“Giamela's is an old family owned chain with amazing pepper steak subs. I have been eating here since at least the early 80's, and unfortunately they've closed a few locations. Their subs are generously portioned and freshly prepared. Aside from their pepper steak, their meatball sub among others is classic. The atmosphere and decor is basic, but that isn't why you come here. Service is friendly.“

“I was on a time crunch last week while on a lunch break and I noticed this spot was nearby, and open. I ordered the So Cal bowl; it came with very juicy chicken with chipotle aioli sauce. It was extremely good and I’m definitely telling my coworkers about it. Also got a chocolate chip cookie for my little sweet tooth, and that was also fantastic, so chewy and not too sweet.

“It's a divey local joint with a laser focus on sub sandwiches. Limited menu, all of it good. The guys taking orders and making sandwiches are genuinely happy and enjoy their work. Very friendly and personable.
I had pastrami, she had a sausage sandwich. She declared the sandwich average (marinara average, sausage ok but average). My pastrami was good for what it was but personally disappointing. They heat it in simmering broth, that washes out the salt and flavor and makes it rubbery. Best handling of pastrami IMO is to heat it on the flat top. That renders and softens some of the fat, concentrates the flavor and makes it a little crispy. Then put the cheese on top of that to melt before it goes on the bread, that's a good sandwich. Anyway...
The pepper steak is what a lot of people get, looking forward to trying it next time.“

“First time here yesterday and happy to keep coming back, had the hot pastrami sub and it was seriously good loved the mayo mustard combo with chopped tomato onion and pickles combined and layered generously over the whole sub Also had the Tonys special sub .. lots of fresh and tasty deli meats mortadella hams salamis and again the in-house mustard mayo combo .. awesome sandwich For a side I had the bow tie pasta which was cooked al dente with plenty of the marinated artichoke hearts and a great authentic Italian feel and flavour As this had now developed into leftovers for dinner given the size of it all I took us home a tiramisu for dessert later, and as with everything else well worth the eating Opened in 1979 and still going strong .. it’s easy to see why“

I’ve also heard him coaching and training others and I can tell he’s an amazing leader. I come by this location at least once a month and always have a great experience.

Parking: There’s street parking all around the intersection, just depends how much you need to walk. Service is usually quick enough that I can put in a quarter for 15 minutes at the meter and I leave well before it runs out.“

“I ordered the 20 oz bottle of wild cherry Pepsi and a lays classic chips. I got the Jersey shores favorite with white bread and Mike’s way for free since I used a special coupon. It was worth it. The wait wasn’t that bad. I loved how all the flavors blended together to make a perfect sandwich. Ham and cappacuolo went well together and the provolone. I was full by the end of my meal.“

The staff is very nice and friendly and straight to the point, and the way they make the sandwich’s fast and swiftly with almost no mess is very pleasing to see. They also have lower prices than other subways I go too definitely recommend coming here.

To the people that put in bad reviews the restroom is closed because of the bad people like you and not because they chose to close it. Also the place here is the cleanest subway I have ever seen and just because there’s a homeless issue everywhere does not make it right for you to put the reviews lower. “Order 2 subs to go. Staff was friendly and attentive. At the time of visit, the restaurant was clean. It is possible that the restaurant may not allow restrooms to be used. I think it has to do with homeless problems that happens time to time. Would be nice if customers are allowed to use who are buying food. If you happen to be during in the restaurant during the weekday between 9am to 4 pm, you could use the SoCal AAA restroom next door. Parking entrance could be a little bit tricky from Alameda. It is easier to miss and end up at the SoCal AAA parking lot instead.“

“They have a really great sandwich from the hot counter (TTLA) which I get every time I visit LA. They also have a decent vegan pizza there too. You can get it by the slice or as a whole. Beware of the salad bar.. I stupidly misread the signs thinking it was $11.95 per box, but it’s per LB! I ended up with a $35 salad 😂😂 the supermarket section has a really great selection of vegan products too, this is my supermarket of choice when I’m in town! She spread garlic butter on both top and bottom breads then added lots of cheese to both sides put two trays of steak on it and put it in the oven extremely Yummy smelling right?! Then when she took it out and asked politely what I wanted on it I had her put lots of green bell peppers, red onion, pepper cheenies , and sliced tomatoes oh and a line of lite mayo and one of honey mustard Oh My Goodness!!!!! Best sandwich I’ve ever had, for real For Real !!! I ate one half with vinegar and sea salt chips and theses new fountain drinks that taste like tropical juices all kinds of flavors to choose from I would suggest you eat there so you can get free refills on your drink because all the flavors are so good I actually mixed them !! Healthy and great tasting juices watered down to where there not too sugary. I had had her to wrap the other half of my sandwich for my grandson but unfortunately it never made it to him because that sandwich was so very great ????????????!
