“Outstanding Cuisine.“

“First, to call SOB a hidden gem would be doing it a disservice, per all the five-star reviews! The better term is off the beaten path, but undoubtedly worth a purposeful trip. I am admittedly a bit of a sandwich snob, and Michelle's porchetta special did NOT disappoint. As a matter of fact, she was so genuinely charming and sincere in her description of it, that all three of us ordered the exact same thing, and the full-size grinder at that. This was a BIG sandwich, even by my standards, and the components were all top-notch. Somehow, the meat was still juicy and tender, even sliced thin and griddled on the flat top. The provolone was melted nicely, and the marinated peppers had just enough bite to balance the richness. She gave us a cup of au jus for dipping as well, which was greatly appreciated. Taste and value aside, Michelle may just be the start of the show. Her hospitable kindness and welcoming spirit made the food even better, to the effect that we were already planning our next visit before we even left. SOB is the real deal, thanks again Michelle, BPT is lucky to have you!“

“Rene the owner is extremely flexible. We needed to do a lunch for a small gathering and Rene agreed to open the restaurant for a small fee. It was a lovely Indian summer day in early October and we sat in the Pergola space which was lovely. All the food starting with the appetizers and ending with dessert was flavorful and excellent. The service was awesome with very attentive and courteous wait staff. The cocktails were very good too. Would highly recommend Ola Latin Kitchen if you are in the Bridgeport CT area. “Met a dear friend from New York at Bloodroot for lunch. From the street the outside looked small, plain and not very interesting. As we walked through the gate to the “side door” we were greeted by the water view and a lovely outdoor seating area - for another day, too chilly today! We stepped in the door and were immediately welcomed by Noel. From that point on, we were cared for and fed by Noel and her amazing cooks and kitchen staff - thank you Carol, Lailla and Yordanos. The food was excellent, the decor of vintage tables & chairs, hanging rugs off the rafters (one designed and hand woven by Noel) and lovely photographs on the walls, was both elegant and homey. We wandered the book store and bought their cookbook. What a wonderful experience to share with a dear friend. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant experience to all those who love vegan offerings and enjoy an intimate caring environment. Excited to return soon.“

“On the way back to NYC from Foxwoods and decided to stop by Bridgeport for some Vietnamese food. The original Vietnamese restaurant we googled by Bridgeport led us to a location that was closed so we decided to stop by this place since we saw it also served pho among other things. We were very pleased with selecting this place after our initial viet restaurant wasn’t open. The food here is really good!! Kinda hope they can open one in NYC if they haven’t already! If not maybe I’ll make the trip up here again in the near future just for the food.“
