“Ate at this restaurant as me and family were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge (GWL). This restaurant is quite a walk from the GWL, if kids cannot walk distances, recommend to bring a stroller. Otherwise you can do a quick drive for 2 minutes, free parking. Food, is alright. Don't expect authentic Asian Chinese food, but scratches that itch. Some dishes are excessively salty, but manageable. Staff is nice and friendly though in my experience. A little bit hard to find as it's tucked in the corner but it's near Hell's Kitchen and Tanger Outlets. A little bit pricey.“

“Feels Like Home – Amazing Cantonese Food! Golden Palace in Connecticut is hands down one of the best Cantonese restaurants I’ve been to. Their dim sum is so authentic — just like the kind you’d get in Hong Kong or southern China. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. What really makes this place special is the people. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming — every time I come here, I feel like I’m back home in China. It’s that kind of warm, family-style hospitality that’s hard to find these days. Whether you’re craving dim sum or a comforting Cantonese meal, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!“

“This is a hidden gem in Mystic. Much cheaper than many of the more expensive eateries in town, yet the food is better than most of those places. The Thai tea in their fridge is cheap yet surprisingly good (forgive my cynicism, but I’ve come to associate inexpensive Thai tea with very low quality Thai tea, yet theirs defied that stereotype). Having their sesame bean curd while sitting among their humble little stone benches / rock garden / flower bushes out front, can make for a charming stop for one walking around Mystic.“
“Freshly cooked, crab rangoons are amazing, shrimp dumplings are perfect, eat in so you get it hot and fresh!“

“Best Chinese food I’ve EVER had. Highly recommend this place the food was ABSOLUTELY SMACKIN the chicken had the taste of the soul from the individual who cooked up the absolute mouth watering chicken I’ve ever tasted. The scallion pancakes were delicious as well, I also got the vegetable dumplings they were 🔥 with the dipping sauce I can’t recommend this place anymore than I have. Let the food speak for itself.“

“We ordered from this place on New Year’s day, literally because we just moved into a new place near by this Chinese Restaurant and our old place was closed… so we Googled what was near us and tried it. So I ordered online, and called the restaurant to make sure they received the order. The manager had to check but called me back and was very happy and nice over the phone. I am a restaurant worker too, so I left an online note that I’d be tipping $10 in cash and Happy New Year! The driver was super kind and smiley. So far.. so good. Me, my son and my dad are pretty picky about or Chinese and boy did China Express … IMPRESS! We tasted every item of each other’s complimenting the freshness, attention to detail, portion size, ease of ordering and of course the taste was phenomenal. To be honest— the best Chinese food we’ve had in this area. For the cost, and kindness— it was such a great New Years treat. I hope you all enjoy!“

“We’ve been coming here for the last few years and have never been disappointed. Service is quick, and food flavor and quality is consistent, with good value (portion wise) for the price. Our family of 4 can easily have dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day, for about $75.
If you’re looking for DimSum, this isn’t the spot for you. If you’re looking for quick Chinese takeout, this place is perfect.“

“Great food! Get take out!
You can watch the cooks making the food, tho the covid wall stayed up...
Building is old and dining area very....simple.
If you stay inside very long all your clothes and hair will pick up the greasy odor!
Very nice people!“

“China Garden has some of the best-tasting food in town. The owners are wonderful and always make sure the food is fresh. The restaurant is consistently clean, which I really appreciate. I usually order the house special fried rice, and it’s always packed with shrimp, fresh vegetables, and great flavor. It’s definitely one of my go-to spots! I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“Tonight I ordered the Hunan Beef, and it was absolutely amazing! The best Hunan Beef I've ever had! It's nothing like what I've tried at other restaurants. Also the lady at the front desk provided excellent service too, and I didn't have to wait long.“

“I ordered the Formosa Chicken which comes with porkfried rice and an eggroll. It was delicious! Best Chinese food I've had in years. The chicken was very fresh and white,it had snowpeas, sliced carrots ( perfectly cooked! Not too hard not too soft! I'm fussy about my carrots!), baby corn ( did not taste canned, these tasted fresh!),mushrooms (also fresh and tasty, not slimey!), crunchy water chestnuts ( sliced) and bamboo shoots, and some other vegetables ( maybe onion or celery or it might have been bok choy, not sure about that one,but also tasty, whatever it was! The pork fried rice was the yellow type, which I prefer, with peas, and the red pork ,(not the type drowning in soy sauce, I really don't care for that type of pork fried rice),and the egg roll was just like the ones back in the 1970's which I loved! Crispy ,and cooked just right! And the dinner I got was a smallish container ,but it was actually more than enough, and I'll have the remaining 1/2 which I literally could not eat the rest, tomorrow for lunch. The service was very speedy. I gave a lower score for atmosphere ,because it's only take out,so who cares how it looks! The food tasted great! That's all that really matters! I should also say, the sauce the chicken and vegetables came in was a whitish clear sauce, extremely mild and subtle. If you like hot spicy food, this is about as opposite as it gets! This is for very refined taste buds. This is classic American Chinese food at its best( real Chinese food,I'm told ,tastes nothing like our American Chinese food, but if you grew up with American Chinese food of the 1970s as I did, you'll love King Wah! I highly recommend it!“
“I love this place. My family gets take out at least a few times a year from them for a year or so now. It’s our go to spot for Chinese food. It’s always fun when we do dine in. I haven’t found Chinese food that even comes to how good this place is anywhere else (in this part of CT). Highly recommend“

“My food was delicious. However, I have one suggestion, and an observation. First, back off on the sugar. My beans were sweet, ribs too sweet, the Chinese restaurants around here have taken to adding so much sugar, it doesn’t even taste savory, only sweet. Beef up on the black bean sauce, throw in some hoisin, don’t be afraid to season it. When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I want Chinese food, not Chinese American food. “Chinese” vegetables have practically disappeared off the menu replaced with regular veggies. Where’s the Bok Choi, the bitter melon, the black mushrooms, the closest I can find is a bit of bok choi, bamboo shoots, maybe water chestnuts and that’s it. I don’t want carrots and peas in my fried rice, it’s not right, I want bean sprouts! Ok, back to the review. Good points: hot food, beans perfectly cooked but it said spicy and it wasn’t spicy at all, the Sichuan wonton were supposed to be spicy too. In short, increase seasonings and spices, back off the sugar, and it would be perfect. The food was delivered hot, well packaged and wrapped thoughtfully. Presentation 100%. I will definitely be back to try again.“

“Very good experience, went several times, the first time was recommended from a friend, I had doubts but it went away, so it was absolutely worth it to go. We ordered things we would never had ordered and everything was in tip top shape and food was hot and ready before we got there. Service was great, the guy up front was great and talkative, makes us feel like we belong.“

“Classic Chinese takeout ambiance. Casual seating inside. Chicken fingers with duck sauce are fantastic. Lots of variety in the veggies with the chicken and garlic sauce. Dumplings were pretty good. My go to Chinese food restaurant in the area!“

“They have a few tables, but I've never seen anyone eating there.
It's (for me) primarily a take out place.
I found Golden Wok in the middle 90's when they were on Bayonet St. There menu and food quality hasn't changed in that 27 years.
I moved out of New London in 2003 and I travel back to Golden Wok at least 6 or 7 times a year.“

“The staff was very fast and attentive. The food was hot and delicious didn't taste old like it had been sitting out. They have different kinds of desserts but of what I liked the most was that they had an ice cream station and you could help yourself as you wanted. All around I'm going to be going back to that place to give it another go and hope that it's still the same good quality that I had in this visit.“

“Typical Panda Express chain. Can get busy during lunch time and lines form. Garbage can pile up as its not taken out in a timely manner. I think the place is severely understaffed. I feel bad for the workers. Food is ok no complaints, ample serving. We were staying at the nearby Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) . It is quite a walk from there! If you have a small child better bring a stroller. Otherwise you can drive, parking is free. Great for lunch or bring it to go back to the GWL to eat.“
