“This was the last stop on my day trip to Montauk, and really capped the trip off perfectly. We started with the Bay scallop appetizer. Crispy greens, flavorful bruschetta, loads of bay scallops. Everything in the dish came together great. Now, most of the dishes are family style, but since we were here in the off-season, they had single size plates. We ended up splitting the short rib and the fish of the day dish. The short rib was extra tender and had great flavor. It came with a side of polenta and broccoli rabe. The broccoli rabe was really good, but the polenta was just okay. The fish dish was the winner here. The fish was crispy on the outside and super moist on the inside. It was seasoned lightly and cooked perfectly. The crispy Brussel sprouts it came with plated so well and tasted even better. The cheesy rizzoto was out of this world. It was so thick but had great flavor, and the cheese wasn't overpowering. I would come back for a bowl of that rizzoto itself. If you appreciate great food, with fantastic service, and a beautiful view, then this is the place to come.Parking: Small lot.“
“Had a wonderful late afternoon lunch on Saturday, April 14th. Suzanna was our waitress and she was very efficient and accommodating. We tried so many dishes its difficult to remember them all. New England clam chowder, fish and chips, scallops and tuna entrees, sushi and salads, buffalo cauliflower, endamame were among the favorites we thoroughly enjoyed. We would love to make it an annual destination.“
“Pretty cool little place in the heart of town. Sat at the bar and watched the tennis match. Had a lobster slider, which was buttery and delicious. Cheesburger with fries. Washed it down with a Stella and capped off the night with a Jameson. It's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly and efficient. I try to come this way once a year from Texas and will definitely revisit when I am back. Thank you, Gig Shack.“
“We had a great meal here last night. We enjoyed the kale salad, the fluke sashimi and the shrimp tacos. All were prepared really creatively with excellent ingredients. It was such a pleasant surprise to find such a good meal. Also had a really great cocktail. We were in Montauk for the weekend, and this was our first time to this restaurant. We will definitely come again. Take a look at the menu on the restaurant's website because the one on OpenTable was not accurate. Prices were lower at the restaurant website and were the accurate ones.“
“Solid vibe in Montauk. This is definitely the spot if you're looking for an elevated experience in Montauk. The amenities are wonderful and it's the type of place you can quite literally spend the entire day comfortably. It's also pet friendly which is everything for a person like me who always travels with their dog.“
“I have been a member here for three years. This is the finest marina in Montauk New York. Their staff are not only professional, but well-versed in all areas of boating. This marina caters to fisherman in that they stay open longer than most marinas in that area, have great accommodations and service. They have my unqualified recommendation.“
“As a former career server,bartender...BRAVO to management for how you handled and responded to the issue with the misbehaved and unsupervised children. Its funny she acknowledged your sign by the door, but none the less her kids ran a muck. Sadly some people are so clueless, self absorbed, inconsiderate,or just plain lazy to understand the danger( for servers, the kids themselves ,other patrons, etx), disruption ,and the staff becoming thier personal babysitters etc,.You want it "expedited more quickly"? GO TO MC DONALDS ,not a higher end place that people are there for a DININGEXPERIENCE.And, most of us dining around them have already raised thier kids..We're not there to be annoyed, disrupted, nor do we think your kids are sweet cherubs from above.Poor parenting skills.and no consideration for others. I say this as my own 4 KNEW BETTER and I got compliments all the time how well behaved they were.. Now, I want to thank you ALL for the lovely anniversary dinner that you kindly seated us for as you had no available tables and we didnt have a reservation. We were gonna sit at the bar, but management was made known by a kind server that it was our anniversary, and they expeditiously set us a table before our drinks were even ready ! We hadnt been out there in about a decade, and we ate there on that trip..Servers were lovely ,charming, attentive, and funny too!,.Drinks amazing. And the food (apps, entrees, and dessert) well, that's why we chose THIS place for our special day!. Thank you so much for helping to make our anniversary weekend the HIGH NOTE of the trip ?“
“We ordered the lobster roll, fried calamari salad, and lobster bisque and grilled caesar salad for lunch. Just know that the grilled caesar salad is an entire romaine heart that has been grilled, with croutons on the side - didn't love that. Enjoyed everything else though! Casual decor, nothing special. Conveniently located right in town.“
“Tried this place with my friend when we were visiting during the summer and we loved it! We were new to the area and didn't really know where to go and we stumbled upon this place. Really nice views of the ocean and boats coming in. They had a very mellow vibe! We stayed here for probably 2 hours enjoying a few courses here and there of a variety of seafood. Everything was fresh and great. The service was so great and everyone working seemed so happy! I will say I think we overstayed our welcome because after a couple hours I had an important phone call and they seemed to be annoyed that we asked for a different table with a quieter setting but other than that everybody else was Amazing!“
“Always a reliable choice in Montauk. The food and service never disappoint. During the busy season we'll usually eat at the fancier places in town but we try to stop at The Shagwong once during our visit for dinner or lunch. Off season, on a 25 degree January day like today, we were very happy that the Shagwong is a reliable year round choice.“
“Navy Beach is the perfect venue for a micro wedding! I had the honor of capturing an October wedding there this past year and it was perfect. From bridal portraits during sunset at the beach, to the fun reception and dance floor by the bar, it was exactly what my couple envisioned for their big day! Highly recommend it there.@lorettarodriguezco“
“Great mom and pop seafood spot with tons of fresh, local, catch options. Found this place on yelp when we were looking for some fresh oysters and they did not disappoint. The fishery is located in the back of the owner/bay man's house and they feature only the freshest long island seafood, ranging from mussels, scallops, oysters, and there famous lobster pie. They also have some delicious chocolate mouse cake, and seafood fixings. The women running the spot was very friendly and helpful. She was also proud to talk about how her husband was a 14th generation bayman and catches what they sell. Definitely recommend if your looking for some fresh seafood to go. They are cash only and have parking in their driveway.“
