“I lived in this area in 2009 and discovered this little gem. I moved back to my home state of Michigan in 2010 but still have my whole family in West Haven, so I still come to town every 3-4 years to visit, and when I do? You best believe i am making a pit stop in here for a pastrami sub. 😋 This is 100% the best deli i have ever been to. The man and woman running it are the sweetest people, they always remember us when I mention we are from Michigan, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal. The steak subs? Delicious. The Italian combo? “I seriously loved this place. The atmosphere and the customer service were amazing, but the food is what really won me over. I just finished eating and felt like I had to write a review. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and so comforting.

Even though the menu is international, there are a lot of Ecuadorian dishes and snacks that really stood out to me. It made me so happy to see my country’s food represented in such a beautiful way. I haven’t experienced that in a long time.

“Vegetable soup: The vegetable soup from Rosa’s Deli comes highly recommended by me. It has plenty of fresh vegetables, is not salty at all like many others are, (my feeling on salt is that you can always add more but cannot extract it), and comes with saltine crackers and a spoon (I did not need the spoon as this was my maiden voyage for my new soup spoon)!“

“So I typically have a great sandwich here, but the other day I placed an order over the phone for my grandfather’s birthday, and when I showed up too early to pick up the order I thought I heard they didn’t have one type of meats for the ‘Sweet Italian Combo’ (of course my grandfather’s sandwich, out of all of them ordered). I thought nothing of it as nobody said a word to me from behind the counter. Grabbed the orders and paid, get home and it was a grilled chicken sandwich with ham (random combination) BUT was labeled as the Sweet Italian. It all made sense now, and I was not mistaken from what I heard. The Provy Brother’s would of never of pulled that ‘stunt’ and would have been transparent that they did not have the available meat(s) for the sandwich instead of making whatever they decided AND labelling it as the requested sandwich when it was not. Yes, the sandwich was still good, but imagine my grandfather’s surprise on his 86th birthday that his favorite sandwich he ordered from his favorite sandwich shop was not what he ordered or wanted on his special day. Please don’t EVER do that again to anyone. That was messed up and you all know what you did. And yes, we will give you all another chance as your sandwiches are always great. Just please be honest to your loyal customers.“

“This place is a hidden gem !! The owner is very kind, and the lady at the front is always so welcoming !
This is my go to spot when I work in the area. I always get the same thing, once I walk in they already know my order (pastrami sub, with grilled onions, lettuce, extra Swiss cheese, mayo and mustard)

They do take forever to make your pizza on busy days, regardless it is well worth waiting for. I'm assuming the pizza would be less expensive if they didn't charge so much for toppings. The pizzas are huge, plan accordingly with a group of buddies instead of ordering a whole pie for yourself. Would say the same of the calzone, which a friend got“

I walked there and had a bologna egg and cheese sandwich. bologna wild not normally be my first thought on a breakfast sandwich but it was in the menu so I tried it. I little salty, and not very healthy, but it was grilled and got and delicious.“

One of the best Italian combos I've ever had in my lifetime. The amount of sandwich that this one man serves you for $10 should be the national standard for America. “I love the people who work here they are all really nice. They make really good sandwiches on sub rolls? with a free can of soda with it for like $7, and that's with basically whatever you want on it. You want turkey, ?, , ?, ?️, ?, mayo, mustard, and pepper, and whatever else you want on it like extra cheese or extra whatever too I'm pretty sure it stays $7 because me and my bf get extra stuff all the time and we don't get charged more.“

“Stopped by looking for a snack and man did Amanda deliver. I got the chicken bacon ranch on a grinder and a side of pasta salad. This is honestly one of the best CBR I’ve had.The chicken is super moist, coupled with heaps of crispy smoked bacon, which you can really taste. The ranch gives a creamy base layer that ties in the thick cuts of lettuce and tomatoes. This is all gift wrapped in a layer of cheddar cheese. The bread was crispy and held the insides of this sub together, without leaking through.I’ll be back to try the whole rest of the menu, you should too!“
