“Went with my daughter and we got to plates and two sodas. Paid over $50 for food that was ok but not great. The service was fast but its really more of a take out place. We dined in and it felt like we were eating in their back pantry. The table was so wobbly we decided to make a game of it to see who could eat without spilling. Would not go back again.“

“I usually order either the General Tao or Orange Chicken, along with a combo. Everything taste good and this place is always my first pick. No one has better rice or crab rangoon either. Plus there are other things like donuts, French fries, chicken nuggets!?“

“Wanted something spicy and this was the only Asian food in a 2 mile radius. We were on a long drive and didn't want to go hunting for another restaurant. So Cheng's Chinese Garden it was.

The menu had the usual American Chinese fare (General Tsos, Beef and Broccoli etc.) but there was a section that looked promising - the names of the dishes hinted at the more traditional Chinese dishes.

We order egg drop soup and hot and sour soup to start. They didn't disappoint. The main course was a dry beans dish and a pork and cabbage "spicy" dish.

The dry beans dish was just outstanding! Such a simple dish. Prepared with some pickles (not the ones you are thinking of) that added a bit of extra taste - made the dish worth recommending. Definitely try it.
The pork dish was tasty but more sweet than spicy. Not overly sweet like sweet and sour dishes but unmistakably sweet. We asked for some chillies sauce on the side but that didn't help the dish much. It was not bad by any means. Just not the spicy we were craving.

Service was fast and friendly. The soup came out non sooner than we finished ordering. The restaurant is clean and the decoration in unmistakably Chinese. If some one walked you in there with blindfolds on and you would know instantly what to expect when your blindfolds came off :-).“

“They have an AMAZING vegan menu!! Any time we are remotely close to Gold Chopsticks, we order. The Citrus Ribz and Triple Crown are so so good! The meat replacements are only tofu. They use either seitan or tofu skin and the texture is perfect. I highly recommend. If they can do amazing vegan, I’m sure the rest is equally phenomenal!!“

They cook delicious.Good portion.It is a place that they visit a lot.But it is not a place to eat, there is on the table, it is more to take the food home. Its Owners are Chinese, very feisty and hard-working people. Its owners are a couple.and they are the the only ones that run this restaurant.

Wheelchair accessibility: It has its ramp for the wheelchair. A bit of a problem is holding the door.“

“Super good! I really enjoy their general tso's chicken. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because the menu says you can adjust the spice but every time I order it I am unable to make it spicy. The last time I ordered it I asked for it to be extra spicy and it didn't even have a hint of spice.
Golden fingers are huge!
Customer service is always great. Everyone there is kind and accommodating. It's rather small inside and employees are usually sitting at the tables so I don't believe I would ever eat there. Takeout is great though! They also deliver.

They’re ALWAYS busy but manage to prepare your order in a timely manner.Personal favorite is letter M with a substitution of beef lo mein instead of vegetables. “I don't understand why so many people give Ho Mei bad reviews. So far, it is my favorite Chinese food in Springfield. Is it fancy? No. However, it is quality food and really affordable. The gentleman who is usually at the front desk is very friendly and his service is great. If you go there as much as I do, they will remember your face and likely your order (if it stays the same). We ordered the General Tso's Chicken dinner box and that was great! We also ordered the Pu Pu Platter and got, amongst the other items, 6 Chicken fingers and one fried shrimp! The rest of the platter was fine but one shrimp?!? It was very tasty too which made us all the sadder. Chicken fingers were good but 6 was quite a lot. “An affordable family-run take out Chinese food.
I stopped by to pickup some Chinese food. Beef noodle for my kids and general Tsao’s combo for me.
Everything came out hot. The egg rolls took the longest. It was crunchy and I could tell it was home made.
The noodles was OK. It was a bit light on ingredients but at this price point, that’s fine.
General Tsao was interesting. Small pieces of chicken, individually thickly coated, and sauces generously. No broccoli but at this price, can’t ask for it. It had a nice crunch and flavor was good. It came in a smallish container but it was packed full of food.
They put in utensils I asked for along with sauces.
When I was there, bunch of kids were there and they were helping out. It’s nice to see family run shops. The woman taking order was super friendly and asked about my kids.
If you want an affordable and generously portioned meal, these guys are great.“

“Friendly gentleman took my order and made my order fresh from that point. The prices are much better than the gold chopsticks place located nearby and the prices are much lower. I think the food was actually better too. More, and better food for a fraction if the price to me is a no brainer. Smart customers will definitely go here. I will be returning soon and often.

These people are great to me and my family, and it's very nice to keep a family tradition.
Food is always good, I may have had 1 issue and house of Huang fixed it quick. They care about their customers.

While others have had skyrocketing prices, they have maintained similar prices with large portions. “Ordered delivery. Arrived quickly, all meals were hot. We all had lunch specials which come with pork fried rice and a vegetable egg roll. All main dishes were tasty- sweet and sour chicken done with all white meat,general tso chicken also done with white meat and shrimp egg fo young, with brown sauce (usual have white sauce) but it was good. Vegetable egg rolls were not as fresh as we like. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and it was nice to order delivery. Prices and serving sizes were excellent. “Good for what they are! This is not top of the line Chinese food, nor is it bottom of the barrel, they are mid-level. Food tastes good, not amazing, but you're not let down either. They raised their prices post-pandemic, even though they were open throughout it. They no longer have a lunch buffet due to the pandemic, but overall they are friendly here and they make food that's good enough that you'll want to come back, but it's not so amazing that you're going to tell people "I got a gem for you.."“
