“Best Chinese Food you will ever get in the area!!“

“I will never get Chinese food anywhere else! My family and I have tried every Chinese food place around North Haven. Most of them, the food is soggy, cold when we get it, not cooked right, etc. Until we found this place. It’s tucked away behind BAR pizza and we never even knew it was there! Our order everytime is chicken and broccoli spicy, general tso’s chicken not spicy, and crab rangoons. everytime the food is fresh and flavorful, everyone there is so nice and the place is beyond clean. I recommend to everyone!“

“I'm a rice lover. In my culture(s) rice is a staple so when I go to a Chinese restaurant I make my decision on the rice then go from there. They did not disappoint. Did not smell old oil, nor did the food tast like old oil. Even with delivery the service is nice and respectful. Introduced others and they too like the restaurant.“

“First I want to apologize In my several years of writing Google reviews I never skipped photos of the food but the food here was so amazingly good I just ate four servings of orange chicken! When I finally stopped I realized I ate everything before I took any pictures! Lol. I'm born and raised in Chicago and ate some of the most authentic and tasty Chinese food outside of China in our designated "China town" I have been up until now bitterly disappointed in all the Chinese restaurants in the entire state of Connecticut. The broccoli was tender and crisp and deliciously fresh. The orange chicken had REAL pieces of orange peel. Oh so slightly spicy but I don't eat anything spicy so most people would not have any issues with the spice level. It was simply PERFECT. The Crab Rangoon was the best I ever had and I have eaten in China town of both Chicago and San Francisco! This is the Only place I would even consider eating Chinese food in the entire state of Connecticut. I feed 3 hungry adults for $45 including tax and have some leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow.“

“I literally can’t believe how incredible the food was. This is what casual Chinese used to taste like back in the day. It was as if I was a child tasting boneless spare ribs and crab rangoon for the very first time.. The spare ribs were charred and tender and the rangoon was made with actual crab as opposed to the typical “crab flavored” cream cheese. The pork fried rice was also remarkably flavorful with large cubes of pork and perfectly cooked onion. Those who have complained about the food specifically must be miserable Karens. This is my new favorite casual Chinese spot. 10/10“

“Food was excellent and very healthy. I had the chicken and broccoli combination platter. It was some of the best I ever had. Chicken was nice and tender and very crispy. Broccoli and carrots were very delicious. Definitely will be going back. House of Chao is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. “I didn't want to write a review because I don't want anyone else to know about this place, but It was too good not to. Rangoon actually has crab in it! Scallions in fried rice, sauces were light and much different from what I'm used to which is refreshing. One dish was better than the last and you cannot get this quality anywhere locally as far as I've been to. Go for yourselves and enjoy. “I came in 15 minutes before closing and they were busy and but still able to take my order. The man at the counter was still nice and personable even with all the business. They’re all hard workers and my food was nice and fresh. Their General Tso is nice and crispy! Exactly how I like it. They don’t usually pick up the phone so it’s okay to just show up and order!“

“We’ ve been going here since my kids were younger I will say 20 something years! I never had any complaints about their food. Very busy place since they’re closed to Yale New Haven Hospital but they manage to serve your food fresh all the time and no more than 20 minutes wait. Best Lobster sauce combination, with Tostones! Crab Rangoon with sauce! Chicken General Tso or sesame seed orange chicken. Lunch or Dinner“

“It's a cozy little place with friendly service and fantastic food. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that there is no vegan protein offered (other than edamame). Wah Chun was a gift in our mailbox from heaven. Some of the specials (please please please put coconut shrimp back on the menu!!) Were no longer available, but what was absolutely amazing.
