“They have the best gorditas around! It’s been a min since I’ve been back. Arrived on a Monday late afternoon and no one was there. Oh yes, call ahead if you want to order the gorditas. Like I mentioned previously they make it from scratch so it takes some time. The lady on the phone said my to go order would take 20 mins. Decided to eat it there and my heart melt! The salsa is bomb, the food is bussin, come support small businesses!

“I am 65 years old. We had dinner at Humble Bird Saturday night. I have never, repeat, NEVER had chicken this good. Crisp, juicy (but not dripping like other places), no grease in sight. We got mild, but used the hot honey supplied and what a combination of flavors. We also got potato salad and slaw. Both great additions to an already wonderful meal. The staff was really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The place was spotless. I live north of Seattle, but would consider driving down just for more of their chicken...Well, and to visit my kids.“

“I was first introduced to Nashville-style hot chicken at Hattie B's in Nashville. Although I've never found anything quite like it here in Los Angeles (Hattie B's chicken serves bone-in whole pieces, marinated through), I'm addicted to Dave's, and love the Extra Hot! (I'll stay away from Reaper...I don't need to try something that requires a signed waiver!)

My go-to is the #4, and their fries are great too. The extra pickles they include are a really nice touch, and the sauce is a the perfect alternate to ketchup, and really goes with the chicken.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I can order at the counter, at a touch-screen kiosk, or on my app. The app has kind of become the easiest option for me now that I've gotten the hang of reordering my usual. I try to limit my fried, fast-food meals, but Dave's is usually my first thought when I'm in the mood to indulge in that kind of treat. If you like spice, it's a must-try!“

“As a Regular here, I’m surprised I have not reviewed this fine established yet! My family and I literally eat from this location ONCE A WEEK! It’s either via DoorDash or GrubHub who ever offers the most Discount that week ;) unless I’m in the area I’ll pick it up. Personally if it was my wish or hope I would replace them with all of Dave’s. I’m surprised they only have 2 locations. The sandwich burst with flavor and most recently Im addicted to the Burrito. Well done fellas. Absolutely love the flavors the spices and of course your smily faces. Great customer service!“

“This place rocks! Friendly staff and convenient location make it a weekly essential. Their online ordering could be better but we always call ahead for pickup and it’s super easy. The double sandwich combo is the best deal on hot chicken you can find anywhere in the area, hands down. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned and the sandwich is fresh and has everything you’d want: breading that doesn’t sacrifice flavor for spice, crunchy slaw and pickles, and juicy chicken, all on a toasty brioche bun. I’d put it up against bigger name hot chicken places in the area that will cost you a whole lot more money.“

“I have loved California Chicken Cafe and eaten here for years, including using their top-notch catering. When I moved away from LA in 2021, this was the place I missed the most. I recently stopped by the Encino location while in town and grabbed my favorite wrap. It was just as incredibly fresh and delicious as ever. The consistency is amazing. My only wish is that they would bring back indoor restaurant seating. I love this place so much. I really wish they would open a location in the Portland, Oregon area!“

“The customer service actually is what I liked the most about this place. I was welcomed when I first walked in, they friendly service and at the end, the employees introduced themselves with their name… something you will not see at most fast food places.
Not a big fan of spicy food here, but the chicken was good. My favorite was the mac n cheese. Definitely coming back here.“

“Zankou Chicken in the Valley is absolutely fantastic! I had the beef kebab and it was amazing. Meet was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. My 12yo said the chicken was tender inside and really good seasoning, he got Medium & hot (wasnt too spicy), fries were bland, needed some salt. Garlic knots were good, but too heavy on the seasoning. Sauce was ok, very tangy. He said the pizza was really good. Prices are a little high. It's a small place, about five tables inside, clean & located in a small plaza. Staff was very welcoming & pleasant.“

“I understand the concern about halal meat. However, asking people to “stay away” seems a bit harsh. A better first step would have been to speak with the manager and ask about their current halal practices before posting such a review.

I personally spoke with the owner of Cluck & Smash and thanked him for welcoming and catering to customers from all backgrounds.

This restaurant serves high-quality beef and chicken, and the food has always been delicious. I will continue to dine here and enjoy their great recipes.

“Used to go to another kfc but the workers there were rude so I tried this kfc, I was pleasantly surprised. The workers were smiling, my food was hot and on time. I asked for sauce she gave me as many as I asked for did it with a smile and wasn't bothered at all. I will be returning here.“

“I ordered the Cobb salad with the avocado lime dressing and it was delicious. It was my very first visit trying out the food. My son and husband also experienced the visit and my son was very pleased with the Chicken Burger. My husband was not happy with his order. He ordered the chicken stripes and they were very small for the price. So there was no way he was going to feel full. But in overall the food my son and I ordered was delicious.“

“I had a group of 3 visit this location for brunch on a Sunday evening. We parked on the street which could be very hard in Hollywood but we got lucky with a spot right in front. The space is a decent size but there's too many chairs and tables that you have to squeeze by. The host sat us at a booth where the table was really low, not thick thigh friendly. The DJ was on point though, dropping all the 90's hits.

We ordered drinks, The Twista and Chicago Fire, (both were good and strong) peach cobbler waffles (good flavor but burnt and dry), fish and shrimp combo (catfish was small but had great flavor), chicken and waffles (chicken cooked perfect, again waffles were dry) and shrimp and grits (perfect 10/10, gravy itself was bomb af). We also ordered a side of greens which came in a small condiment container and definitely not worth the price they're charging for it.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I do expect to go back but I might just skip the waffles next time.“

“I was looking for food for my kids during the worst fire season of LA County’s history. Our favorite spot is closed and my daughter mentions she saw someone on YouTube review this spot in another state. I don’t usually eat food served in a gas station but the chicken, beans and rice, wedges, and biscuits were amazing. I must agree with Sam J (quote from napkin in pic) and say that this chicken is totally worth it. We took it home and it was still very crunchy and tasty. 😋 definitely coming back.
