“This a great place for pupusas.I had both a loroco and a revuelta pupusa. The loroco was very cheesy and had a very nice light veggie taste from the blossoms. The revuelta was full of flavor and not overly salty. The cortiodo had a nice bite to it and a pleasant balance between the herbs and vinegar.I also had a tamale de elote, it tasted very fresh. It came with crema and beans, and was a nice finish to my lunch.I think they make their own tamarindo Agua fresca - it had a nice tartness without being overly sweet.“
“Best pupusas. Nachos are a must! Sopa de res #1. Pescado frito great option“

“I had a craving for pupusas and found this place through Google Maps-and I’m so glad I did! I ordered the pupusas rancheras, which came with two huge chicharrón pupusas-honestly, the biggest I’ve ever had. They were served with a side of refried black beans, Central American-style sour cream, two sweet banana slices, and a rich red sauce that tied everything together perfectly.
Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming. I’m definitely planning to come back and will be recommending this place to my friends and family. Highly recommend!“

“If you are craving authentic, comforting, and deeply flavorful Salvadoran cuisine, Puerto de Acajutla Restaurant is an absolute must-visit gem! I had a wonderful dining experience here. The standout feature is definitely their pupusas—they are made fresh to order, served piping hot, and have the perfect balance of a crispy exterior and a savory, rich filling. The curtido and salsa on the side are fresh and complement the meal beautifully. They also offer fantastic seafood dishes and traditional plates that showcase the true culinary heritage of El Salvador. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and incredibly welcoming, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. The service is friendly, attentive, and efficient. A top-tier spot for a satisfying, high-quality meal. I highly recommend checking it out“
“First timer, and I am definitely picky when it comes to Salvadorian food and authenticity, this is very delicious and homey feel. .I had pupusas (revueltas, queso con loroco, chicharon) all very good not greasy at all. Sauces and curtido very good!!!!. Very clean restaurant and very friendly staff. Thank you“

“Homey restaurant that serves up fresh homemade El Salvadoran food. Everything was fresh and good. The fried plantains with black beans and eggs with fresh tortillas I feel we're meant for pupusas which works for me. CASH ONLY. Street parking only with locals as most customers like myself. Hole in the wall special!! And know the homeless try to come in and beg for money which is interesting because the paying customers just ignore. Provecho.“

“I have been eating at this restaurant for more than one year. Their food has a great taste, and the service is excellent and friendly. All the plates look like they were cooked with love and care, compared to other Salvadoran restaurants I have visited in these areas, where they serve food to make money regardless of whether the dish is well cooked or not. Excellent restaurant!“

“The fact that everyone who rates the place less than a 5 star because of service and not food tells you everything you need to know. THE FOOD IS GOOD! Ive never had a problem with their service. They've always been polite and no nonsense. Ive eaten there ( small place) and also ordered it for take out. So , I recommend this place for their excellent, authentic food.“

“Best place to get pupusas salvadorian, best ones I recommend for intense flavor would be revueltos. The salsa that comes with it is a tomato salsa, bit watery-BUT not spicy at all AND delicious(especially the chicken/cheese pupusas!). Flavorful cooked plantains, sides, and chorizo sausage amazing! The staff are nice too! Definitely recommend!“

“This is 100% authentic Salvadoran food. Too many places around LA have a Salvi/Mex food mix and it changes the taste. We had Yuca grits con vhicharron which was absolutely the best I’ve had in a long time. The sopa de res was delicious and ofcourse had the pupusas which were great!!! My friend had Salpicon which is the first restaurant I’ve ever seen on the menu. Only had this homemade and was very legit. Staff was so nice and helpful!“
“litterly everything is great here . so glad to have some great tacos in town .they are great people too . over just great experience you will love it .“

“The food is good and decently priced.I like the fact that you can get Salvadorian dishes or Mexican.Since it's located in a lower-income area, the atmosphere is not even mid-tier.Don't let that discourage you.I enjoyed the chilaquiles with a side popusa.“

“Don’t let the city scare you, this is a very nice and clean restaurant.
The food is very good, they serve both Salvadoran and Mexican food. I have only tasted the Salvadoran food, pupusas, sopa de pata, traditional breakfast etc. the dining area is spacious and will accommodate a large family. If you want authentic tasting pupusas or Salvadoran food this would be the place to eat.
There is plenty of onsite parking for both the restaurant and the other business.“

“We just had a pork and cheese pupusa, a revuelta (pork, beans, cheese) pupusa and a side order of refried beans. What a delicious meal!! I’ve been to El Salvador twice and I have had pupusa‘s in a lot of places in the United States. The pupusas at Paquitas are authentic and just so delicious. For sure, that is my comfort food! The refried beans it’s exactly what I have had El Salvador. I asked the lady at the counter what kind of beans they use and she said they buy beans from El Salvador in Los Angeles. I can totally taste the difference. They were so great I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“It's a very mom and pop shop, but they are worth a visit!
I've only had the pupusa so far, but I am excited to try their other dishes as everything smells extraordinary.
The pupusa were cooked perfectly, with that little bit of crispy edges! So good!
Their curtido was really fresh too! I normally like a pickle curtido but theirs was really fresh and nice!
The salsa roja was really nice too.
Everything made sense together and was quite delicious!
I can't wait to try more and thank you so much!“

“Pupuseria Salvadorena is an absolute original taste of salvadorian popusa & for anyone craving authentic Salvadorian cuisine. Nestled in a vibrant location willow long beach , this place delivers the genuine flavors of El Salvador. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a clean, bustling atmosphere and fast, attentive service. The food is superb—whether you’re savoring the rich, hearty caldos (like the caldo de res or caldo de cerdo), or indulging in crispy empanadas, every bite is a taste of tradition. Don’t miss the horchata or the traditional Salvadoran juices—they’re a perfect pairing. The décor is equally impressive, with beautiful murals that depict Salvadoran landscapes and the rich culinary heritage of Salvadoran women. Parking can be tight in the back, but the experience inside is absolutely worth it. This is a must-visit spot for anyone seeking an authentic taste of El Salvador.“

“All good but I went for some chicharron with cheese and what I disliked is that... 1-they have a lot of fat 2- they leave the pupusas on the grill for a long time which makes them toast, and number 3- I think they put a lot of salt or a lot of seasoning to the pork rinds since I tried them and I did like them but it did feel like they had a lot of salt and then since it has cheese, the cheese has salt I mean you should look at that in the pork rinds with cheese ??“

“I have had pupusas all over the Los Angeles area. These are worth driving to Long Beach for. They are absolutely fantastic and the best I’ve had in the last eight years of traveling to LA. The fillings are very generous, and the slaw is excellent. The frijoles are so silky, smooth, and perfectly seasoned, I’m pretty sure angels eat them. Next time I come to LA I’m driving to Long Beach to come here.“

“Love this place!! I’ve been coming here for the past 5?years, and they never disappoint. Pupusas are made with the perfect ratio of masa and what ever meat or cheese u want. My favorite is the Salpicon! It’s a shredded beef plate, which includes rice, beans, sour cream, and three of the typical tortillas, like the ones my grandma used to make!! Oh… and don’t forget the plátanos fritos for desert.“
