“Met a dear friend from New York at Bloodroot for lunch. From the street the outside looked small, plain and not very interesting. As we walked through the gate to the “side door” we were greeted by the water view and a lovely outdoor seating area - for another day, too chilly today! We stepped in the door and were immediately welcomed by Noel. From that point on, we were cared for and fed by Noel and her amazing cooks and kitchen staff - thank you Carol, Lailla and Yordanos. The food was excellent, the decor of vintage tables & chairs, hanging rugs off the rafters (one designed and hand woven by Noel) and lovely photographs on the walls, was both elegant and homey. We wandered the book store and bought their cookbook. What a wonderful experience to share with a dear friend. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant experience to all those who love vegan offerings and enjoy an intimate caring environment. Excited to return soon.“

“Last night we were there for an early Birthday dinner for me! It's been a long time since we've dined at Ralph 'n' Rich's, but I will say that our food was delicious, & the service was superb! Brittany was our server, & she was awesome! I can't recall our busboy's name but he was great with bringing bread to our table, & refilling our water glasses as needed. I had the baby arugula salad special to start, & it was so tasty & the perfect beginning before having an old favorite of mine, linguine with white clam sauce. My hubby really enjoyed the Spiedina Romano which is a kicked up mozzarella appetizer that if he fully polished it off, he wouldn't have ate his Chicken Piccata then tangerine sorbet afterwards! Don't worry, we brought home leftovers to enjoy! Topping off things was a surprise singing of "Happy Birthday" when my tartufo came out! Reservations are strongly recommended especially for dinner, but Ralph 'n' Rich's is a gem that's had staying power in Downtown Bridgeport for many years. Go there & enjoy!“

“Great little restaurant, lively and colorful atmosphere. The only change I would make would be to make the pinchos appetizer a main meal with a bigger portion of pinchos and maybe some rice. They were so delicious. Also, the churros did not taste freshly made to order, they were cold and hard. Would not get those again. My plantain crusted cod was cooked perfectly and the coconut lobster sauce was delicious with it. Great menu.“

Everyone I know that craves that Jamaican vibe along with the flavors that go with it always highly recommend ROOTSMAN. Long time residents of Bpt, who have relocated to towns up north, still take the drive to feast on Leroy's Pepper Steak, Oxtail, Jerk chicken, Curry Goat, Curry Chicken etc.
I personally feel that ROOTSMAN is the epitome of how meats should be prepared. Melt-in-your-mouth like hot butter on pancakes. Succulent, juicy, tender and so flavorful you'll wish your portion never ends! I hope my visits to ROOTSMAN never end either!“

“I visited Captain’s Cove Seaport recently and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be this beautiful and relaxing. It’s not just a marina—it’s a full experience. The place has a warm, small-town coastal vibe with an amazing view of the boats docked along the harbor, people enjoying fresh seafood, and live music playing softly in the background.

Walking along the wooden boardwalk feels like stepping into a postcard. The area is clean, well-maintained, and has that calming scent of the sea. It’s family-friendly, yet also perfect for a chill solo trip or even a romantic evening stroll. There are little souvenir shops, casual restaurants, and spots where you can just sit, breathe, and watch the boats.

I went around sunset and the lighting over the water was just magical. I highly recommend timing your visit during the golden hour—it completely transforms the place. If you’re into photography, you’ll love it here.

The only thing I found slightly disappointing was the price—some of the food and drinks felt a bit overpriced for what you get. But overall, the atmosphere and experience made up for it.

“I can't speak for in person service since I only ever get delivery, but the good here is so good.
The tortillas have a chokehold on me. They're so soft and light.
The vegetarian options are excellent. I love the black bean tacos.
They even have a soft+hard double shell option, which is fantastic.

The original Vietnamese restaurant we googled by Bridgeport led us to a location that was closed so we decided to stop by this place since we saw it also served pho among other things. We were very pleased with selecting this place after our initial viet restaurant wasn’t open. The food here is really good!! Kinda hope they can open one in NYC if they haven’t already! If not maybe I’ll make the trip up here again in the near future just for the food.“

Bridgeport CT is a a hidden gem, food is always beyond delicious, the chicken and the lamb are always well done, tasty and juicy, cheese cigars are the best, so yummy. The baba ganosh is just like back home and the baklava is so tasty. Awww the rice pudding is DELICIOUS. Everything is just perfect. also the customer service is always amazing and welcoming.
If there is more than FIVE stars I would give this cuisine, this place will be my " middle eastern " place to go when I grave Middle Eastern food AND TURKISH COFFEE in CT

I was going to Madison deli on the street, but decided to pop inside Paraiso instead. So glad! Ordered a shrimp quesadilla, not in the menu, but most places I've found are accommodating. I got the meal, which comes with rice and beans. I was gonna get a side of guacamole, but at $7, it was too rich for my blood. Figured I'd just enjoy what came with the meal. The inside is clean, quiet, you're not right on top of the next table. I was getting mine to go, but they are offering dining in. My plate came to 17.50. Got home. Cracked it open. A very decent portion. Heavy! I like that when I spend a lot! The quesadilla was on. The. Money! Fresh, ample shrimp. Gooey cheese. The rice and beans was tasty and fresh! Perfect texture of beans. And a fresh salad on the side with a sliced avocado. I was disappointed there was no guacamole, or even sour cream. Luckily I had my own dollop of daisy to add but I'll sadly have to try the guac another day. Either way im writing this F-U-L-L. I'll be back!“
