“Great Food, Disappointing Service — A Missed Opportunity

Saltie Girl has a well-earned reputation for exceptional food, and in that regard, it delivered. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was flavorful and beautifully presented — the oysters, in particular, were a standout.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the service.

After ordering a bottle of wine, it took over 20 minutes for our server to return, only to inform us that the manager would be retrieving the wine. Another 10 minutes passed before she reappeared — not with the wine we ordered, but with a different, more expensive bottle. Rather than apologizing for the mix-up or offering it at the original price as a courtesy, the switch was presented matter-of-factly. A gesture of goodwill here would have gone a long way.

To make matters worse, our oyster order was mishandled — not once, but twice — with incorrect counts and missing varieties. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, these details matter. Guests expect not only excellent food, but also attentive, polished service to match.

In the end, the meal was delicious, but the experience left a bitter aftertaste. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in training their staff. As much as I enjoyed the food, I won’t be returning until the service rises to the level of the kitchen. Dining here should feel seamless — not like a constant series of corrections.“

“Went there for a little date on Halloween and didn’t disappoint. I had the mushrooms and my partner the duck, both were very delicious.
I think some more classy better quality cutlery and candle holders would help the place reflect the fancy vibe they want.

“I think this place is underrated. I stopped by here for dinner with friends and the atmosphere was chill enough, but loud enough to enjoy. The food (wings and burger) was really, really good, music was pumping and the place just felt comfy. This place gives off great vibes, so I definitely recommend checking it out.

“This is a very cute restaurant and the food is fantastic. The servers were all very friendly. I highly recommend the chilaquiles, it is not a very large portion as I typically would expect of a dish like chilaquiles, so if you’re sharing, order at least one per every two people. It has a very pleasant citrus taste to it and the chips are great. The egg pizza (add bacon) is fantastic. The combination of flavors between the runny egg yolk, caramelized onions, bacon, and cheese all blend magnificently together. I also had the Noa’s cauliflower, which was good but not as amazing as the previous dishes, however that didn’t stop me from eating all of it. The chefs French toast is a bit eggy, but makes a nice sweet finish to brunch. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be eating here again.“

We took two friends for a belated birthday dinner (and as the staff realized it was just that, they even rewarded us with a delicious birthday dessert :-). Great service, nice ambiance, and delicious food - we had the bread (could have been a bit more for the $4,50), then shared the Mac & Cheese topped up with the pear and brie pizza that was the best.“

The host and waiter were super friendly and helpful, not to mention patient with all our questions and our slowness to make decisions. The atmosphere and decor was cozy and both down-to-earth and elegant at the same time. Most of all, the food was fantastic! We loved everything we got. “I came here on Tuesday night after work for happy hour with my co-workers. I can't speak for the weekends, but it wasn't busy or crowded on Tuesday night. This was my second visit, and our server, Sang (I believe), definitely made our "Happy" enjoyable hour with great food and excellent service. I also got to watch the Dodgers game. The Asado and green onion chicken were really good. I usually avoid boneless chicken because it’s often too salty and lacks flavor, but their chicken was delicious—probably the best I’ve had in Ktown. Super crispy! Just a heads up, though—watch out for mosquitos!

“Wow! One of the best hidden gems in DTLA. The food was phenomenal! The baguette alone was worth the trip. And the pasta rescued me from a deep post-election funk. And it wasn't terribly expensive either. I felt like I was on the set of Sex and the City, circa 1999, with Portishead bumping in the background. I wanted a Cosmo and a cigarette. Badly. “I've been a few times. I don't think I've encountered a dish I didn't like. The yakitori selection is solid. My favorites are chicken skin and hearts. If you see gizzard skins on the socials menu, definitely add an order. Also, the Mac'n' cheese is delicious. Udon, tempura and sushi are solid as well.

“I came on Sunday night. Waited like 90 mins to get a bar seat because I came by myself. The waiter won’t seat me at the table claiming that tables are for 2 or more only. It gets me mad cuz I have to wait longer than those who came way later than me. Food is ok, 4.5/5. Service is actually not good maybe I came by myself. The server just checked once and disappeared. I had to call the other waiters for help. The old Korean lady at the grill deck is friendly and let the waiters be aware that I need help since my waiter is gone for some reason. And also, it took me like 10 mins to get a waiter to take my order. Don’t order the spicy chicken cuz it will burn ur throat. “Astonishing lodging to remain! They have an amazing pool, clean water, incredible food, and a cool lager. Agreeable staff and they have a decent spa. I will visit and remain longer since I like the view before the room, which straightforwardly prompts the pool. The rooms are an incredible size, and a portion of the perspectives are stunning.
