The omakase experience was great. Each bite was heaven in your mouth. They get the freshest ans best fish imported and each bit is so unique. We got the 12 course omakase and I think next time I’m going to go for the 20 course menu. Highly recommend! Boulder really needed a legit sushi place.

Chef is amazing and the fish was from all over - such an amazing palette experience!
I only lasted 3 photos before I gave up and gave into just enjoying the food. I've been to all of the famous sushi places in Colorado, kizaki, ukiyo, sushi/tenmaki den, etc. All of them pale in comparison to what chef can cook up. Ofc the quality of the fish is good, that's a given. But what stands out are the flavor profiles that are brought to life.

One warning is that it is hard to find, as it is on the second floor above another restaurant.
The quality of the fish is good, but what stands out are the flavor profiles. The chef leans into bright citrusy flavors that bring out the flavors and textures of the fish. He also does French Japanese fusion food like his escargot garlic bread, or the foie gras and blue cheese combo. A favorite was the spicy xo sauce paired with a cracked out tangerine + mackerel. The combinations are fun, playful, and bright. There was never a dull bite at Temaki Joint. The restaurant operates at a much higher level than any other Japanese restaurant in Boulder. The focus is on exemplary service and some of the most creative dishes. The food is on a par with some high end sushi restaurants in London and New York. This is genuinely the best sushi in Colorado.
