Not the usual quick innexpensive sushi environment, you pay more, but you get a unique eating experience from someone who is a master of their craft. I don't live in cali but eating here is one of the highlights of my trip, and can't wait to go back when I am in town again.“

“I have been there twice now, and really liked (almost) everything. This is just a personal thing, but the fried rice was a little dry. My impression of Japanese rice is moist and sticky. Theirs not so much. I had the chicken and shrimp combo and it was prepared well and tasted very good. The presentation was very good too. So I would say overall the food and experience was very good and I would recommend it for anyone who wants the experience of Teppan style Japanese food. Considering that you get a show from the cook and the quality of the food I would say the price was what we expected. We went in the afternoon on a Sunday so it wasn't crowded but I expect in the evening on the weekend it gets pretty busy so you might want to make a reservation.“

“Sushi&Wasabi is a quick fix for our Japanese food craving. It’s incredibly convenient, and consistently satisfying. I must add that the stuff is very warm and helpful.

Our family isn’t big on raw fish, so we get sushi like crunch roll and avocado roll. Rice is still warm with all other ingredients done right.
The bento box is a standout: a tasty, full-filling variety of food that hits all the right notes and keeps everyone happy. To top it off, we were treated to the complimentary matcha ice cream for dining in. It is rich, smooth, just delightful.And for the adults, warm sake on a cold day is the perfect touch. Mild, comforting, and best enjoyed responsibly.

“These new owners have made a beautiful sushi bar/restaurant/menu. I have been to this restaurant 4 times now for lunch. Their service has made me feel valued and special each time... Friendly and timely. The ambiance is beautiful and it feels very clean when you walk in. The sushi is SO FRESH, even mid-week, and the special cut rolls are very artistic and delicious. I very much love the no rice rolls selection, and the Chef accommodated me by making a no rice spider roll that wasn't on the menu... Mmmm, Mmmm! I'm bringing friends upon my next visit (Sat. “I just went for a 2nd time last night (1st time was last year) and oh my gosh this place is awesome! not only is the food absolutely delicious and there's a huge variety of things you could get but the service is fantastic and the servers and owner- a young lady we met, are all so nice and helpful and considerate. Throw in the prices are so reasonable compared to many. I so wish there was one closer to my home over on the west side of L.A.,. but I'll just have to make the trip more often!“

“The sushi here is absolutely excellent, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. It’s also such a great value for the price, which makes the experience even better. I especially recommend the vegetarian roll, which was delicious, and the salmon avocado roll, which was perfectly balanced and so satisfying. The specialty dishes are fantastic as well, the crispy tuna dish, in particular, was outstanding and full of flavor.
One detail I really noticed and appreciated was how beautifully they cut the avocado. It’s such a small thing, but it shows the level of care and attention that goes into every plate, making the presentation just as enjoyable as the taste.
I really like that there’s the option to order individual rolls from the menu, which I personally preferred. At the same time, they also offer really good lunch specials that are generous and worth checking out if you want a complete meal at a great price. We came here for dinner and everything exceeded expectations.
Another thing that stood out, aside from the food, was the care and attention from the chef. It’s clear that he pays attention to his customers and takes pride in making sure everyone has a great experience, which adds so much to the atmosphere. The service overall was warm, attentive, and friendly, making the evening even more enjoyable.
I also have to mention the ginger — it was excellent, fresh, and had just the right flavor, which I personally loved. It elevated the sushi perfectly and showed the thoughtfulness that goes into the small details here.
Overall, this restaurant is a real gem. “My absolute go-to restaurant for sushi. The quality is high and consistent. The owner and all the staff are all warm & welcoming - treat you like family. And you'll get to know them by name. Try the Tilapia sushi and the House Roll, you won't regret it.“

“This might be the best ramen I have ever had. I have been to numerous ramen places around California and this takes the cake. The choices are abundant, fully customizable, and tastes amazing! By far the best broth I have had! Highly recommend the original tonkutsu

My only issue is the prices. It is a little high. If the ramen prices were to be reduced by a $1.50 and the soft drink prices were to be something like $2.75, I would come here very often.“

But we are all here for the sushi and again nothing else comes close to comparing in terms of quality. They are switching up what fish is in based on what's in season. “This is a hidden gem in my opinion. I drive from Ventura to this spot for both ramen and sushi. My wife is very peculiar with Japanese food so I was afraid of taking her, yet she loved it. The staff is friendly, their prices are very fair and the quality is excellent.“

“Wanted to try something new in the area and stumbled upon this place for dinner. Overall it was great as there was a huge menu on the wall and the place was well decorated with lanterns with sakura trees. It’s a place where you would come to for something quick. I dined-in since traveling with a bowl of hot udon isn’t ideal. Service was great!

I ordered the Udon with Tempura Shrimp and asked the person at the cashier what they recommend as an appetizer and he stated that the Potstickers were a usual go-to which is what I got. The price for the udon was fairly priced, but maybe not for the potstickers. However, I do understand the economy so it’s reasonable, I guess…

The udon noodles were nicely textured and had 2 pieces of narutomaki (maybe not enough in my opinion). Wasn’t sure what the other things in the udon was but it melted quick. The tempura shrimp are similar to the ones I get at Costco. I believe I was 75% full after eating that complete meal which is a good percentage.“

“We will not return. SOME staff is just too volatile & moody & rude. We have been going here often. The last straw was last Monday at 4:30 pm when the rude Korean waitress Sylvia (?) refused to seat us in the closest booths ( "No those are for employees "🤔) and then refused us another booth because we were only two people. Mind you we've sat at every booth many times every time because of our back issues. Even though I have a cane, she often makes us wait when the place is clearly dead. The only pleasant staff is Manny, Vanessa & the nice female Hispanic bus person. But Sylvia & the very gruff Chinese woman act like they are doing you a huge favor. I have overlooked their rudeness before, but this was it for us. Perhaps she doesn't like people line me with canes. We will go to Kyoto instead or Hai Sushi we do not need to be treated rudely.“

“TUESDAY FOOD REVIEW...HAI SUSHI (again)...3/5/24! Today we went back to Hai Sushi, located at 1101 E Los Angeles Ave., in Simi Valley, for lunch. We have eaten there many times over the years, as their food is always DELICIOUS!!! I had their Miso Soup, Spring Greens Salad, 911 Roll, Lobster Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Fresh Water Eel, Spicy Scallop Hand Roll, Garlic Edamame, Yellowtail Sushi, and Salmon Sushi. And it was as it always is, fresh and delicious!!!! Definitely Simi Valley's best sushi restaurant!!!“
