“Hands down one of the best taverns that I have ever been to. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. The food was a bit on the higher end side, price wise, but it was definitely worth it. I would recommend getting the Chili Garlic Crispy Shrimp, the Paccheri Pasta, the Steamed Mussels, and the Steak Frites.“

“Susan Kane just catered my wedding for my husband and I on Saturday September 11th. We had a gorgeous wedding outside in Niantic at McCook Park. It is very hard to have an outside wedding these days and having the menu that we really wanted. We had an appetizer wedding which included a lot of high-end appetizers. We had some issues with the rentals that I got from Taylor Rental but Susan and her staff made it work and the food was absolutely amazing. Their staff hustled all day and everyone enjoyed their scrumptious and delectable food!! If you think you can't have an elegant wedding outside, think again. We had everything from tuna, lobster rolls crab cakes pulled chicken, beef sliders, Etc. The charcuterie station was to die for!! You cannot believe the amount of food that we had and the quality. “We've eaten here a bunch of times before this night. We chose the Local Kitchen on this night because we knew that we could enjoy some good food at the bar and watch the NY Rangers game. It's not a "sport's bar" but they have TV'S all around the bar. The bartender put the Rangers game on for us when we asked. My dad was in the mood for some comfort food and ordered the grilled cheese and a very delicious bowl of tomato soup. I know that the soup was really good because I tasted it. I ordered a very nice salad and added seared tuna. The tuna wasn't one of the options on the menu but I asked and they didn't disappoint. Everything was perfect, but then enjoying some food while watching the Rangers game with my dad always is.Vegetarian options: Not lot's of vegetarian choices but enough.Dietary restrictions: Just ask and your meal can be prepared to suit any dietary restrictions.“
“Good soups however if you have a favorite you may have to be patient they sellout or don't make some of their options in a regular basis Another watch-out for is some bathes are saltier than others so I recommend Saratoga before buying“
“During a five-night stay in the area, I ate here three times. It was delicious. I loved the bang-bang shrimp bowl and the shrimp and clam scampi. So good! I also enjoyed the salmon wrap with sweet potato fries, though it wasn't as great as the other dishes. While the food arrived quickly, the wait staff did seem overwhelmed, especially the bar. It took quit awhile to get a cocktail. If I'm in Southport again, I'll definitely eat here again.“
