I had the sweet potato pound cake, brownie, brown butter s’mores cookie, carrot cupcake, and red velvet… 10/10

“This place has a variety of pastries. It's a bit on the expensive side but the pastries have a nice size. You get to pick your own from hundreds. If the photos don't seem appealing enough, wait until you walk in, the smell will wrap around your nose and pull you away from diets 😋.“

“My husband surprised me with a Princess cake. I mentioned I’d love to try one after seeing it in a baking show. He searched online and Marjolaine’s was the only place he could find. He drove over an hour to pick it up and it was well worth the drive! We just picked up a Dacquoise. This one was a request from our daughter. We tried a smaller version that was in the case. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! We are heading back in the beginning of April for a Marjolaine for our daughter in law. It is well worth the trip!!!“

“We ordered cupcakes for two different parties in one weekend and Sweet Mary’s did not disappoint. Great, yummy, moist cupcakes and terrific service. Sweet Mary’s is the best for cupcakes hands down!!!“

“Not only is the bread delicious, but the owner went above and for my aunt! She came in right as the place was closing to pick up bread she had reserved. She didn’t realize they were cash only, so she left empty handed. 15 mins later the owner calls and offers to meet my aunt in her hometown to deliver the bread. Service above and beyond!“

“This was my very first time in this one particular and I was very much impressed with its cleanliness, elegance, and a majority of the presentation of their baked goods. 4 out of 5!!!! I’m terribly sorry that you lost a star but that matcha brownie tasted absolutely disgusting. Never again will I buy it!!! Sorry sweetheart but it’s lacking sugar. However I do love the sweet cream filled bread you sold me. Thank you very much for helping me figure out what I want for breakfast tomorrow. Lastly, the cream green tea cake was absolutely divine. All this from being served by an incredibly gorgeous and really cashier/manager who I had to tip handsomely. I’ll definitely stop by on payday to give their specialty caffeinated drinks a try.“

“The little outlet store attached to the great big bakery is a fantastic hidden gem. I can't recommend their breads (real, flavorful, crusty breads) and pastries enough. And I always look forward to chatting with Susan when I'm picking up bread for the week.“

I brought home 2 cupcakes and a piece of bread pudding amd everyone enjoyed them! While I do not live in New Haven, I would definitely take the 20 minute drive to get some sweets, have a cup or coffee....“
