“Myrcene is a hidden gem within Old Saybrook! We recently hosted a graduation party here with about 50 guests and it was the PERFECT spot to host a party. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They kept all of their delicious beers, wines, ciders and seltzers flowing for our guests and allowed us to bring in our own food and desserts (this was a game changer for us when looking for a spot to host a party locally). From the time we set up to the time we cleaned up the owners offered to help and were always there to see if we needed anything. The inside space is perfect for a gathering, plus they have a wonderful outside space too for guests to sit and relax and play lawn games. I can’t recommend them enough for your next party or just for a local meet up with friends and family for a delicious drink!”

It's a charming place with a nice patio friendly wait staff who are attentive and hard working. We never had a sour experience making this place a regular spot for a relaxing meal with plenty of choices
Along with pizzas their fish'nchips are one of my favorites with enough for another snack at home. The restaurant is clean the atmosphere is family orientated as the lady owner greets everyone as her family of friends with kind words of welcome back.It's a treat to look forward to the next visit.”

“This LITTLE RESTAURANT IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM! It’s a modest little establishment tucked directly behind Home Goods. The decor design is very much early 1970’s. Tile floors with 10-12 Formica tables & counter seating. IT’S ADORABLE! THE FOOD IS FABULOUS & PRICED EXTREMELY REASONABLE.
They SERVE BREAKFAST ALL DAY!
They also offer delicious lunch items ranging from pot roast, spaghetti to patty melts. They have AN ARRAY OGLF WONDERFUL CHALK BOARD SPECIALS!
THE STAFF ARE LOVELY. I have NO IDEA why anyone would say they are RUDE.
I have been going weekly for 2+ yrs & I have had NOTHING but KIND, HELPFUL EFFICIENT SERVICE. The COOK is a quiet, shy but genteel man. So perhaps ppl should pay a bit more attention.

“The only Dunkin I will go to 1635 Boston post rd old saybrook. There is a girl who works there goes by the name of Katie/kate/Kaitlyn she has great customer skills. Always greets us with a smile. She makes us laugh. She is very nice. Always makes sure our order is right. Whatever you do give this girl a raise. It is so hard to find someone who has that much friendly customer service”

“This is absolutely my favorite place to eat in old saybrook. Whether it be breakfast or lunch or dinner I have not been disappointed. I was especially impressed by breakfast here. My waitress Paige was so accommodating and kind. She made all the difference in the experience we had. I wish they had 10 of her. I would highly recommend for atmosphere hospitality and food. Above and beyond and excellent.

I have been back a dozen times since the review posted above. Valentine's Day brunch was nice. The dining enhanced by the pasta station which was fabulous. Chef Lam is simply amazing! He went out of his way to make the food and the Fresh Salt experience perfect. Staff like this will keep us coming back again and again. Thanks Fresh Salt and Thank you Lam.

Since my last review I have continued to visit Fresh Salt. It is hard to believe that my experience has been better and better.

“My husband and I were in a time crunch looking for a quick meal after a disastrous encounter at Mirsina's (check my reviews). The young man working at the register was very nice and greeted us immediately when we walked in. There were two other people working there and they were just as pleasant. Burgers were ace, and the fries were fresh and hot. Keep up the great work!”

“I went to have a quick bite with my husband last night and while we sat to eat, a man with no money walked in. The owner immediately walked over to him, greeted him with utmost respect, made him a footlong sandwich and meal, free of charge, and treated him in a way that made us both tear up and realize there are good people in this world who have a heart of gold. The owner is a couple who treats their customers like friends and family, but this action made me respect them 100 times more. God bless you. We come in from out of state once a month to visit our kids and always stop to eat here because of their warm customer service.”
