“When my omnivorous husband likes a plant-based restaurant as much as I do, then I know it’s legit. The food here is fresh and delicious. We’ve tried several things on the menu but, because we don’t live nearby, we make the drive when I have a specific craving - #24, the vermicelli bowl. It is a perfect dish served by kind people at a very reasonable price. It’s always followed up by a complementary portion of dessert, a warm concoction of tapioca & coconut milk whose appearance belies its soulful, comforting, grandmotherly goodness.”

“Progress Brewery use to be my go to. However, most of the time they are out of their most popular drinks. Nevertheless, is a chill brewery with a great athmosphere. The outside patio is nice to.”

“Small mom& pop restaurant. Very 廣東 台山 Cantonese Taishan family style menu for lunch and dinner. Their chicken rice is delicious, juicy tender brown chicken, fragrant rice, just not very Hainan style but I will order again. Their curry pork chop rice, the curry sauce was very yummy unfortunately the fried pork chop was very dry inside. Want to love it so much because the fry job was done right but the meat was too dry. We also order the Chinese sausage salty egg meat Pattie on rice 台山臘腸鹹蛋肉餅飯. That was delicious! They can accommodate bigger group (6+) but best to call ahead. Easier for 1-4 person. There is a free small parking lot on the side and street parking. Even though I gave it 4-star (cuz of the pork chop), I would definitely return to try other items. Very authentic regional Chinese food.”

“I come here a lot with my husband and friends but today was very disappointing. I ordered a torta de asada and was very upset. 5 pieces of black aguacate and half a piece of tomato for the entire torta. Than my husband ordered some tacos and the meat wasn’t seasoned and half of the meat was burned. We are very disappointed we have never been disappointed before this is one of our favorite places to go eat. Today the people working their looked new we paid $37 for our food and are upset.”

“One of the best pizza slices I’ve had in a long time. It rivals spots like Scardino’s, Pizzamania, and King Cole Pizza, but at a much more affordable price. They also offer family packs and extra-huge pizzas for parties at very reasonable rates. The highlight for me is the crust—perfectly toasty and crunchy on the outside, yet soft and flavorful on the inside. And the toppings? Super fresh and delicious.”

“When I first arrived to this restaurant, I didn’t see any other diners and was quite hesitant. But soon enough they proved my ‘pre-thoughts’ wrong.
Definitely one of the best Vietnamese home cooked meals at a restaurant in the area. The flavour is so authentic that can transport you back to the Southern of Vietnam (mien Tay) in a bite. We ordered the lunch set for family and cannot fault a thing. It came with canh chua, ca chien, goi tom thit, ca kho, bap cai chua. Flavour was mouth watering and all very good value for money. This is such a hidden gem. Highly recommend!”

“I was introduced to this spot by my parents who come to their taco truck Friday nights…and may I say it is hard finding great street food. But let me tell you these tacos were DELICIOUS!! I ate the carne asada and pastor tacos. The truck is very clean and visible to see the cooks prepping your food. Condiments and garnishes are provided up front. Grilled onions provided with no extra charge! Will def be the new spot to come for their outdoor service.”

“Super awesome to see, South El Monte has so much Asian foods and they are all delicious. A lot of people in South El Monte love Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese cultures and so the businesses in the area thrive. I also enjoy getting Korean BBQ meats in the South El Monte City or a nice hot meal at the Daikokuya Japanese Ramen place on Garvey. I noticed that a lot of people in Korean Town over in Los Angeles were starting to purchase up commercial real estate and launch businesses in South El Monte. In a recent merger and acquisition of a major grocery store business chain in South El Monte, it had become Korean owned as well and started to add many awesome products such as canned boba drinks. South El Monte is one of the most vibrant, diverse, and sweet pockets of hidden gem Asian foods in California and the San Gabriel Valley. When I go to school on the East Coast, I really miss it.”

The restaurant has TVs placed around the dining area, so customers can stay entertained while waiting for their food. “Wow!! $7 for super large fresh pennywort, kumquat, jackfruit, durian, to more Asian fruit drinks!!! Wish this place was closer to me!! Sugar cane and kumquat is a popular choice and I can see why. The SO loved it but I would ask for a little less sugar cane taste for just myself in the future. I got the pennywort and young coconut which came with some coconut pieces and no sweetener!! Love that! Great for sugar free drinkers. But next time, I'll ask to pay to try a little bit of sugar cane to balance the taste out for myself. They also sell bunch of fruits, ready to eat precut fruits and snacks! $10 for large container of jackfruit!! Super friendly lady.

Parking: Plenty of spots. But it's difficult to get into this plaza during traffic times. Located on the corner of 2 busy streets. But there is a driveway opening from both streets. Store is located on first floor.I'll be back!!”

“This is more of a drinking place where you typically go with a group of friends to drink. Be prepared for loud music if you happen to go any time after 6, it's so loud that you can't even hear what the other person say. My first time going there and it was my last, I just wanted to try it.”

She was very patient attentive and very caring and helpful only downside is the wait was a little long, we were starving but still worth the wait. Without a question we will be back. Nacho fries were great chilaquiles on point my sister got a nopal and eggs she couldn't stop complimenting the food and she's picky. Flan delicious and the bistek ranchero was great wasn't prepared for the red sauce but gave it an extra kick and the pineapple agua Fresca highly recommend.”

“I was running errands and saw this place which peeked my interest. The restaurant is clean, with decent foot traffic, mainly for takeout
I dined in, opting for the 2 delicacy on rice for $14 (choose any meat). I got the soy sauce chicken and bbq pork. I’d say they’re both on the sweeter side than what I’ve been used to. Had to ask for extra soy sauce. The rice itself tasted old - kinda on the dry side. service was fast and friendly.
I’d give this place a 3.5, since I’ve had much better BBQ elsewhere”

“I love their fresh, home-made tortillas. I go every two weeks to replenish my batch. Nothing beats the authenticity of the corn taste on the tortillas. Also, their hot foods are yummy!
They have a variety of medicines from Hispanic countries. Definitely a must try!!”
