“The edamame was great! Two ordered entrees “medium” heat after being warned the “hot” was really hot. Both were disappointed as neither had heat. Two of us had the sampler and it was good, but not great. The prices are high. I don't care to go back.”

“Average for Telluride area. The veggies in the chicken teriyaki bowl seemed bland. The shredded pork with black beans and rice was nice.

There's not much meat in the two bowls, but it's flavorful.

The ice cream was very good.

The counter help personnel were adequate for a slow Sunday.

The payment transaction devices always seemed to want to add a tip for the counter help. So, if I place othe order myself, pick up the food and drink myself, and clean up after myself the table where I dined, I am supposed to tip the counter help and food prep guys?”

“The service was excellent, but the food…hot and cold (NO pun intended). My black bean soup was excellent, and so was the salmon. In fact, the salmon was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Crispy Shrimp & Calamari, shared at the table, wasn’t really crispy at all. It had a tiny bit of sauce drizzled over it, but most pieces didn’t get touched by it, so you had to either ask for a side of dipping sauce (which we didn’t) or eat it plain. Also, there were hardly any shrimp in with the calamari. My Caesar Salad was awful. Before ordering, I confirmed that the dressing was made in house, but it was a tasteless, bland, cream colored, nondescript thin liquid, without a hint of garlic. I didn’t complain, but I tried my only other option of adding plenty of salt and pepper, which just didn’t help. We didn’t order dessert, so I can’t comment on that element. Overall, I think Cosmo’s is a very fine restaurant, but maybe we just didn’t choose well. I would certainly go back, but I would never order the Caesar again, and I would carefully discuss the calamari with the server before committing to it.”

“Good service and good environment, but unfortunately the omakase quality was not worth $200+. I have had better omakase in other high cost of living geographies for half the price. While some pieces, such as their amberjack were quite well designed, overall I felt that this sushi restaurant did not maximize the potential of much of its high quality raw ingredients. 1) many of their nigiris was very heavy on sweet sauces, an odd choice that detracts. 2) the unagi's flavor in particular completely overshadowed the the caviar and the uni

Probably a fine restaurant for sushi or ala carte ordering, but I would caveat empor splurging on omakase here vs say somewhere with a higher density of competition for high end sushi restaurants.

Also they added a 4% surcharge when we got the receipt that was not mentioned when we started the meal. This is a type of hidden "junk fee" that removes trust between customers and business owners. While still legal for now, the much more consumer friendly strategy is to raise menu prices.”
