“5 ⭐️We went here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from Sacred Heart University. Their location in Trumbull near the college was over an hour wait. Found out there was a second (original ) location in Stratford, On the phone they told us to come right over, they were waiting for us. When we arrived they welcomed us with open arms, were super friendly and super attentive. They treated my daughter like a super star. The food was delicious and the cocktails were so creative and tasty. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.“

“Spent seven hours at the baseball fields on father's day and couldn't have been happier to have an hour to grab lunch with my boys. Ordered like ten items a bunch of drinks and it was 50$. Fish and chips looked great, kid said it was awesome. Fried zucchini always my favorite. Wife got a side of fried shrimp. Its just perfect every time. It is what it is. An honest fresh cooked meal quick for cheap. Thank u to the people who work there yall the mvps..super busy and they crushed it. Its a better burger than 5 guys fight me.

“This place by far is the best burger joint in the Valley. Easily. My favorite is the cutlet sandwich, my mother in law swears by the fried seafood platter, my husband loves the bacon cheeseburgers. We all love the chili dogs and their fries. If you’re a morning person, their bacon egg and cheese is the best I’ve ever had. Plus, Pricila and Sam are so incredibly nice. Highly recommend.“

“The Village Cafe is one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch. A true hidden treasure in the heart of Ansonia. The quality of the food made here is second to none, and the value for what you pay can't be beat. I always order the house salad with grilled chicken & my co workers love the chicken breakfast burrito, but we have tried pretty much everything on the menu and it is all equally as good. The Village Cafe team is top notch and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful place nearby.“

“Great place for dining and drinks, especially when you compare it to the other establishments in the area. The best quality is the service, which is surprisingly pristine considering how busy this place gets, especially during happy hour. The place can be packed to the brim with people, and you will still get served quickly without diminishing the quality of the food/drinks. You can watch the bartenders make the drinks in front of you, and they serve you within minutes without cutting corners, before moving onto the next person. I’ve seen places half as busy, take twice as long to serve their patrons.“

“First, to call SOB a hidden gem would be doing it a disservice, per all the five-star reviews! The better term is off the beaten path, but undoubtedly worth a purposeful trip. I am admittedly a bit of a sandwich snob, and Michelle's porchetta special did NOT disappoint. As a matter of fact, she was so genuinely charming and sincere in her description of it, that all three of us ordered the exact same thing, and the full-size grinder at that. This was a BIG sandwich, even by my standards, and the components were all top-notch. Somehow, the meat was still juicy and tender, even sliced thin and griddled on the flat top. The provolone was melted nicely, and the marinated peppers had just enough bite to balance the richness. She gave us a cup of au jus for dipping as well, which was greatly appreciated. Taste and value aside, Michelle may just be the start of the show. Her hospitable kindness and welcoming spirit made the food even better, to the effect that we were already planning our next visit before we even left. “I’ve never really written a restaurant review before, but Parker was honestly incredible. The portions were generous, the prices felt very fair, and everything we ordered was great.

What really stood out was the owner coming over and personally taking care of us. We were a group of 16, including 8 kids, which isn’t exactly an easy table, and they handled it effortlessly. Drinks were on point, the music was great, and the whole vibe of the place just works.

Definitely one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit. I just wish they’d open a location on Long Island.“

The wait staff was attentive and I will be back if for nothing other than to grab another helping of the fried artichokes. Parking can be a little iffy as the dedicated lot is small, but we were easily able to park on the street outside the restaurant.“
