We met with Sergio on Wednesday and he completely accommodated all of our wishes for that upcoming Saturday in his beautifully appointed private room. “This place is perfection! Just steps from Stamford Center for the Arts' Palace Theatre, it's perfect for dinner and a show, drinks, etc. The good is always fresh, vibrant & delicious. Respectful of dietary choices/restrictions. Gorgeous hotels on either side. Seriously perfect!“

“The food was absolutely delicious! We had Calamari, Veal Romano and Chicken Parm. All three dishes were some of the best Italian food I have ever had. The service was excellent. There was not one negative thing at our visit.“

The service however was a huge disappointment. After providing my name for the reservation, the host walked about 8 steps and then without speaking pointed to the table across the room where we were apparently supposed to sit. I asked for clarification, and he then muttered in annoyance that one by the window….

Next up, we were asked if we want still or sparkling water, I asked for a bottle of still.
We received tap water. I again asked for a bottle of still, we then received lime flavored tap water. Finally our server stepped in and clarified they do not have bottled still water, only filtered…
I do want to mention besides the host no one was rude, but the service in general just didn’t seem to keep up.“

“Great service. Waiter was lovely! The Bibb salad with melon was absolutely delicious! The meatballs were tasty too! The mortadella pizza was fine. It was a bit salty for my liking. A mortadella pizza is one of my favorites and I felt like this missed the mark. The branzino was not tasty. It was dry and overcooked. Our cocktails were delicious! Each one had a unique flavor and not something every restaurant could make! Nice ambiance and child friendly.“

Food delivery is reasonably quick. Eating in is always great and the service is top notch!!

The only thing I've noticed wrong is that when food is delivered, the bread is sometimes doughy and even undercooked a few times.

Would however prefer to eat within the restaurant where I can rest assured that the food will be properly cooked and there are no rush jobs.“

My friends and I cycle all over Stamford, New Canaan, Pound Ridge, Darien, and more …and about half the time they insist that we stop at “mother‘s” (as they call it) before we head to our respective homes. We always get rolls with egg, cheese, broccoli rabe, and bacon …and pancakes …and coffee and it’s definitely heaven.

A year ago I enjoyed the Gnocchi so much, that this year I made sure to make it back again. Tried the Pizza, and it was EVERY BIT the Heaven I knew it would be.
