“Such a lovely venue. This charming yacht club offers a respite from the more heavily touristed areas of Long Island and has a more local feel. The staff were very welcoming and the chef was brilliant too. The restaurant has been recommended to us by Viking Fleet, as somewhere to bring our catch for cooking. We had caught around 5 good sized Porgies and a couple of Sea Bass. The chef turned these into dishes from around the world. Tempura, fish tacos, bang bang salad and a Chinese style rice dish.

“I had my daughter and her fiancés Welcome Party the night before their wedding at Cap’s last weekend. I booked while Sammy was still owner. He graciously handed my party over to the new owner Amy as she took over the restaurant. While they all were doing the work for their opening, Amy worked with me and together we made the final plans for a party of about 107 people plus a few children!!! Food was fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was very nice. Thank You for a memorable night. Every one enjoyed the night.“

“We had a lovely meal at Gig Shack! You’re definitely paying for the atmosphere. I was a bit frustrated to be paying $28 for a burger and waffle fries, only to have normal fries come out. I asked our waiter and he said they were out of waffle fries. I wouldn’t have minded too much if he had let us know, it just was a bit odd to have our meal slightly downgraded with no notice. Nice music, though, and what we got was good. Wish I had waffle fries, though.“

“We had a Celebration of Life for my father. 33 people in attendance for passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet. The food and service were fabulous and the setting was stunning, but I felt a little rushed at the end, and there was not enough desert.“

“We LOVE it here!!! The food is AMAZING and fresh, the staff are welcoming, and so polite! Tables are spread out and you feel 100% safe. Service is top notch and the owners are the NICEST people. We come out here every Summer and you bet we are here atleast once or twice on vacation. It’s that good! My daughter loves the shrimp and lobster. 🍤🦞“

“Say it isn't so! One of the last great iconic locations has bitten the dust. This might be the last year for topside as a restaurant group from the city has leased out the building. Every year for the last 7 years , friends and i would go to the best view in Montauk to have great rum punches and mudslides as well as sushi and the famous lobster tacos. Casual and cool it was a unpretentious place that cried old Montauk. So if you get a chance have French Julie make you a drink as you watch the boats go by before it becomes a super high end restaurant or club.“

“Wonderful bar or tavern with some excelled pub grub. I had the scallop sandwich. Delicious. Others in the group had the open tuna sandwich and a pair of hearty looking salads.
I liked it so much that we came back the following day for lunch, but they’re closed on Mondays. In hope to come again one day.“

It was just another amazon dinner in one of my favorite place! Huge portions for three people! We brought seabass and lean cod and that all what we got!!! Super cool and great service! 50% occupancy due to COVID restrictions which made us feel safe! Definitely highly recommended by me as being picky gourmand ?.“

“Best Restaurant in Montauk by far. From the chef in the back to the staff in the front. We stayed in Montauk for 3 weeks and this is the only place (besides Shagwong) where we went 3 times. Food was fantastic from the Duck, to the German Night Sauerbraten, to the BEST clam chowder around. Thanks for great food and service...“
“Our experience was absolutely phenomenal at the Igloos!!! We were on an overnight trip to Gurneys and it was the perfect addition to a couples night out. We had nice alone time + the food, service, drinks and vibes were top tier. We enjoyed the artisanal platter, the pretzel, the salmon & filet mignon. I was so beyond happy we made the decision to eat here! So well worth every penny! The board games and awesome music in the igloos were a phenomenal touch!“

“So impressed with the service at Salivar’s - we took a chance and our big party rolled in with no reservation on a summer Friday night and Mimi at the front desk was so accommodating, offering us several options without batting an eye. We then were sat at a great table and our server Kelsey (along with several other staff members) juggled our chaos with grace. She was so sweet and totally made our night. Food was also delicious, from seafood specials to chicken and burgers to the kids options - we ordered everything on the menu and no one was disappointed. Thank you Salivar’s!!!“
