“Visiting CT this week (born & raised but living in AZ now)! Enjoyed breakfast at The Bees Knees Bistro with my favorite Aunt & Uncle who live in Wallingford! Food was yummy! As a vegan for health and dietary reasons I devoured the Banana Smash Toast! They both ordered The Basic Bee with no meat and sourdough toast! To our surprise , the eggs came out as a sandwich! Not expected but delicious nonetheless! Great options for all dietary requirements! Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free! Pricing is reasonable! Cozy space with indoor and outdoor seating! Only challenges we faced (may be due to outdoor seating): no silverware or napkins on the table and none brought with food; no creamer or spoons for coffee - even when we asked, we had to go inside and ask again. Having said all this, we will return!“

“1st visit. Ordered take out & grabbed a coffee during the brief wait. Service was efficient & friendly. Establishment was clean & welcoming. I deeply appreciate that they offer tofu. We ordered the “Vito” swapping chicken out for tofu & the “Cypress Garden” sandwiches… both were delicious. The prices were reasonable for the high quality of the ingredients. One was $10 the other $12 & this price even included choice of side: pasta salad, apple or chips. We chose the lemon basil pasta salad & it was just as delicious as the sandwich’s. “I've been coming to AJ's for over 20 years. literally every time I have friends from out of town visit me and want to have a drink and some good bar food we go to AJ's. every single one of my out-of-town friends always says this is the best bar food they've ever had in their life. I literally have friends who call me up to come to Meriden just to have food from AJ's. my kids are addicted to the food at AJ's as well . I can honestly say if I ever move out of Connecticut, AJ's is one of the very few restaurants that I would ever truly miss and want to stop by if I come back to Connecticut for a visit. “We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! Lots of specialty Italian food, cheeses etc. Super nice guy who made our espresso. We would definitely stop in again for more!“
