“We drove an hour to finally try Sweet Mia’s and it was absolutely worth it! Lemon Olive Oil cake with Ricotta and an espresso for me, Gelato for him. Just perfect. The cake was fluffy, moist, and not overwhelming sweet which is how it should be! The Gelato was smooth and delicious and the espresso was strong and hit wonderfully. We will return!“

“Went here this morning for the first time after seeing good reviews. After letting the woman working there know that we had never been there, she took the time to show us everything they had to offer and explain what they all were. We got chocolate cake and brigadieros. The cake was RICH, but it was so so good. And the brigadieros were DANGEROUSLY good. I will have to keep myself from going back and getting more immediately. There is very little parking, so you may have to walk a little bit to get there, but it is so worth it.

Parking: Street parking, its limited, but the place isn’t too busy so you should be able to find a spot!“

We were told it was not a good seller. It is a must try if they put it out again. You don’t know what you are missing. The flavors are unbelievable!“

I explained how many people I was hosting and that I didn’t know what or how many to order. They were unbelievably patient with me and told me they would take care of it. And did they ever!!!! “There is no other bakery like the International Bakery on Baldwin st. They care about their customers and haven’t forgotten their roots. You will find one of the owners always there and chatting with the customers about their day and their families. Walking into this bakery is like walking into a bakery in Portugal. It’s our own piece of tradition right in our back yard!“

“I have family in waterbury that we try and visit monthly and this is the first place we stop at each time and believe it or not it is just for the loaves of bread and my brother in law drives all the way from NH to grab just bread for certain occasions.... Amazing place. BTW the desserts are amazing breakfast sandwiches are huge and filling and of course Delicious! “Elizabeth's Bakery now has some GF items. Today I tried their GF blueberry muffin & brownie. The muffin is amazing! It didn't taste GF at all. Lots of blueberries, not overly sweet like some GF baked goods; great texture -not gummy at all; and a wonderfully big muffin like it's gluten containing counterpart. The brownie is soooo fudge! It is not gummy at all. Tastes just like a gluten containing brownie (well at least what I remember them tasting like). These are so much better than any GF brownie mix & better than any recipe I have made at home. It's been years since I have been able to purchase a great tasting GF item at a bakery. Thanks Elizabeth's Bakery for including a few GF items on your menu.“

“Brazilian Centro Bakery offers a very nice selection of traditional sweet and savory prepared Brazilian foods. I ordered the coxinha and a cheese-filled pastry, the name of which escapes me. They were crazy delicious! The staff was super friendly and helpful in explaining the choices to a non-native Brazilian. Can’t wait to return to try other dishes!“

“Costco: how do I love thee? Let me count the ways (just for the bakery). At Thanksgiving they have great pumpkin pies for a truly miniscule price you get a humongous pit! They have bluberry muffins (and other kinds too but we get bluberry only) that are double the size of anyone else anywhere and they are loaded with blueberries and they are like half the price of anywhere else. They have great baguette bread. They now make what they call frenchcountry loaf which to us more closely resembles Italian style crusty bread which we love. For birthdays and special occasions they custom make cakes. They have all types of pastries and cheese cakes and you will love it!“
