“The employee that was working was amazing. She made sure there were no peanuts in any of the ice cream I wanted to try. The food is very yummy. The place is very clean & cute. I also was impressed with how they fundraise for the school. I will definitely be going back.“
“Harry's Place has long been a Colchester stable for many decades (1925). It's even identified in Martin Podskoch's "Connecticut 169 Club" book, touring Connecticut's well-known favorites. It holds a special place in my heart as I've been participating in an annual gathering at Harry's for several years. Not only is the food and service spectacular (no... I mean REALLY spectacular!), Harry's Place helps prepare me for Spring and my 'to-do list' mindset with the help of gathering with old and new friends. We sit on one of the many available picnic tables or upon blankets on the spacious grounds with pockets of flower gardens to look at. I use this eatery as my starting point for another year's race for time and activities. And it doesn't hurt that I can frequent back throughout the season to be recharged (smile); the onion-rings are worth it in themselves.I hope Harry's will be around for many more years to come!Bon appetit!Theresa Kegley of Middletown, CTParking: While I do ride my motorcycle there, parking is never an issue. The parking lot is well pressed down so motorcycles don't have issues of loose gravel. And for vehicles of any size and shape, there are plenty of spaces for you too.Kid-friendliness: Lots of room on the grass for kid's to be kids; and as it has a family feel to it, children are well protected.“
“This place really is a hidden gem I've been coming here since they've opened & I never have to wait long at all for my fix,They have amazing frappes and also the sandwiches are so fulfilling after a long day both are really enjoyed together ! This place really deserves more recognition“
“We love stopping in Oh Fudge! The front room is filled to the brim with handmade chocolates and fudge among other sweet treats. We visited before Easter and couldn't believe the unique molded chocolates, wrapped beautifully ready to gift. The freezer was stocked with gorgeously decorated ice cream cakes. Of course we had to each get scoops of their Big Dipper ice cream and with a big family we get a pretty big selection to sample. Each flavor we had was rich and flavorful and served to us so patiently. We look forward to our next trip.“
“So many delicious flavors of Ice Cream, Sundays, Banana Splits, Malts, Milkshakes and more - something for everyone, including Pup Cups! The owners and employees are very welcoming, accommodating, and the atmosphere is second to none. We enjoy visiting the Moodus Ice Cream Parlor every chance we get. Definitely the Best!!“
“Take my money (which they happily did). We were in the area for a family vacation and felt like we needed a break from the beach. Found this place and so glad we did! There was so much to do and we thoroughly enjoyed all it. Huge dinosaurs and was pretty educational. There were additional activities, like a train, putt putt, bike riding, etc. Beyond that, there was also a maze, an AMAZING splash pad and great playground with obstacles. Easily wore my kid out. Only criticism was how long it took to get through the concessions line. Also, if you plan to do the splash pad, don't forget towel and extra dry clothes! Highly recommend for dinosaur fanatics if in the area, but with how much money we spent, would only take kids that are old enough to truly enjoy it.“
“Cute little ice cream place with a small indoor area and picnic tables outside to eat. With so many flavors it's hard to choose, but I went for a classic chocolate peanut butter and added some chocolate sprinkles on top. They have many different cones & toppings to choose from, so you can make your ice cream your own! Sizes are also large and reasonably priced.“
“I have eaten at this DQ since I can remember. It is just down from the college (Eastern Connecticut University) and quite popular with the college crowd as well as all the team sportsters who stop by to get a bite after a game. I do love the Blizzrds- but they seem to stick to me and I've been a cone small -onl y for a while here. The staff is well trained, friendly and quick at their jobs. A friend of mine was visiting from mid NewHampshire and as we approached he said this will be hours -- I usually give r up---- but he was amazed at the quick and accurate service. Kudos to a well run operation“
“Salem Valley Farms has some of the best ice cream I've had in a while! I recently went and ordered the Pumpkin Pie Sundae, which was SO GOOD! Pumpkin ice cream topped with caramel sauce, graham cracker crumbs, whipped cream, and cinnamon. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Quick, friendly service. They just have a window to order/pickup, with no indoor seating, but there are picnic tables on the side where you can sit. Overall a great ice cream spot!“
“Stopped for the first time. We got the mushroom swiss burger, med rare with fries. Burger was large, nicely grilled on a flat top, not open flame. Was a bit over cooked, but still good. Mushrooms were OK, but not freshed sliced and grilled. Overall, still a good burger and I'll go back. Fries... spot on!“
