced tea never got even down to half a glass. Chips and salsa were also good. Salsa had a bite but not too much. Chips had just the right amount of salt. Awesome experience here. Im gonna ask to load next door every week. Lol“

“Heading to Boyle Heights to hangout with friends and my hunnis and I stumbled on this bar. The tacos were really good. They were a little pricey but I like trying new spots. I had a fried shrimp taco & grill shrimp taco. My hunnis got an asada taco and a fried shrimp taco as well. They even made me a virgin margarita. We had to park on the streets which could be a hassle but we were fortunate to get a close up spot. We stopped in there on a Friday afternoon and there wasn’t many folks in there. But it had a cool vibe. We will visit again!“

“I was heading to another bar and wanted to try this place out first. I drank some beers, ate some complementary salsa (the chips were really good!), and watched some sports. The place was pretty packed; the private room was occupied.

The service was great. They were efficient even when it was a packed house.

They have a good size parking lot. You can park in the neighborhood for free also.“

This place has a good variety on their menu, but the prized item is their fish tacos. Quite tasty and delicious with green or red (for the more spicy palettes) salsa. “El Pilon Market is such a gem in our community. The food is always delicious—I’ve tried quite a bit of the menu and have never once been disappointed. The staff is amazing, greeting you the moment you walk in. Even when they’re busy, they acknowledge you and let you know they’ll be right with you, which is rare these days and so appreciated.

This week I had an experience that really showed me what kind of place this is. I lost my wallet on Tuesday, and when I came back on Friday to retrace my steps, they had kept it safe for me the entire time. Someone had kindly turned it in (including my cash), and the staff made sure it was taken care of until I returned. That kind of honesty and care is priceless, and I can’t express my gratitude enough.

The owner is phenomenal as well—kind, approachable, and genuinely invested in both the business and the community. Between the amazing food, the welcoming staff, and the integrity they show, I couldn’t be more thankful to have El Pilon Market here.

“Just ate here for the first time. So good, so fresh! I had the chicken molé enchiladas. The molé is the best I've ever had! My wife and daughter had the green chile enchiladas and they raved about them. My youngest daughter had the quesabirria, and again, highest rating. We also had the ceviché. The shrimp were perfectly tender and all the produce is fresh. It does not taste like ANYTHING sits around all day. All our food tasted freshly prepared. Generous portions!
It's a cozy, little place. Very clean and homey. The owner and waitress are so nice and hospitable. We are looking forward to our next visit.
