“We absolutely love this place! We have been twice. The second time was this week with my sister (visiting from England). They were very busy but got us seated fairly quickly. The manager asked if we were from England. We then realized that once we were seated, they were playing British hits over the speakers. It was such an awesome touch for us! The food was incredible. The cheese dip with the pretzel sticks is amazing. My sister thoroughly enjoyed the short rib grilled cheese, and the fish (fish and chips) was as close to home as we've gotten over here. I had the portobello wrap, which was delicious. They make a very yummy kids pudding as well, which our daughter loved. We will be back in the near future. I'm so glad this place is a part of our town ❤️“

“I was given a Groupon as a gift to go here and was pleasantly pleased! Our waitress was so attentive and everything form the Bread (with soft butter! I hate when it is still hard it was perfect!) the salad was very fresh and we both chose the Chicken Cacciatore which was so good! The place is cute and very clean! “What Luke's does well, it does really well - the shrimp cavatelli is fabulous. Other dishes (especially the mains - we ordered about half the menu) were less memorable. It's dark and looks busy but the acoustics are good enough that conversation is easy. And it should be - you're next to the Schubert and a stone's throw from Old Campus and the Green.“

This is what bar food is SUPPOSED TO BE We had the wings, tots and a burger every bit was fantastic. Insane selection of craft beer and the cocktails were amazing. “I drive a considerable distance just to come visit Bobbi the bartender. She’s the best around! Funny, fast, excellent. It’s also hard to find such a welcoming fun crowd and cheap drinks anywhere else. The new owners are regularly around and you won’t have to look hard because they’ll greet you with a smile. Great guys. Can’t say enough great things about this great place. Only thing that would make it better is if they had a karaoke night!!!!“

“I try to pop into Bailey’s at least once a week and lately I’ve been gravitating towards their Saturday prix fixe menu. Ed is a terrific chef and he has been creating some new,special dinners. I’d like to start by saying that the portions are huge, I’m not sure how they make any money on them. First course was sausage and potatoes with long hot peppers. Absolutely delicious and definitely a shareable plate. Second was a cup of homemade chicken tortellini soup. Main course was crab stuffed filet of sole with a lobster sauce, homemade mashed potatoes and green beans almondine. The dinner is finished with a generous slice of red velvet cake, which I declined because I was stuffed. Half of the appetizer came home with me, but I did finish the rest of it. if I wasn’t starving when I walked in, I probably could’ve easily gotten two complete meals out of this. They normally have three or four appetizers, three or four soup offerings and four main courses, so there’s absolutely something for everyone. How much would you expect to spend on a dinner of this caliber? How about 25 bucks? The atmosphere is comfortable, the patrons are genuine Waterbury folks, the staff is friendly and engaging. Alderman Jeff Hunter lays down some great R&B tracks as a happy hour DJ on Fridays and Sundays. I’ll complete this by saying that I am past retirement age and feel extremely comfortable with everybody here. The kitchen is open until 10 PM.“

“I ordered a filled bagel and a cupcake. The service was very friendly and warm, and quick though there was quite a queue. The bagel was excellent, great taste, with a small side salad. The cupcake was really moist and beautiful, the buttercream very creamy, and tasty all-in-all, though very sugary! I would recommend this place for the excellent bagels and kind service, and the cupcakes for the ones with a sweet tooth. Maybe an idea for the future to have some sweet products that don't pack quite as much sugar, but I'm definitely coming back for another bagel!“

“Came on a monday night for trivia, and we’ve never been before. Safe to say it was a fun place to be and exceeded our expectations. Limited food menu, so we ate before, but we did consume the fresh (free) popcorn they had. Pitcher of a lite beer was $15. The Bar, looks like a scene out of Hogwarts, dark, funky candles, old wooden tables with names carved in them, and definitely historic. Its a good thing we arrived a bit earlier for 6pm Monday night trivia as it was crowded, lots of Yalies there too.“

“We hadn't been here since in changed names/owners a few years ago. Four diners ordering 4 completely different meals - it was hard to choose which one we liked best. Starting with the street corn dip and poached pear; both were a hit, but the party was divided on whether or not they would have liked the pear served warm (it was served cold) and filled with honey mascarpone and lots of pistachios. We moved onto the main courses of chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes; steak with truffle fries; orecchiette with broccoli and sausage; hamburger with fries. Everything was cooked to perfection (steak medium rare, chicken crispy and not at all dry, burger medium with just a hint of pink in the center.) The drinks were creative (did not skimp on the alcohol!) and plentiful, refilled quickly by our attentive server. Desserts as always tend to make or break a meal; these desserts did not disappoint. Banana tres leches cake, Amaretto crème brulee and the special cookie and ice cream combination along with coffee and digestif. A special treat for the evening - Live entertainment in the bar area. Not too loud, we could still have dining room conversation over the music, but found ourselves singing along to most of the tunes. There is definitely something here for everyone!“
