“My wife and I go to the Vail Valley pretty often and this is our favorite restaurant. During happy hour, which I think is from 2 to 5, they have a discount on many of the cheeses and a couple of really nice happy hour drink specials on the wines. Occasionally, they also have oysters on the half shelf that are very fresh.
There’s 25 or 30 different cheeses that you can get. They come in a small portion and they can be served with all sorts of little nuts and dried fruits and honey and figs.
There’s also some sandwiches, soups, and other options if you want to eat something other than cheese. It’s a really fun place. During peak times, you might have to wait.“

“Grouse Mountain Grill turned a potential disappointment into an unforgettable experience that has earned them a lifelong customer.
In August, I made a reservation for a special occasion in late November. Less than 24 hours before our scheduled dining time—and after I had already confirmed the reservation—the restaurant reached out via OpenTable to let me know they couldn’t serve us that evening. However, they immediately offered to move our reservation to the next day and covered the entire meal, including cocktails and desserts, as an apology. This gesture alone speaks volumes about their commitment to exceptional service.
When we finally dined there, everything was outstanding. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and seamless—and the food was a delight.
We started with their famous hand-rolled tater tots, which were out of this world. I’m still dreaming about them and wish I could recreate them for Thanksgiving. Next, we split a Caesar salad, which was well-prepared with fresh cracked pepper. While the grated Parmesan was good, I personally prefer flaked Parmesan for a more upscale feel.
For entrees, I had the off-menu filet. It was cooked closer to medium-rare than the medium I ordered—not a big deal, so I didn’t mention it to the server. While it was a flavorful cut, it had more fat than I like for a boneless filet. I expect a filet to be lean, so the excess fat was a minor letdown. On the other hand, my spouse’s salmon was perfect. This dish seemed to be the standout of the evening, as many tables ordered it. Everyone, including my spouse, raved about the flawless preparation and seasoning.
For dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate cake and carrot cake. Both were delicious, but be aware that the portions are on the smaller side and not shareable, which is a bit unusual for upscale restaurants.
Full transparency: our meal was on the house due to the reservation mix-up, but this did not affect my review. Grouse Mountain Grill is an excellent choice in the area, and I highly recommend taking the Village Connect to visit. You’ll enjoy great food, attentive service, and an experience truly worth the cost.“

“I came to the Fireside Grill as part of package deal through the Nordic Center to go snowshoeing for several hours before capping the day off with a generous plate of wine and cheese AND dessert! The food was delicious and Lizzie took phenomenal care of me as I enjoyed my meal. Her kindness and attentiveness was much appreciated. I highly recommend this experience through the Nordic Center as well as the Fireside Grill for its excellent food and lovely staff.“

“We enjoyed our meal. The burgers and fries were delicious whether they were real beef or impossible. The fish tacos were also great. The ice cream and home made cookies topped off a good meal.
Vegetarian options: Imposible burger, salads
Parking: During the summer parking is free and plentiful.“

“The food was really good but the service was really bad. They somehow missed my dinner order even though I was the first in our party to order and then said they miss read it and put cold food on a very hot plate. They’re just lucky it tasted good, just not hot. Don’t expect the waitstaff to know what is on happy hour because what we ordered ended up not being and had to pay full price.“

“This was my go-to place after a hard day's work. I would get their amazing pizzas, and cold beer. The wait staff, and bartenders, were really friendly and helpful, especially since I was new to the area. My time in that area was cut short but I would definitely try to stop in if I ever came back.
Vegetarian options: It's attached to a deli which confused me.“
