“I called and ordered a roll to go-the Storm roll. It was delicious, and the finest quality and freshness! The owners were there, and the place looks extremely cute inside and also has outside seating. I had never been here before, but will be coming back soon. Very good sushi!“
“The sushi is really good, all ingredients taste high quality and fresh. The plate situation is odd though, as they are stored on top of the wooden separator between every table, so they are sometimes a bit dusty. Other than that the restaurant is amazing, with really nice staff.
Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian roll options, which my friend really appreciated“

“A pleasant and thoroughly enjoyable experience was had by our party of four. The food was expertly prepared and the presentation was first rate. We especially enjoyed the Tiradito of Albacore, the Spicy Hamachi and the Danville and Salmonholic rolls! The Mango Cheesecake with Green Tea ice cream was a great finish. Our waiter Nick was superb and helped ensure everything went smoothly. We'll definitely return for an encore!“

“The help is most certainly the best thing about sushi bar Hana! At the point when I moved to Danville they sent me a welcome coupon for a free purpose, so my sweetheart and I chose to come in! The sushi is new and workers were glad to make suggestions. This may not be the best moves I've had in my life, however most certainly useful for the space and not terrible at the costs by the same token! This is a little shop close to the clock tower downtown! Stopping is generally in the city.“

“I lost count of how many times I’ve come here - they never miss. The menu is familiar but enough unique items to stand out amongst all of the other AYCE sushi OR hotpot restaurants around.. oh and did I mention they offer both.. get this - for the same price ? come visit, you won’t regret it!“

“Great food, good price, and excellent service. Especially by the hostess Keyli, who made us feel welcome and offered up a great tasting, Salmon Carpaccio. We will be back for more and hope Keyli can be our server someday.

“Quite literally the best sushi I have ever had. I got the Firefighter Roll.
The fish didn’t taste fishy, there was not one bite where I thought it was less than amazing, and they have a variety of specialty rolls here. Service was quick, polite, and pleasant. I want to go back many more times!
The price is about the same as other sushi places in San Ramon, if not a little more expensive, but so much more worth it in value. The ambiance/environment is really welcoming too! Go here, you probably won’t regret it!!“

“Second time in two months. Love this place. Tonight having the teriyaki tofu with soup, salad, and rice. Cubes of silky tofu on a bed of lettuce and shredded cabbage with vegetables. The vegetable tempura appetizer plate was perfect and lasted only a few minutes. Partner had the cherry blossom. Yummy! Great service. VERY clean restaurant. Tucked away in the corner of strip mall near the Round Table Pizza. Dining area in back big enough for a team lunch or dinner“

“I was looking for sushi, I decided to go here and I was fascinated, excellent service and they have a variety and very fresh. I recommend that you make a reservation. The tables are tight, I think it would not be comfortable for large groups. Obviously I will return ??
* I'm putting up photos of the dishes I tried.
** I forgot to take a photo of the grilled octopus but it is delicious.“

“Went to Kiku Sushi in Lafayette for dinner and the staff were welcoming and efficient, even on a busy night. A main attraction for me is that there’s a full vegetarian menu, so you can find dishes beyond avocado roll and don’t have to worry about whether they contain fish stock or flakes. Memorable dish: Nasu Miso, which is grilled Japanese eggplant with sweet miso, $9.50. Kiku has a sister restaurant in Berkeley – I enjoyed eating at both of them – service, food, and ambiance were solid in both branches. For those looking for fully vegan Japanese restaurants in Berkeley, I can also recommend Cha-ya or Tane Vegan Izakaya, both of which are on Shattuck Ave. I’m also giving Kiku Sushi 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. • Both branches of Kiku have an emphasis on vegetarian items with a fully vegetarian menu that helps avoid any confusion or mistakes while ordering. • The menu does feature fish and a couple of chicken or pork dishes, but avoids the most climate-unfriendly meats – beef and lamb. • Fyi, if you want to choose climate-friendly fish, then small pelagic fish (sardines, mackerel, anchovies), farmed bivalves (oysters, mussels, scallops), and some wild salmonids (salmon and trout) are your best bets. Avoid crustaceans such as shrimp, prawns, crabs, and lobster. • Kiku doesn’t provide any information on sourcing of fish or other ingredients. Please join in and include a Green Stars rating with your own reviews!“

“I rarely write reviews, but this place was absolutely phenomenal. An easy 5/5 for the food quality, ambience, and service. the cashier was friendly and helpful. The sushi rolls not only contained the freshest fish, but also generous portions of all ingredients! Even their udon (which they’re not known for) was scrumptious. Can’t wait to come back!“

“Food was good, flavors were excellent. The Shrimp Head could use more cooking time to ensure crispiness rather than having some chewiness on the Ama-Ebi. Maguro & Tobiko Nigiri were fresh. The Sukiyaki was filling! My friend ate all her Bento box contents. Service was good, but not all shoju was available on the menu. There were so many missing items that they should revise it or consider a paper menu that's easier to update. Inside was great, but the outside parking had a homeless drunk on the sidewalk by the parking area ...“

“We're always greeted with a combination of welcome back and or nice to see you again. The service is as good as the food. The fish is as fresh as if it was caught only hours before. We've been working our way through those fantastic rolls. Shelby and The Titanic are amazing. Anyway, please patronize our local businesses. So many small businesses didn't make it through the Pandemic and its so sad to see the stores closed up. Go enjoy wonderful food and equally good service from some very talented people.“

“Loved this place, but removing a star because they took the teriyaki salmon option off the menu. Strange, because everyone loved it and it was often sold out! The raw fish is hit or miss. Bring back the teriyaki!
My roommates and I check doordash every week or so, just to see if they have Salmon Samba.“

“I love Angry Fish. I've been coming here since the day it opened. The food is always awesome! I love the oysters ($1.50) delicious! Must have apps Spicy Garlic Edamame & the Angry Crush appetizer. Also they have many amazing specialty rolls but by far my favorite is the Angry Mermaid. Oh my gosh it's like an explosion of flavors & it brings me JOY! LOL! The staff is super sweet especially the managers Vincent and Jackie they are identical twins, you will never tell them apart... I don't care how many years you been going there LOL. And Michael he's a sweetheart and always treats us like vip. But I think they treat everyone like VIP? it's a special place. The owner puts heart and soul into the food he's serving and I appreciate that. I will never stop going there.

“Tancho is an intimate and cozy dining experience in a discreet location with excellent food and service. Chef Jason did an amazing job for our party seated at the bar. There is an extensive drink and sake menu with great non-alcoholic options as well.
This is a reservation only restaurant which helps keep the seating number small. The atmosphere was great with very pretty interior design and the light jazz adds to the ambience.
Out of the entire omakase menu my favorite items were the kegami uni don (hairy crab mixed with uni over rice topped with ikura and shiso blooms), akami zuki (lean bluefin tuna), and anago (conger eel). The fish were all extremely fresh with no fishy smell or taste. Some items are specified if they have just arrived that day, and the aoyagi (surf clam) was still moving when it was brought out to the chef. The premium Hokkaido uni was also delicious.
A surprisingly delicious aspect of the meal was the rice, which was preseasoned for every course. It was constantly freshly made and hot which made each piece of nigiri perfect. As an FYI, at Tancho the nigiri is encouraged to be held with your hands rather than with chopsticks.
Overall Tancho is a hidden gem in Castro Valley and a great place to go for special occasions. They served our party very well for my mother's birthday and were kind enough to include a special dessert and card for her. We will be going back again soon!
Dietary restrictions: Before the meal begins you will be asked about dietary restrictions. The rice is pre seasoned with soy sauce (I think) for those with gluten allergy.
For those with kids or people who cannot eat raw fish, they will torch the fish ahead of time for you if you write it on the reservation, but it will not be fully cooked.“

“Delicious and definitely fulfilled our sushi craving. I highly recommend Pocket Sushi no chopsticks required easy to eat, full of flavor, and so pretty to look at. I stopped by after work to pick up a few different types of pockets, the service was great and the food was fresh and made quickly. I waited no more then ten minutes for them to make my six item order and they brought it out to my car which was also very nice. We will for sure be back for more!“

“I checked out this Marketplace in Castro Valley for the first time and I'm impressed with the cleanliness of it and the variety of foods/desserts they offer. For lunch, I ordered the Dragon and Lion King rolls, and i love it so much coz they put "real" crab meat and not imitation crab. Also, the service is great! I'll definitely be back!“

“This is my favorite sushi spot in Walnut Creek. The fish quality is good and I really like the rolls, specifically the golden bear, jalapeño jumper, and dynamite. The baked mussels are one of my favorite items here. The prices are fair and the food is offered for delivery on DoorDash which is very convenient for take out. Definitely give this place a try if you want some sushi in Walnut Creek.“

“The food is good here, and the staff is very good about not mixing seafood stations with the other meat and veggies stations which sets my family members with seafood allergies at ease.
The Teriyaki Chicken bowl was delicious, and my husband really enjoyed his chicken and beef bento box. I saw the Lion King bake but will have to try it when my husband isn't around. Simple, quick, easy, tasty Japanese style food.“

“I can't believe I have lived in Lafayette for over three years and just discovered this place. In summary one of the very best Japanese restaurants I have eaten in, as good as anything I have had in Japan.Went for lunch. Started the meal with hot saki and toro sushi; outstanding, even the ginger and wasabi served with the sushi was outstanding. My wife had the sushi sampler with salad, I had the grilled miso sea bass with miso soup and rice. Everything was beautifully cooked, presented and tasted fantastic. As an added bonus, the food was served on what looked like a Japanese version of Heath pottery, nice touch. The restaurant decor is bright and tasteful. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Total cost for this amazing lunch was only $70, plus tip. Like Arnold said; "I will be back"!You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Google have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places/services that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really dreadful shops, hotels and restaurants etc., but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them.“

“Stumbled across this place for an early dinner, as I was in the area. I ordered the veggie tempura, miso soup, the hamachi sashimi and the a-roll which I forgot the name...but it was spicy tuna on the inside with albacore on top with a dot of spicy aioli and a jalapeno. The tempura was cooked perfectly and was not oily. There was a good amount of different veggies, two of each...pumpkin, carrots, potatoes, yams, green beans and squash. The cuts of hamachi were very generous and of great quality. The roll had the perfect balance of spicy with "melt in your mouth" goodness! Everything was truly delicious! The venue is nothing fancy and the service is just okay, however, the food is legit.
I overheard one of the food servers chatting with a gentleman who was dining solo, and apparently he was there earlier that day for lunch, and had such a great experience that he returned for dinner!
So glad I found this place, and I'll definitely be back!“

“The service was quick&staff were attentive, and friendly. The food was good. My usual(cherry blossom) was well put together. Because I seen a recommendation in the reviews for the Godzilla roll(deep fried yellowtail roll with a little spice to it)&the salmon belly, I tried them both and they delivered. The prices are decent.
Altogether a great first time experience.
I would return, and I would recommend.

“Low key, family-run sushi spot out in the burbs. I usually get sashimi or one of the rolls. Now if you want to throw caution to the wind, get the roll called "I don't know". It's chef's choice, and it depends on the ingredients on hand that day. Sometimes it's great, sometimes less so. Regardless, the portion is always generous, and it's always a surprise.“
