“While vacationing in Ouray, we decided to give Yankee Girl Cafe a try for breakfast. Needless to say we were delighted with the menu selections. Service was prompt and the staff were friendly. Later that same day while searching for a place to dine we were surprised to see that Yankee Girl Cafe was open for dinner as they are only open til noon. What caught our attention was that they were having a special meal of Navajo Tacos for that evening only. Of course we had to stop in again and give those tacos a try. Served with fresh chips and salsa and hefty portions. We left truly satisfied. Our new favorite spot when in Ouray.“

“I went this morning and asked at the counter - the apple turnovers and cherry turnovers are both vegan. Really impressed to have those options in a small mountain town that is not very vegan friendly. Apple turnover was flaky and delicious! Will be back in the morning for more.“

“I wouldn't recommend their fried chicken. I do like my fried chicken on the extra side of crispy, but the breading was so crispy in some (many) places that it could chip a tooth if you aren't careful.

The salad was good. The French fries were excellent and crispy. The price was very reasonable.

The male owner didn't seem to care about my suggestion on their fried chicken. I'm not sure if there was too much baking powder in the breading or why it was just too hard to crumble up when chewing. It could seriously break or chip a tooth.

Under the breading was some good chicken.

The female owner seemed to care more but mainly said that the size of the chicken pieces weren't to her liking, and that is what the vendor sends them. The wing was a little small but I knew this when I ordered it. I was still full and got enough food to eat when I left.“

“We stopped in during their Saturday lunch rush and we're lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar. We order bloody Mary's (with DELICIOUS housemade pickles) the cheese steak, the cubano special and the turkey sandwich. Everything was fabulous, and Joanna the bartender was a delight. Definitely a gem of a spot“
