“Sat at the bar for dinner. Abbie makes THE BEST Old Fashioned’s. Had the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, wedge salad and Delmonico steak for dinner. All the food was top notch, especially the steak. The flavor was amazing, highly recommend. Too full for dessert!“

“My wife and I recently visited the Centennial Buffet at Centennial Buffet inside Ameristar Black Hawk after earning comped buffets through a really good casino promotion. We were excited to use them for their Valentine’s Day dinner, and overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

We arrived right when they opened, which worked out perfectly because everything was fresh and well stocked. The hostess was very friendly and patient with customers as everyone was getting seated, and our server was kind, attentive, and quick to clear plates and refill drinks throughout the evening.

The variety of food was impressive, with multiple stations offering something for just about everyone. I especially enjoyed the prime rib and the crab legs, both were fresh and flavorful. The salad bar stood out as well; everything tasted crisp and fresh, and there were plenty of topping options to build exactly what you wanted.

Not every single dish was a home run — a few items felt a bit hit or miss — but there’s more than enough variety to leave satisfied. The dessert selection was decent. I really liked the hot cookies and gelato, though some of the cakes and pies were a little on the bland side.

If I had to pay the full $53 per person, I might think twice, but as a comped experience tied to a promotion, it felt like a great value. Overall, it’s a solid buffet with good service, plenty of options, and a pleasant atmosphere.“
