“The only complaint is the rice used in the donburi; it's hard. It's definitely the geographic location. The water in Tracy is hard, and it affects the cooked rice. Bay Area rice to water ratio is around 1:1. Here in Tracy, the ratio needs to be closer to 1:2, in my experience. However, the sushi rice was perfect. It's worth another visit.“

“Had a birthday celebration for our 30 year old Son. Our experience was excellent… the food and service. It’s a family owned business where the cook has 23 years experience which resulted in him buying the place. Only a few months into the ownership, he is doing well with consistent food and repeat customers. No worries that you are going to get a different cook every time. He is the only cook who knows what he’s doing. He even has a signature garlic butter. In fact, he makes everything. Not some chain restaurant that uses mass production food from who knows where. Anyway, give it a shot. It could become your fav.“

“Best Japanese food in Tracy! We've tried most places in Tracy, and Kengo appears to have the freshest and tastiest fish! I always judge by unagi nigiri and sake (salmon) sashimi, and it's on point. Haven't dined in, but it's a quick pickup (no delivery). Miso could be improved but no big deal (we make our own at home). Gyoza and ebi (prawn) tempura are also great, and reasonable prices too. If you want Japanese food and are in town, look no further!“

“Wonderful restaurant wonderful staff. it’s like going to grandma’s house. We stopped here after a long drive near our hotel. Ate food until we felt sick. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was perfect. I recommend the miso Ramen.“

“I always go have lunch there with family and their sushi is always good. They also have a bar and they serve great drinks. The staff lets you hang out and if you have a large party, they stay on top of making sure everyone has what they need. I chose 4 stars for service and atmosphere because they know people in my party and they knew what we needed already.

Parking: It is in a parking lot with a lot of other businesses and a grocery store so parking may be difficult.“
