My pops and I stopped first at Stonington Point, the American flag waving strong over the water. He looked at it and said, “I did my 20.” That line hit deep. From there, we made our way to Breakwater, a beautiful spot right on the harbor. The second we stepped inside, we were greeted by that warm coastal glow thru bright windows, with beautiful waterfront views, and a calm, classy energy. 💣 And then came one of those full-circle moments life throws at you sometimes… Our server was Trina, someone I worked with almost 30 years ago at Mohegan Sun Casino. Seeing her again made the day even more special. She was absolutely wonderful, kind, quick, and professional. It was everything you could expect. Service was top-notch. 💣 Now let’s talk about that food 👇🏾 1️⃣ Crispy Fried Calamari- $17.50 💣 Light, crispy, and perfectly fried. The cherry peppers gave it just the right kick, and that Thai Chili sauce was straight fire. Pops and I tore it down in minutes 🤷🏾‍♂️😀 both calling it a bomb. 2️⃣ Fish & Chips- $24.50 💣 Fried Atlantic Cod - Done golden and perfect. My fries were crispy and seasoned just right; My Pops went with sweet potato fries. Delicious Coleslaw, and with cocktail sauce every bite of fish hit. Comfort food at its best. We both said bomb 3️⃣ Seafood Pasta- $34.50 💣 This one was loaded: four big scallops, three shrimp, crab meat and two thick lobster pieces all swimming in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce with a little sweetness from the julienne veggies. “The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. There is only outdoor seating so this spot recently reopened on April 25th for the Season. This afternoon my Brother AP, his children & I dropped into Sea Swirl to find out if they are serving up Good Lobster Rolls and I also had to try out one of their new "Lobster Cones". I ordered and reviewed: 1. Lobster Bisque Cone $13.99 💣 2. Hot Lobster Roll $28.99 👍🏾 I started with the Lobster Bisque Cone and enjoyed every delicious spoonful! The Lobster Cone is similar to a bread bowl with Lobster Bisque but the cone tastes like a croissant. So good! I gave it a Thumbs up but in hindsight it really deserved a bomb 💣 because it was Top Notch! Next I dove into the Lobster roll. First off, the price of the Lobster Roll is lower than most spots and it was absolutely delicious! I loved it and it earned a Thumbs👍🏾 I will drop into Sea Swirl for Lobster Rolls and Lobster Cones all summer long because that spot is Dope! “Rode my Harley from Hartford down to Mystic today to have lunch at Oyster Club. I was amazed at how good the oysters were. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the roast beef sandwich off the lunch menu. It was just as delicious. They even have a tree house with seating for dining. If I could give six stars, I would. I will definitely be back. If you are thinking about going there, then go. “One of the best options for a fast n’ healthy dinner, if ya don’t want to cook :) The salads are made fresh (tabouleh is the best!) daily, and I like their chicken club wrap with extra mayo. I get the grilled chicken, and they are a little on the dryer side, but it’s balanced by the lettuce, bacon, mayo, and (I add) the tabouleh salad 😉 The stuffed grape leaves are very tasty. Once the grape leaves and the fattoush weren’t fresh (that was last year). I mentioned it to them, and the food has remained consistently fresh since. My office also gets catered platters and salads from Gansett Wraps, and they are very generous, fresh, and very tasty. Wraps are awesome to take home instead of the regular grocery store bread, and you get a lot for the cost. It’s a local best bet!“

“We just took my daughter for her 17th birthday, she originally wanted sushi. She looked at the menu and immediately changed her mind and chose to try her first seafood boil! She absolutely LOVED IT! The servers are fast and friendly and the food is GREAT! She chose snow crab legs and black mussels, my boyfriend had a crab cluster combo and I had a sausage boil combo. “01.26.25- 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' - Little Galapagos Restaurant ❤️ City of New London ❤️ I dropped into The Little Galapagos Restaurant this evening to review a couple of their popular menu items which were Chicken Wings, Thai Chilli Sauce followed by Carne Asada Ecuadorians Style meal that was actually really Dope ❤️ however the Chicken wings were not great at all so they earned a Thumbs 👎🏾 The atmosphere and service was really dope there and I am sure that had I ordered anything else on the menu besides the Wings would have been just as good as the Carne Asada.
