“The restaurant was clean, host was very attentive, lobster bisque had huge chucks of lobster, awesome cosmos, we had stir fry, and princess chicken glad we took the ride. It is well worth visiting.“

“Went here for my birthday dinner with my family and we had a wonderful meal/time. The portions are HUGE. Your table gets free pasta with dinner and it's a really big bowl! The service was good, the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had to often find our waitress, she didn't check on us and I would say it's because it's a busy place but it's so small that it isn't hard to check on your tables. She was nice and the service was good just wish she would have checked on us a little more. Lastly the atmosphere is great, it's a nice small little restaurant, I expected it to be bigger but not an issue. If you have a party of 5 or more make sure to make a reservation so you can guarantee a table. Anyway food 5/5 service 4/5 atmosphere 5/5 ... We will def be eating here again...“

“As many know I review lobster rolls, I’ve wanted to come here for a while to review their roll on account they have been getting a lot of traction in the lobster roll game. First we will start out the Crescendo, the atmosphere was spot on with the fine establishment being right on the water, furthermore I was shocked and excited to see the out door eating area was completely enclosed with clear material for the winter weather. That’s a plus, a lot of places loose the eat by the water vibe during the winter season, but not this place it’s absolutely excels, adapts, and overcomes anything that gets thrown at it. Now on to the service, everyone was very nice. I didn’t know they opened at 11:30 and I called at 11, that however wasn’t a problem for them they took my order anyways and said it would be ready at 11:30, that however wasn’t the case. We were actually waved into the restaurant by a server with a smile on her face saying our food was ready. I saw the big guy at the bar himself Captain Stu! While she got my food, I was greeted by him with a smile and asked how my day was going. It’s a weird feeling when a restaurant does everything right, it seems like restaurants took about 10 steps back when it comes to costumer service since the pandemic. That’s not the case for this place, it’s something warming about going into an establishment and being meant with kind people who look like they are loving their life and job…. I digress, now for what this whole review is about. The Maine event if you will, the lobster roll. Upon looks I knew this one was different, as I closed my eyes and took the first bite I could hear the seagulls, the waves crashing. I could feel the salt in the air, kids laughing and making sand castles. The lobster meat, truly never frozen, no lemon flavor to cover up sub par lobster meat. Truly buttery and you didn’t even need teeth to take this one down. It was like captain Stu himself of the SS Dock 10 caught a pot full of Maine lobsters from the harbor, put them straight into a pot poached them in home made butter. The smells of the lobsters hit you as he toasts up a delicious fresh brioche roll he got from the bakery fresh and still hot from being made. He builds this magical roll, but no no no he’s not done it’s not over he chops up some green onions from his own garden that’s morning! To make each bite truly an orgasmic experience. But ever story, and dream comes to an end, all that’s left for captain Stu to do is bring you back to the dock where you reflect on a lobster roll you will never forget. I only review the best and the worst lobster rolls and let me tell you this meets the best lobster roll in ct tear. It use to be one roll to rule them all. No more it’s 3 establishments who have consistently setting the standards higher and higher. I’m pleased to say this establishment is now one of those top three who deserves best lobster roll in ct. My one critique to make it even better but this is me being nit picky, would be to include a side of that extra amazing butter for people who would want more warm butter as they eat. That’s it! “I celebrated my birthday at the Seal tonight. We haven't been in a while. I had the Short Rib Ravioli, Mom had the Serloin Steak, my wife had Tuna and our son a grilled cheese. Everything was delicious! Our server said she was new, but did a great job. We finished with warm Carmel apple pie! It was the perfect ending to a great night!“

“This is absolutely my favorite place to eat in old saybrook. Whether it be breakfast or lunch or dinner I have not been disappointed. I was especially impressed by breakfast here. My waitress Paige was so accommodating and kind. She made all the difference in the experience we had. I wish they had 10 of her. I would highly recommend for atmosphere hospitality and food. Above and beyond and excellent.

I have been back a dozen times since the review posted above. Valentine's Day brunch was nice. The dining enhanced by the pasta station which was fabulous. Chef Lam is simply amazing! He went out of his way to make the food and the Fresh Salt experience perfect. Staff like this will keep us coming back again and again. Thanks Fresh Salt and Thank you Lam.

Since my last review I have continued to visit Fresh Salt. It is hard to believe that my experience has been better and better.

Owner Viola so genuine and sincere. She is thoughtful and really cares about her customers experience in her hotel and restaurant. She also cares about people and that shows. “Great 👍🏻 Food!! It was my first time eating at Bill’s, but went with family that has been. For a busy Sunday afternoon we got in fast, no wait, got an inside table and it was nice and comfortable! Food was great 👍🏻 the prices were also very good for seafood around the area! Our Waitress was so sweet (I didn’t catch her name) but she did remind me that I forgot my gold ring on the table before I left so I thank her with all my heart ❤️ (I got ketchup inside my rings so I took one off) I forgot to put it back on! “everything was good except the Rhode Island clam chowder , they need to put real clams in instead of ground up tiny specs very disappointed yesterday in the chowder all we got was broth and potatoes with tiny bits of clam“

“Excellent!! Crab cake appetizer was the "best I've ever had" according to my son. There were four of us and all were very pleased. I've been twice and looking forward to going back. This restaurant is definitely the place to go when you want to take your time between courses and enjoy the food and people you are with. I like the 20% service charge(tip) added to bill. “Been shopping at this fish monger since 1999, from org. owners.Fast forward, Lisa F. bought business (guessing 2004-2006) I have NEVER had an issue with any fish or side etc. purchased including to present! My favs: Ahi tuna, Niantic oysters, Wellfleet oysters, sea scallops, swordfish, grouper, clams, sea bass, oysters rockefeller, carolina slaw, to name a few!
Lisa F. added a larger variety of fish products and sides! Chef Jerry created fantastic recipes (Carolina Slaw) amongst others! NYT review said "Any fresher you'd have to catch it yourself" Fast forward to mid 2004, Lisa said she was retiring (OH NO!) But ironically, sold the business to LISA and MIKE K., whom she introduced me to! Basically telling them, Mark supports your businesss all year long! please take care of him! Which they have! I might be long winded!, but NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ATLANTIC FISH IN OSB! PS: Lynne has been there NOW P/T FOREVER! Tell her Mark sent you in!“

“I’ve been thinking about Jia Mei’s dry cooked food. Today I tried the 5 Spice prawns which was served of a bed of warm lettuce, red peppers, and fresh sliced chilis. It was delicious, flavorful, colorful, and spicy. This cooking technique is a style of Chinese cooking which is hard to find on the shoreline. Yum!“

“It's a Friday night and we're meeting up with some friends! One of them suggested Marker 37 for a variety of reasons and today, we're going to find out why! Here's how things went for me during my visit. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the Connecticut River in Chester, CT connected to its own marina is this gem. Reservations are recommended especially in the summertime since THIS is the place where you wanna be. We were here in early April so things hadn't quite picked up, but at least the snow was gone and we didn't need to wear super heavy coats. The parking lot is massive so if it's busy you'll be walking for a minute before you get to the door. But once inside it's pretty modern, chill and relaxed. The decor isn't over-the-top. Everything is straight-edged and just... almost minimalistic. However, we sat in the patio area that was certainly heated so we could see the view of the water while the sun set. It was a wide-open setting and I'm very glad the restaurant didn't smash too many tables and chairs in there. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but I don't remember having any issues throughout dinner. It was fairly slow so I didn't expect any hold-ups. Food/Drinks: I started off with an old-fashioned which was fine. Nothing crazy. Next up was a New England clam chowder which is perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Textures were good and so were the seasonings. Spot-on. For dinner I went with their Prime Rib! It came out perfectly medium-rare with a side of fingerling potatoes, grilled squash, au jus and horseradish sauce. It was good. Just... kinda not exciting. :-/ Maybe I should've gone the seafood route since we were on the water. But no matter. Value: Not too crazy here. It's a nice restaurant, but prices aren't out of control. You can totally come here to chill, have a drink and an app or a full-on family dinner and not be upset at the final bill. In conclusion I liked it here, just not enough to want to drive all the way out here again. Would I come back? Sure, if I were invited by friends and stuff, but I highly encourage you reading this to pay this place a visit and enjoy the views! Thank you for reading.“

“Love the Deck and LOVE the fact they pay attention to not serving those under age. More establishments need to be aware of this and enforce it! The Deck is a wonderful place! Great bartenders, great service, great food, and great overall atmosphere. Other patrons are always friendly and just there to enjoy themselves and have a good time! Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a laid back place to enjoy a drink. Plenty of space to move about and plenty of parking as well!“

“Stayed here for a family vacation the amenities were amazing they have a Starbucks inside of the spa and the spa itself was a treat to be there for it was a very relaxing place to spend a vacation I would recommend it to all my friends and family“
