“Best Chinese Food you will ever get in the area!!“

“Pros: The boneless spare ribs were one of the best I've had from a Chinese restaurant in the area. The rice had more of a vegetable variety than others in the area.

Cons: The spring rolls are greasy and not filled well.

I'm going to have to try them again before I recommend them to the public.“

“I will never get Chinese food anywhere else! My family and I have tried every Chinese food place around North Haven. Most of them, the food is soggy, cold when we get it, not cooked right, etc. Until we found this place. It’s tucked away behind BAR pizza and we never even knew it was there! Our order everytime is chicken and broccoli spicy, general tso’s chicken not spicy, and crab rangoons. everytime the food is fresh and flavorful, everyone there is so nice and the place is beyond clean. I recommend to everyone!“

“I'm a rice lover. In my culture(s) rice is a staple so when I go to a Chinese restaurant I make my decision on the rice then go from there. They did not disappoint. Did not smell old oil, nor did the food tast like old oil. Even with delivery the service is nice and respectful. Introduced others and they too like the restaurant.“

“Literally single handedly the best Chinese American food experience in the entire state. The owner/staff are so friendly and hospitable, they are truly an asset to the community. Offering affordable and delicious, fresh, hot staples such as General Tso Chicken and Coconut shrimp (mine and my partners favorites) as well as crab Rangoon, dumplings, boneless spare ribs, etc. You will not leave disappointed, and your bellies will be full!“

Scallions in fried rice, sauces were light and much different from what I'm used to which is refreshing. “So this amazing place was recommended by a friend from Madison and it did not disappoint! Authentic Szechuan in a beautiful room with high ceilings and soothing decor and music. One dish was better than the last and you cannot get this quality anywhere locally as far as I've been to. Go for yourselves and enjoy. Somehow we received cheesecake and chocolate ganache cake for dessert complements of the place! Even better!😂“

“I literally can’t believe how incredible the food was. This is what casual Chinese used to taste like back in the day. It was as if I was a child tasting boneless spare ribs and crab rangoon for the very first time.. The spare ribs were charred and tender and the rangoon was made with actual crab as opposed to the typical “crab flavored” cream cheese. The pork fried rice was also remarkably flavorful with large cubes of pork and perfectly cooked onion. Those who have complained about the food specifically must be miserable Karens. This is my new favorite casual Chinese spot. 10/10“

“Food was excellent and very healthy. I had the chicken and broccoli combination platter. It was some of the best I ever had. Chicken was nice and tender and very crispy. Broccoli and carrots were very delicious. Definitely will be going back. House of Chao is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. “I can't believe after moving away and coming back 15 year later this icon of a restaurant is still open. From middle school til highschool this place was my staple. OMG they added new ideas but the vibe is still the same. I love coming home and seeing thing are not so different. So proud of this restaurant and it long years of service. 💜“

“this food is the bomb.com. its well seasoned nothing i got was nasty. this is some of the best rice ive had from a chinese joint. the only thing is the egg roll might have a little extra oil because 1 of mines had a lot of oil but it was the only one like that. but yeah even the soup is good and they are very nice which i never thought i would care about but the are actually have a pleasant energy. no delivery, and cash only. but worth it imo.“

“We have gone to several Chinese restaurants in the area and Golden Dragon tops all of the restaurants. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful with beautiful spirits. The young lady at the counter greeted us with a beautiful smile, she noticed that I was amazed and loved all of the plants that she gave me a piece of one of the plants so I can plant it. They’re hot and Sour soup is the best I’ve had in the area hands-down however it is very spicy so if you don’t want it spicy, ask them to alter it. Update I tried the curry shrimp and it was the best curry shrimp dish of any Chinese food establishment I’ve ever been to.“

Usually I will go pick my food up in order to ensure it’s freshness and all of that stuff because I’m a real stickler however I’m glad I didn’t allow for the negative reviews to discourage me because I placed my order for something that I’ve been craving so badly and everything arrived fresh everything was hot. I literally have no complaints and I’m so satisfied with everything I got thank you thank you thank you“

“I live down the street and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to try out this little gem. Part of this is because of the so-so reviews. Upon further inspection, a lot of the negative reviews were because the shop only accepts cash and they are so busy it can seem like the service is curt when calling to place an order. When we called, the person taking the order was efficient and we had no trouble. Plus, when we picked everything up, the food we ordered was delicious and fresh. May be the best Chinese takeout I’ve had in years! Well worth giving this place a try if you haven’t already. I’ve uploaded an updated menu with more recent prices.“
